Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

The sun was out, the sky a beautiful shade of blue, the clouds seemed to dance in the wind. It was yet again a beautiful day in Fortun. Fortun, formally known as Section A, is the most popular city in the country. The sun is always out and it rarely rains, not to mention the futuristic scenery and buildings.

Though, because of the popularity of Fortun, the raise in crime is also a lot higher. Fortunately, many strong heroes live and work here. Some of the massive screens on the tall buildings displayed a man so beautiful one could even call him an angel. His beautiful, pure white wings in the background with feathers all around. His slender, pale hands holding a promotion product overshadowed by the angelic man in front.

S Rank hero, Top 1 in the country. 24 years old, 6'1 (185cm). Lucian Ferin, Hero name: Angel (shot). Ability: Flight, telekinesis, super speed. Lucian is H.A's pride and joy. From the day he was born, he held expectations from everyone who knew about him. His father was the top director for H.A and his mother was an extremely talented hero. Unfortunately for him, he never actually wanted to be the hero was now. He's only truly wanted one thing.

"It's Adrain. I don't have a last name, at least that what my parents said" A child smaller than most his age, black hair long enough to trip over, his skin so pale with scars and bruises some might mistake him for a ghost. That sight alone was more than enough for the other child to fall head over heels for him before he even knew what love was.

"Then.. your last name can be Ferin, just like me" The child with small wings and white hair smiled uncontrollably every time his eyes landed on the smaller figure. Truly a sight for sore eyes. "Is it really okay for me to take your last name like that? I mean, your family is important, unlike mine. Won't your parents get mad?" The smaller boy crouched down, grabbing a stick and drawing in the sand, writing out the words 'Ferin' in a sloppy way.

The other boy gently held the stick before writing the name 'Adrain' beside it. "Of course it is. You're already like family to me, why wouldn't I want to share a last name?" The smaller boy never cracked a smile, always looking grim and on the brink of death. The other boy looked over and smiled big enough for the both of them. The smaller looked up at him with eyes slightly widened before he smiled as well.

And just like that, the smaller boy disappeared into the sand along with the words 'Adrain Ferin' written on the ground. Desperately, the white haired boy tried to grasp onto any part of him left, but the sand fell through his small hands. The boy desperately yelled his name, but he never appeared.

I open my eyes abruptly to the sun beaming down on my face. Damn it.. I forgot to close the blinds last night. That dream again, it has to be the millionth time I've seen it by now. I sit up with a blank look on my face, one that made me seem out of it. Dammit, why does my brain do this to me like as if I'm getting my hopes up. He's been gone for 19 years, it would even be a miracle even he remembered me, let alone meet him.

If only I could go back to that day, I would've begged him not to leave. Knowing him, he probably would've listen to anything I said. Fuck. I should've just chained him in my room and kept him there forever. It's not like I could do that now..

"See, I knew those hero bastards were all bark no bite" The masked man ran in the street with a bag of stolen goods and a smug grin plastered on his face. "Y-you sure 'bout this boss?" The other masked man followed behind him, gliding on the ground like as if it were ice. Robber number 1, ability: Being able to see through walls made out of plaster. Robber number 2, ability: Can glide on any surface like ice.

"I've never been more sure in my life kiddoooOOOH!- WHAT THE-" The two masked men started floating in the air unwillingly with a blue aura around them. There were many other people in the air as well, all just as bitter and surprised like everyone else was. "WHAT THE HELLS HAPPENIN'?" The man yelled as he flailed his limbs. "U-uhm.. boss" The other masked man points down and he looks at what he's pointing at. Feathers? Blue aura?.. "Oh shit-"

The crime rate really doesn't go down these days. It's disappointing when it's lowly ants like these who wholeheartedly believe that they can get away with anything. Sucks to suck, and it must suck hard to resort to robbing in the middle of the day, in Fortun of all places. "I'll take it from here, Angel"

S Rank hero, Top 3 in the city. 29 years old, 6'2 (188cm). Isao Shogun, Hero name: Shogun. Ability: ???

I fly down as I drop all the criminals on the ground, dragging those who tried to run when they fell. Shogun usually handles the police crew and ADC. He arrests people rather than actually going out to fight them. ADC (Advanced Handcuffs) are a special kind of handcuff that temporarily disables an ability users powers. Of course, if someone is strong enough, it won't be as effective, but that rarely ever happens. It's pretty much the same material prisons that hold ability users are made of.

