After finishing Love Metronome, Emiya took out Yamada Elf's Explosive Dark Fairy and read it.
He found that Explosive Dark Fairy was completely different from Love Metronome.
One had elegant writing, while the other was straightforward and full of fan service.
But Emiya had to admit he was a bit of a lowbrow. He thought Explosive Dark Fairy was several times better than Love Metronome.
As he read, he would occasionally smile to himself.
He had to admit that Yamada Elf really understood what men wanted to see and fully displayed the scenes men wanted.
In this regard alone, Yamada Elf was far ahead of Utaha Kasumigaoka.
Time flew by as Emiya read the light novel.
In the blink of an eye, Miyazono Middle School was out of class.
Emiya left the coffee shop and went to the other side of the street, observing the crowd of students.
Before long, he saw the person he was looking for: a girl wearing a school uniform, with long blonde hair, beautiful light-blue eyes, and a bright smile on her round
face.
It was hard to imagine that such a cute girl had an incurable disease.
"Little girl, little girl," Emiya called out to her.
His voice carried to Kaori Miyazono's ears as she was walking home alone after saying goodbye to her friends.
Kaori was startled and looked around. She quickly saw a strange man across the street waving at her. She pointed to herself in surprise.
"Are you... calling me?"
Emiya nodded. "Yes, I am calling you."
Kaori hesitated.
She wanted to ignore him because she didn't know this man, and it was unwise to talk to a stranger.
But in the end, she walked over because she thought this
lonely man might need help.
"Sir, can I help you with something?"
Emiya didn't mind Kaori calling him "sir." As a twenty-something man, being called "sir" by a girl her age was normal.
"Little girl, from the moment I saw you, I knew we had a connection. To be honest, I'm a deity who has fallen to the mortal world and is facing some small difficulties."
Emiya struggled to hold back his laughter as he spoke seriously.
"If you are willing to worship me, I can grant you any wish."
Kaori took a step back and looked at Emiya warily. "Sir, is this some kind of new way to spread a religion?"
Emiya feigned anger. "Who said this is a way to spread a religion? I am a genuine deity. Seriously, do people do not believe in deities anymore?"
Kaori wanted to laugh but didn't dare. She looked at Emiya carefully. "Sir, are you okay?"
Emiya huffed and puffed. "I see. You think there's something wrong with my head. Are all girls as rude as you nowadays?"
Kaori spoke with righteous indignation. "If you're really a deity, can you prove it?"
"Of course, I can prove it." Emiya looked around and, seeing that no one was paying attention to him and Kaori, held out his hands.
"Watch, little girl. This is a miracle." Emiya clapped his hands together, and when he separated them, there was a diamond in his hand.
Kaori's eyes widened. She stared at the diamond in Emiya's hand, then exclaimed, "What a... what a great magic trick!"
Emiya was speechless.
"It's a miracle, a miracle, little girl!"
"No way, that's definitely a magic trick," Kaori insisted.
"Nonsense! It's a miracle! I created this diamond out of thin air. What else could it be but a miracle? How can you accuse me of lying?"
"Huh? Didn't you say you were a deity?" Kaori looked at Emiya with suspicion.
"That was just a figure of speech. Don't you get it, little girl?" Emiya said confidently.
"Tell you what, little girl, to prove that I'm a deity, you can name something, and no matter what it is, I can make it appear. How about that?"
Kaori's eyes lit up. "Really?"
"Absolutely."
"Then can you make a piano appear?" Kaori asked. "If you can make a piano appear out of thin air, I'll believe you're a deity."
"That's too easy." Emiya rubbed his hands together and
was about to make a piano appear when he suddenly stopped.
"What's wrong, sir? Why did you stop?"
"I didn't stop. It's just that this isn't a good place." Emiya said.
"This place is too conspicuous. If I make a piano appear, it will easily attract attention and even draw the attention of the authorities. Those people are a pain."
"Then what do you mean, sir?"
Emiya pointed ahead. "I saw a park not far away. There's hardly anyone there. Let's go to the park, and I'll make a piano appear for you."
