Chapter 41 - Chapter 14.1

After several days of quiet and rebuilding, morning arrived, filled with a fragile sense of safety. The air, once heavy with the scent of gunpowder, blood, and decay, was now fresh, carrying the smell of damp earth, newly sprouted leaves, soft grass, and wet wood. The bunker still groaned from the damage, but the survivors moved with renewed confidence, rearranging the remnants of furniture, sealing cracks in the walls, helping each other. Their faces no longer reflected fear, only fatigue and cautious relief.

Min-jun and So-hyun sat on a pile of rubble, their bodies entwined, hands locked together, fingers clenched as if letting go were impossible. Min-jun felt every breath of So-hyun, the beat of his heart, the subtle tremor of muscles beneath his fingers. So-hyun, in turn, felt Min-jun's warmth, his strength and vulnerability, hearing the rhythm of his heart through the bracelet, through every touch of their palms.

They spoke no words — all emotions were communicated through touch. Min-jun ran his fingers through So-hyun's hair, feeling its silky texture and the faint scent of sweat mixed with fresh air. Foreheads pressed together, breaths mingling: dry, uneven, with a light tremor in the chest. The world outside ceased to exist — there were only the two of them, the warmth of their bodies, and the soft light reflecting from the debris.

The sun slowly rose, bathing the rubble in golden light that reflected on the Stella crystal lying between them. Min-jun touched the bracelet; his fingers felt a soft warmth, responding to So-hyun's touch. His heart raced, yet a sense of peace settled within him: everything they needed was here — beside them, in these quiet touches, in their breathing, in the beating of their hearts.

They stayed like this, motionless, united in body and soul, until the world outside the bunker felt distant and insignificant.
