When the trio looked at him they could see his face was extremely dark.
As they held their breath while seeing them, after a second they broke out into an explosive laughter.

The reason for their laughter was because after their morning training session was over, he had told them that he was going to buy them popsicles, and before Yujiro could say that he had any, Hiramasu had already left.
As for if Yujiro intentionally delayed informing him, that is a question that doesn't need an answer.
The reason for this includes the practical fighting with swords that Hiramasu put Yujiro through.

Though Hiramasu was annoyed with Yujiros hoarding in the beginning, when Mujin told what happened here before he showed up, he finally relaxed.
'I see so he made these. Now that I think about it, he has always eaten delicious food, as long as I have remembered him.
No wonder, he has made those foods himself.'
After the noon break was over, unlike usual Hiramasu didn't make them train.
Instead he made a speech to his students.
"Now I know that you are interested in the Chunin exams.
But you should know that the Chunin exams are dangerous, they could even cost you your lives.
But if any of you manages to get first place in the Chunin exams, I will give them an A rank jutsu of any kind.
I will personally use my merits to give any jutsu within Konoha."