Kaori took another step back. "Sir, are you trying to lure me to the park and kidnap me?"
Emiya looked at Kaori, who was about to run, and said helplessly, "I'm a deity. Why would a deity kidnap a little girl?"
"I still don't believe you're a deity," Kaori retorted.
"Then what will it take for you to believe me?" Emiya
asked.
Kaori giggled. "You're so funny, sir, trying so hard to prove you're a deity."
Emiya looked helpless. "Are all girls as strange as you nowadays?"
"That's so rude! I'm not strange at all," Kaori said, completely at ease. "Since you call yourself a deity, do you know my name, sir?"
"Kaori Miyazono," Emiya said straightforwardly.
Kaori's eyes widened. "Sir, are you a stalker?"
"First a kidnapper, now a stalker? Why won't you just believe that I'm a deity?" Emiya couldn't help but complain.
"Because there are no deities in this world," Kaori said with conviction.
"Why don't you believe there are deities in this world?"
"If there were deities, why didn't they come to see me after I prayed so many times?" A hint of sadness flashed in Kaori's eyes.
Emiya said calmly, "But I did come."
Kaori was stunned.
Emiya continued, "There are too many people in this world who pray to deities, and they can't always get to everyone. But I heard your prayer, so I came."
Kaori stared blankly at Emiya, opening her mouth but not knowing what to say.
Emiya raised his hand, and in his hand appeared a bottle of the all-purpose panacea.
"This is a panacea that can cure any injury or illness.
Drink it, and your body will be healthy again." With that, Emiya placed the panacea in Kaori's hand.
"So, don't be sad. Go out there and shine brightly in this
world, Kaori Miyazono. I look forward to your future."
After saying that, Emiya ruffled Kaori's hair forcefully.
Then he turned and left.
By the time Kaori reacted, Emiya had already disappeared into an empty alley.
Kaori looked up and chased after him.
However, when she entered the alley, she found that it was a dead end.
But the strange man had disappeared.
"Sir..."
Emiya hadn't left, of course.
He was using the power of his Supe Supe no Mi to hide.
In the past few days, he had developed a new ability, the Air Door, which allowed him to open a door in the air and hide in a strange space, just like Bruno could with the Doa Doa no Mi.
If he took it a step further, Emiya could combine the Air Door and his Supe Supe no Mi to achieve instantaneous movement.
The reason Emiya didn't leave was to make sure Kaori drank the panacea.
If she didn't, his trip would have been for nothing. Emiya watched as Kaori, unable to find him, took the panacea and ran home.
She told her parents what had happened.
Kaori's parents thought she had met a con artist, and her father immediately wanted to throw away the panacea on the table.
But her mother stopped him. After some discussion, Kaori finally drank the panacea.
Seeing this, Emiya quietly left.
The panacea was created by him and could cure all diseases.
Kaori's incurable disease was nothing in the face of the panacea. As long as she drank it, she would be cured.
There was no point in Emiya staying, so he turned and left.
That night, Emiya returned to Shizuka's house and opened the door to find her lying on the sofa eating instant noodles.
Emiya sighed helplessly.
"You're so lazy. If you don't want to cook, can't you just order takeout? At least it's more nutritious than instant noodles."
"None of your business," Shizuka huffed.
"Did you finish what you had to do today?"
Emiya nodded. "Pretty much."
"So, that little girl named Kaori Miyazono was saved?"
Emiya gave her a side-eyed glance.
"Who do you think I am? My panacea can cure any disease."
"Who are you going to save next?" Shizuka asked curiously.
"Shoko Nishimiya."
"Shoko Nishimiya? Is she another pathetic girl with an incurable disease?" Shizuka asked.
Emiya shook his head.
"She doesn't have an incurable disease; she has a hearing impairment. Because of her long-term hearing impairment, she has trouble speaking and has been isolated and bullied by her classmates."
Hearing this, Shizuka clicked her tongue. Campus bullying was a common problem in Japan, and even she didn't have a good way to deal with it.
"Do what you feel is right," she said.
Emiya nodded. Of course, that was his intention.
