Chapter 69 - Chapter 3: Krofun

"I will say it again, it's a foolish plan," Luu spoke, without caring for his friend's feelings.

"I support Luu on this. From my sources, Ruu's strength is rivaling Grandpa. And I don't know how much he gained from his recent trip to the Arcane Verse." Nuu chipped in to support Luu.

"What are you both worried about? At worst we will enter the gate of reincarnation.

I don't know about you guys, but with the bloodline restriction I have no hope of undergoing Third Transformation." Auu's dark and gloomy voice silenced everyone instantly; Yuu's words had gotten the better of him, and he couldn't continue seeing the R branch dominate the Clan.

Soul Dragons are one of the noblest creatures of the Verse, possessing a bloodline that grants immense strength.

However, this comes at a cost.

The same bloodline that gives them immense strength becomes unbreakable chains, preventing them from undergoing a Third Soul Transformation.

All four of them had undergone their Second Soul Transformation before Ruu was even born. However, in just a few eras, Ruu left them in the dust.

"It doesn't matter if you guys agree or not, I am going through with the plan. I can't continue cutting the resources of the younger generation." Yuu was quite pleased with Auu's words

As Ascension Verse is dominated by the Ki path, the resources for the Soul path are scarce.

Before, when the four branches had total control of the Frokuin World, they could barely keep up with the resource demands of the younger generation. However, after the rise of another branch, the lives of young Soul Dragons became miserable.

The resources they once got for free now had to be earned by doing missions or undergoing trials.

For Soul Dragons, who are inherently the laziest creatures in the Verse, even simple missions like maintaining law and order in the Frokuin World seemed like hard labour.

"This is a foolish plan. What if Fruu has already sealed his bloodline?" Nuu didn't want to be a part of such a crazy plan.

"That's impossible! Do you think sealing bloodlines is so easy? If it were, we would have already undergone the Third Transformation." Yuu didn't care about Nuu's warning.

Sealing bloodlines is possible in two ways, and each is filled with countless tribulations.

One way is to start sealing the bloodline before awakening, though this method comes with the cost of a limited lifespan.

Many tried, but none succeeded.

The other way is to strengthen the bloodline to its absolute limit and then either completely seal it off or break through its limitations.

These methods may sound easy, but they aren't. Up till now, only two Soul Dragons have managed to seal off their bloodline, and only one was able to break the limitations of hers.

"Do as you please. I am not going to shoot myself in the foot." Saying so, Nuu's Soul projection disappeared.

They had originally banded together to resist the growing influence of the R branch. However, recently Yuu and Auu's ideas were getting out of hand.

"What about you?" Seeing Nuu back out, Yuu turned to Luu.

Although Yuu was confident that with Auu's help he could force Truu to enter the gate of reincarnation, an extra hand is always a good thing.

"I will help you." After seeing Yuu's determination, Luu looked at him for a while before agreeing to help.

"Great, that settles it." A smile appeared on Yuu's old face as Luu agreed.

Leaving the exosphere, Grandmaster Ruu entered empty space.

Hovering above Planet Frokuin, he scanned the surroundings with his divine sense and quickly locked onto the nearest planet.

"There it is." Fixing on the Krofun star system's new location, Ruu let himself loose.

In an instant, his Dragon Soul expanded a hundredfold, and he shot toward the Krofun star system at a pace nearing the speed of light.

Eight years passed in the blink of an eye before he finally arrived.

"What a tough ride… I should've bought cosmic protection robes." Entering the Krofun star system, Grandmaster Ruu noticed the state of his clothes.

They were torn in countless places, as if slashed by endless Ki blades.

"Restoration!"

Using the most useless spell in his arsenal, Ruu restored them to perfection before heading toward Planet Krofun.

The only life planet in the star system.

"Halt! You are approaching Planet Krofun, and I, as the Guardian appointed by the Magic Council, command you to stop!"

Just as Ruu began shrinking his moon-sized Dragon Soul, a voice rang out and a Soul projection appeared before him.

"Kid, do I know you?" Although the cloaked projection hid its features, Grandmaster Ruu found the voice oddly familiar.

"How dare you call this Guardian a kid! I have been officially appointed by the Magic Council, and failing to comply means going against the Council itself." The projection's voice echoed through the vacuum of space.

"You're that kid, Fua, aren't you? Didn't expect you to undergo your second transformation so quickly." Ruu's Dragon Soul retracted, revealing his human form.

"Gra… gran… Grandmaster!! Why didn't you tell me you were coming? I would have arranged a welcoming ceremony. Ah, right—you don't even know about my appointment. I still haven't written to you!" Seeing Grandmaster Ruu's human form appear, Fua completely lost it.

Even before becoming a Saint, Grandmaster Ruu was famous throughout the Verse for his unmatched alchemy skills.

Though he rarely appeared in public, his Soul projections and clones were spread across the Verse, providing countless alchemy services.

"No need. I'm in a hurry and need to use the Teleportation Formation." The only reason Ruu even remembered Fua was because of the race he belonged to.

He belonged to a race of slime-like creatures with long tentacles. Most of them never awakened in their entire lifetime, and the rare few who did are exceptionally gifted.

"I will immediately have someone prepare the formation." Without asking any questions, Fua hurried off to start the teleportation formation.
