Senshiyu ichizoku no botsuraku
-千手一族の没落-
(The Fall of the Senju Clan)
Part 1 : The paradise of Hashirama Senju
The door opens wide into the great marble hall. On the floor is a carpet, where a little girl plays with cubes. The place is a rather rich environment, which seems to belong to an important person.
It's that person who's just arrived, walking through the front door and onto the landing. He was finally home from work.
— Grandpa!» exclaimed the little girl, rising from the carpet to head off in the direction of the man.
She ran towards him and hugged him warmly. Her face was radiant, she looked... All the happiest things in the world.
The man gave her a warm look, a slight smile on his face. He was dressed in a white and red robe, with the fire sign in the center.
— You're still not asleep... Tsuna?» he said, amused.
— I don't feel like it.» she mumbled. «I wanted to see you go home.»
— Your parents won't be happy... You have to sleep, it's very important at your age.»
— It's okay, I'll sleep in...» she replied.
— Tsss... You've got an answer for everything!» laughs the man. «You're just as smart as your mother!»
— Tsunade!!»
Suddenly, a shout of annoyance rang through the room. A man came through a door on the other side of the room.
— Oh... Mino... Greetings.» saluted the man who had entered earlier.
— Greetings... Lord Hashirama... I'm very sorry... My daughter does as she pleases...» said the other, embarrassed.
You got that from me, though, Tsuna.» affirmed Hashirama to his granddaughter.
He then turned to Mino.
— You know... You can just call me Hashirama. I don't consider myself a "lord". I consider the whole village my family, so "Hashirama" is enough. Especially for you, you're still my son-in-law.»
— I'm sorry, but... I'm... I'm... It's hard to get used to.» Mino stammered.
— What about me? Can I call you Hashirama?» Tsunade asked, her eyes shining.
— No... No need. You're my little girl. "Grandpa" is a better term of endearment, isn't it?»
— I have friends who say that their grandparents find it unkind to call them that.»
— Ha! Ha! Ha!» Hashirama laughed «I'm not that senile! I'm aware of my old age!»
— But you're not old! You're the strongest!» Tsunade replied.
— I've done my time. My regeneration keeps me in good shape, but I'm still weaker than before.»
— You mean you were even stronger!»
Mino approached Tsunade and took her by the arm.
— Believe me... You have no idea how powerful your grandfather is.» he asserted «Now, off to bed!»
He grabbed her and slung her over his shoulders to take her to the stairs at the back of the room, leading to the upper floor where the bedrooms were.
Tsunade struggled not to leave, but in vain.
— Pfff! No fair!» she cried.
Hashirama smiled as his little girl protested. He saw her disappear upstairs, following her with admiring eyes. Then he left, heading for the living room where Mino had come from.
— Dad!»
His daughter was sitting on the sofa, slumped over.
— You look very tired, tell me, Shinara...» said Hashirama.
She huffed. Tiredness was clearly visible in her dark circles and half-closed eyes.
— I spent an incredible amount of time working today... There was a fire in the East Zone of the village... We had to intervene to transport and treat the injured. I spent my morning... And my evening.»
Shinara was a doctor, treating the injured in disasters. It was a passion she had inherited from her parents. They were both considered the best doctors in the ninja world.
— I'm really sorry about that... You don't have to do this, you know.»
Hashirama sat down beside his daughter and put a hand on her shoulder for support.
— Maybe I've talked too much about it as a child...» he ironized «But... It's good for an old man like me to see that my daughter has as big a heart as her mother.»
— Especially my father.» she complimented.
He smiled and held her a little tighter against him, out of affection.
Hashirama led a happy life. To tell the truth, after so much war, he had everything he wanted. Nowadays, there were far fewer ninjas, which allowed the development of other fields even more useful than the military.
His family hadn't had to live through the hell of war. He'd had his daughter late in life, because he and his wife, Mito Uzumaki, didn't want a child growing up in the midst of war. As a result, his only child wasn't even a ninja. At least he didn't have to worry too much about her.
His daughter, on the other hand, had had the opportunity to develop the family further. He had the joy of inheriting three grandchildren. The eldest, Ozaya, was a young boy of 7. This was followed by Jidda, a 6-year-old girl. And finally, Tsunade, the youngest, currently aged 4.

Today, Hashirama was already 53 years old. He was at an age when most ninjas were retiring. The wars had worn out many of the village's members, and once they reached a certain age, they were no longer able to carry out their missions as they used to.
But Hashirama was an exception. Apart from the fact that he was better preserved than others, and that even diminished his power remained the greatest in the ninja world, he was Hokage.
The workload was so heavy that he was constantly busy. Lately, he's been dealing mainly with paperwork, business with other villages and the distribution of missions. The village was so powerful that his skills weren't particularly needed, as the enemy didn't dare to attack.
In short, this world was gradually approaching the paradise Hashirama had always dreamed of... Well, "Hashirama"... No, to tell the truth, he hadn't been alone... But... It was complicated.
With so much thinking, and especially with fatigue, Hashirama fell asleep, his head resting on that of his daughter. This life... It really was what he'd always dreamed of.
*****
The moon lit up the dark sky. A man stood at the top of the Hokage building, looking out over the landscape.
— Beautiful...» he said.
His eyes glowed scarlet in the dark. In the night, it was all we could see... And the moon's rays.
— Our plan will soon be in place...» he laughs «Master... Soon...»
— Hey, you!» shouted a voice from further away.
The man turned around in surprise.
«Amazing... I didn't even see it coming...» he thought.
A man then teleported immediately behind him and delivered a violent blow that propelled him down the Hokage building.
— What are you doing here...» Uchiha?!» grumbled the man.
The man with the scarlet pupils stood up and looked at the man facing him.
— Tobirama Senju...» he murmured «No... I can't face such an adversary... Too bad.»
Suddenly, in a black swirl, he disappeared. Just then, the man landed where he had been before.
— Tsss...! Dirty! He got away!» he swears.
The man then raised his right index finger.
«This doesn't look good...» he thought «I'd better go and warn the night ninja squads...»
Then, suddenly, he disappeared.
Milky-white lightning flashed across the sky. The storm grew. All this... sounded like a bad omen.
This world of peace... Would be no more forever.
