Chapter 107 - Chapter 107 - Loki? I Can’t Beat Him

Thor, the Thunder God, also jokingly called the Hammer God, shows just how much Thor loves his hammer.

Not long ago, Thor had no idea what trouble he'd caused. His own father, completely disregarding the Hammer God's dignity, forcibly confiscated his beloved hammer.

A Hammer God without his hammer—is he still a good Hammer God? Odin's actions immediately reduced Thor to tears and snot.

But then, seeing that the Hammer God still hadn't realized his mistakes, Odin went all out—not only confiscating the hammer but also inexplicably stripping Thor of his divine power and even banishing him from the God Realm.

Seriously, are you even my real dad?

Now, after much hardship, Thor was moments away from reclaiming his hammer and ascending once more as the Hammer God, ready to return to Asgard and argue with his father: What exactly had he done wrong?

Unfortunately, the idea was great, but reality was cruel.

No matter how much Thor professed his love to the hammer, it steadfastly refused him: "You're not my hammer-brother, so scram already."

This time, Thor felt the sting deeply. His beloved hammer had rejected him?! How was this any different from watching his lover fall into another's arms?

Feeling heartbroken, Thor let out a few confused roars at the sky before slumping beside Mjolnir like a wooden puppet.

Nearby, Coulson, seeing that the Thunder God couldn't lift Mjolnir, walked over to Li Feng and whispered in his ear while watching Thor, "Austin, are you sure this is the Thunder God? He looks more like a lovelorn youth to me.""I just realized," Li Feng turned his head to glance at Coulson and said, "You summed it up perfectly. He really is heartbroken—his beloved hammer girlfriend of a thousand years suddenly dumped him. If it were you, you might not even handle it as well as he is."

Hammer girlfriend? Damn, I don't have a fetish for objects. Collecting antiques doesn't count, right?

Coulson subtly rolled his eyes and waved at a distant agent, signaling them to hurry up and bring an umbrella. Couldn't they see the prince of Asgard getting drenched in the rain? Seriously, no situational awareness at all.

At that moment, Thor looked like a man possessed, allowing the agents to hold an umbrella over him as they guided him into a prepared room.

Li Feng was about to follow Thor when Coulson's voice came from behind.

"Austin, do you understand Asgardian?" Coulson was actually a bit worried at this point. Thor hadn't said a single word since entering the base, aside from a few roars at the sky.

All Coulson knew was that Thor wasn't mute—beyond that, he had no clue. If he tried to communicate with Thor and the guy started spouting Asgardian dialect, he'd be completely lost.

"You're overthinking it. His English is way better than yours," Li Feng said with a smirk, his tone tinged with envy. "This guy has a 5,000-year lifespan. Five thousand years! That's insanely long. You think Thor spends every day just fighting, drinking, and eating meat? He actually uses his free time to study. Forget something as simple as Earth languages—he even knows obscure tree-people languages like 'Groot language.'"

"Tree-people?" Coulson paused, then remembered that while Kreacher looked strange, his race was classified under the elf category—even if Kreacher's appearance didn't match the stereotypical image of beautiful elves.

But if elves exist, why not tree-people? That's perfectly normal. Who knows, maybe one day we'll even meet dwarves who only come up to our waists.

Now reassured that he could communicate with Thor, Coulson quickly walked into the room where Thor was staying.

Use me and toss me aside? Nice one, Coulson. I misjudged you.

Grumbling internally, Li Feng followed Coulson into the room.

To welcome this alien prince, Coulson had gone all out in decorating the reception room. The silk-covered bed was just the start—even the dining table was adorned with fresh apples.

Judging by the water droplets still clinging to the apples, they had probably been washed and brought in just moments ago by an agent.

Li Feng glanced at Thor, who sat on the edge of the bed, still drowning in the misery of his breakup, then walked straight to the table, picked up an apple, and started munching.

Beside him, Coulson shot Li Feng a helpless look before pulling up a chair opposite Thor. With a warm smile, he said, "Hello, Thor Odinson. I'm Phil Coulson, an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Welcome to Earth."

Thor, his eyes lifeless, looked up at Coulson: Mortal? The arrogant Thor ignored Coulson outright, turning his head to look at Li Feng and asking, "Who are you?" After a pause, as if suddenly realizing something, Thor abruptly stood up and walked over to Li Feng, demanding, "Did you tamper with Mjolnir? Is that why I can't lift it?"

Li Feng, who had been happily munching on an apple, was startled by Thor's accusation and coughed violently. Damn, even if I had the power to seal Mjolnir, I wouldn't dare! Do you really think your dear old dad can't see what's happening on Earth?

I always knew Thor preferred speaking with his hammer, but now I'm starting to wonder if Odin sealed your brain along with your powers.

"Do you really think I have the strength to tamper with Mjolnir?" Li Feng spread his hands with a pitiful tone. "That's completely impossible."