"You look quite grim for someone on patrol duty" Shogun walks over, letting the police handle the criminals on the ground. He pushes his glasses up, and knowing he's about to ramble about some dumb shit like how patrol duty is important, I cover his mouth with my wing. "I'm aware" Before he could answer me, he moves slightly to the right as a beaten up villain crashes onto the ground where he was standing. His clothes were still on fire and his hair burnt to a crisp. A strong gust of wind followed by water was mercilessly thrown onto him.

A girl floats down with vines wrapped around her to slow her descent. She lands smoothly on the ground as she puts her arm over me. "Good to see you doing patrol duty for once" She punches at my gut in a joking manner with a grin I wish I could smack off her face.

S Rank hero, Top 4 in the city. 26 years old, 5'10 (177cm). Ayane Chieko, Hero name: Lavender. Ability: Elemental

"You two DO realize that treating criminals like this is not ideal? It says in the hero manual page 8, rule-" He was cut off once again, this time by Ayane. She crossed her arms, giving Shogun an annoyed look. "We get it virgin, no need for your whining" That seemed to be enough to break his spirit. She put her focus back on me as she gave me a smile.

"Wanna go out tonight? It's on me. I was thinking soju and korean barbecue?" Ayane nudges me with her elbow like as if to try and convince me to go. She asks me out everyday and I figured out pretty early on that she's only interested in the women that approach me, not necessarily because she wants to hangout.

"Were you planning on sleeping with every girl that approaches me?" She laughs instead of denying it. So it was true after all. She smacks my back in a friendly manner. This girl sure loves her physical touch. "Oh come on, is it so bad that I'm using you to get a girl?"

I just give her a look instead of trying to argue with her. "I'm switching my duties with you" I shoved the patrol duty pin at her as I use my telekinesis to grab her target duty pin. I fly off before she could complain about it. "Hey! You- ugh.. You damn bastard. I guess this is what I get for trying to using you" Shogun opens his hands to show an Ayane his ADC pin. "You can always switch duties with me-" Ayane takes the pin and throws it at his face, making sure to aim for his forehead.

Floating down to the nearest vending machine, people look and stare in awe, hesitant on whether they should approach me or not. I grab my drink and extend my wings to take off but I was stopped by someone. They slipped a note into my hands and kept walking as if he were just a passerby. A white letter with nothing on it, no name, no title, nothing. I couldn't feel anything inside but paper so I assume it's a fan letter of some sort and nothing malicious.

Even so, I don't accept anything from fans for a reason. I stop the person who gave me the letter, their body emanating a slight blue glow, indicating that they were stopped by my telekinesis. "I don't accept letters" I spoke out, trying to give the letter back to him but he gave me a grin before disappearing almost the instant I tried to stop him. No doubt about it, it was a teleportation ability. It's hard to come across ability users who can teleport, if the H.A knew about this they would immediately send someone out to scout them.

For someone to hide from the H.A for so long with an ability like that is quite the feat. Luckily for him, I'm not the type to care about something like that. That guy did have an oddly familiar vibe to him though, maybe I should report it just for the sake of observing him.

Flying up to a tall building, I open the letter inside and see a sheet of paper with just one sentence: "Find me". The words meant nothing to me but the handwriting was what caught my eye. It was the same, or at least similar- No, I wouldn't mistake his handwriting. It was from Adrian. Even the slight scent the letter had was no doubt from Adrian.

He's here. With a smile unconsciously creeping up on my face, the only thoughts running through my mind were Adrian. The person who gave me the letter wasn't Adrian though, that much I knew. I didn't get to take a good look at his face, but I know for a fact his vibe was similar to him.

I bring the letter up to my face, inhaling deeply. Ah.. This was the real deal. I wouldn't mistake this handwriting, this scent, the entirety of this letter, to be from anyone else. I'll come find you, no matter how far you were before, you're closer than ever now and that's all that matters.

Atop a different building, a man around the same height as Lucian stood at the ledge, his long black his flowing in the wind behind him. "You really haven't changed in all these years, huh? Still as disgustingly obsessive as ever" The man takes a step off the roof, but mysteriously, he doesn't fall and continues to walk as if there's an invisible platform. "If people saw you like this, I wonder how fast your image would crumble"