In truth, Thor had already felt a bit foolish the moment he asked. The other party was just an Earthling mage—even a cursory glance made it clear his strength was inferior to Thor's, let alone capable of meddling with Mjolnir.

Though Coulson had guessed Thor wasn't keen on talking to him, now that the god had spoken, he might as well try to extract some information. Otherwise, he'd have nothing to report to Fury.

After some thought, Coulson decided to cut straight to the point.

"Mr. Thor Odinson, may I ask what your purpose is in coming to Earth?"

Why am I on Earth? Thor sighed despondently, ignoring Coulson's salt-rubbing question. Glancing around the decently furnished room, a thought suddenly struck him: Too bad there's no alcohol. Strong liquor and heartbreak are a perfect match.

Seeing this, Coulson helplessly turned to Li Feng, who was still devouring apples. Before he could even ask for help, the phone in his pocket suddenly rang.

After checking the caller ID, Coulson hurriedly left the room.

The moment Coulson's phone rang, Li Feng sensed someone casting a spell on him, seemingly trying to muddle his consciousness.

No doubt about it—this had to be that troublemaker Loki up to his tricks again.

Unfortunately for Loki, Li Feng, a master of Occlumency, completely ignored the magic. But knowing he stood little chance against Loki in a direct confrontation, Li Feng tilted his head in thought, then picked up an apple from the table and tossed it to Thor.

As he walked toward the door, he said, "Your powers are sealed right now, so you don't have divine energy to sustain your body. You should eat something."

At the doorway, just as Li Feng casually closed the door, he activated his Magic Eye and glanced back at Loki, who had suddenly appeared in the room. He flashed a mysterious smile before shutting the door completely.

Originally, the magical fluctuations from Li Feng had already clued Loki in that this man was a mage. But Loki figured that since the guy had ended up on Earth just to scrape by, his abilities must be limited.

As for Earth's mages? Sorry, but it wasn't that Loki looked down on Earth—he simply didn't believe Earth had any mages at all. In all his years, he'd never heard of mages existing on this technologically backward planet.

Yet the smile Li Feng left behind gave Loki the eerie feeling that he'd been seen through.

After a moment's thought, Loki revealed himself in front of Thor and asked, "Dear brother, who is that mage?" "Loki?" Thor glanced toward the door, shaking his head to indicate he didn't know who Li Feng was, then asked in confusion, "Why are you here? Are the Jotuns about to attack the God Realm? Let me return to the God Realm—I'll explain everything to Father myself."

Before Thor could finish speaking, the master trickster Loki put on a sorrowful expression and said, "Father is dead."

Hearing Loki's words, Thor's mind went blank. What did that mean? This wasn't following the script at all. It was like he'd just played a three, and Loki immediately dropped the bomb. One second they were talking about the Jotuns, and the next, Loki was saying Father had died.

The suddenness of the twist was too much—Thor felt his old back couldn't take it.

Then, Loki launched into his usual deceptive spiel, first lying that the Jotuns were about to attack Asgard, then claiming Odin was too old and couldn't handle the shock, leading to a heart attack or something—basically spinning a tale about how he'd kicked the bucket in the end.

As the saying goes, a kingdom cannot be without a ruler for even a day. Thor was originally supposed to inherit the throne, but since the crown prince was currently not in Asgard, the throne naturally fell to him instead.

To make Thor abandon any thoughts of competing for the throne, Loki spun lies without batting an eye, clearly telling Thor: The condition for the Jotuns to withdraw their forces was your permanent banishment—and your own mother agreed to this.

In short, Loki's words had only one purpose: For the sake of peace, you'd better stay honest on Earth and stop causing trouble in Asgard.

It was only because Thor was so naive that he not only believed Loki's words but even thanked him for risking danger to deliver the message.

Meanwhile, after leaving Thor's room, Li Feng instinctively looked for Coulson.

He remembered that Coulson had previously been hit by Loki's mind-control spell, which made him a little worried. What if Loki's magic clashed with his own control-type seed, causing Coulson to break free from his influence?

Li Feng considered that a significant loss.

Before long, Li Feng found Coulson standing in a secluded corner, talking on the phone.

But Coulson had the phone pressed to his ear, looking as if he was having a pleasant conversation, which puzzled Li Feng.

The phone ringing was clearly Loki's doing—so who was Coulson talking to now?

When Li Feng got closer, he realized: Talking, my ass! Coulson's phone only had a dial tone. Were you chatting with a ghost living inside the phone?

Without another word, Li Feng quickly dispelled the magic affecting Coulson.

Recalling that he had been talking nonsense to a dial tone for who knows how long, Coulson stared blankly at the phone in his hand, then at Li Feng beside him, and asked in confusion, "What just happened to me?"

Li Feng shrugged and pointed in Thor's direction. "Loki, Thor's brother, was here earlier. You were under his control."

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" As he spoke, Coulson grabbed Li Feng and rushed toward Thor's room.

Li Feng replied calmly, "Tell you sooner? And then what? Fight Loki right here? I'm no match for him."
