Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Kemran's POV

I walk into my room, wondering what I'm going to do now. Sooner or later, my father is going to call me for a mission.

I move to the center of the room and sit on the floor.

If that man can talk to me, then maybe I can talk to him.

Alright, here goes. I take a deep breath and close my eyes.

After a few minutes of silence, I feel my soul leave my body, heading I don't know where. When my feet touch solid ground, I slowly open my eyes and immediately realize I'm not in my room.

" Where am I this time?" I asked

"I see you're quick to notice your surroundings." said the figure

" Do you really think I'd decorate my room this white?" I said sarcastically

"I know you well. You only like black." said the figure

" Alright then, just tell me what you wanted to say." I said

"There's not much I can tell you. It's up to you to find out." s1id the figure

" Great. More riddles." I said

" My dear boy, I cannot speak to you directly. But remember this:

The past cannot be erased, the present will be frozen, and the future—there won't be one." said the figure

" What the hell does that even mean!?" I screamed

" That… is for you to discover, my dear." said the figure

The figure vanishes like mist.

This is madness. That sage is just some old lunatic. But I'll never join them. I'd rather die.

Someone knocks. I would've been mad if this happened while I was still speaking with that old man.

I open my eyes—I've kept them closed for a while—and I already know who it is.

" Come in, Father." I said

My father walks in, while my mother stays outside… along with the curse. Or maybe I should just call her my sister.

" Kemran, I have a mission for you." He said it in a cold tone. As expected.

"Ready to kill, my lord." I said in a rough voice. I already know—if my father's sending me on a mission, it's to kill. And I've got a bad feeling this is about Harmony and Silver Moon.

He clears his throat and speaks with an almost dominant tone.

"You're going to London to kill the Princess of the Sorcerers." said my Father

See? Just like I thought.

And now he's going to say that the future Alpha of SM—short for Silver Moon—will also be there on a mission to kill her, so I'm supposed to let them fight and kill the winner. Which won't be the Princess of Harmony, obviously.

" The future Alpha of Silver Moon will also be there, on the same mission. You know what you have to do." he continued

" Yes, my lord. You can leave my room now." I replied with irritated tone

"Be ready."

My father leaves after saying that. Whatever. I don't care.

So I have to go to university and blend in with humans. Great. What a mission.

I need to brace myself for the worst, since we don't even know if she's a sorceress or not.

Whatever happens, I'm ready for anything.

Naynah's POV

I storm into my room and try to focus so I don't break everything around me.

" Calm down." said Ava

" I'm so done. I just want to be alone and smash everything to pieces." I said

"I know. I feel it too. They all think we're weak. We need to change that." said Ava

I hate living here. I'm sick of pretending to be the perfect daughter of the Alpha.

I just want to escape.

I growl in frustration.

Author's POV

While Naynah is having her meltdown, her mother, Naylinah, is still in her office, talking on the phone.

" Are you sure about this, Omega?" said Naylinah

" Yes, Alpha. King Nevine is sending his eldest daughter to London to keep her away from royal affairs." said the Omega

" Have you discovered anything else?" asked Naylinah

" His eldest son will be crowned next year." replied the Omega

" Good. Keep gathering any relevant information." said Naylinah

" Yes, Alpha." said the Omega

Naylinah hangs up just as someone knocks on her door.

" Come in." said Naylinah

Athèna walks in.

" Line... " started Athèna.

" What is it?" said Naylinah.

" I… I found my mate." said Athèna

That word hits Naylinah like a bomb. She clenches her jaw. Athéna sighs.

" Who?" asked Naylinah

"The Beta's son from X-Zan, Liam." replied Athèna

"Well… at least he's not from another pack." said Naylinah

Athéna bites her lip.

" Actually… he is." said Athèna

" He what?" asked Naylinah

" He's the Alpha of Red Moon." replied Athèna

Naylinah's jaw drops slightly. Athéna watches her big sister carefully.

" No. Reject him. He can't be your mate." said Naylinah

"Line..." said Athèna

" I promised Mom and Dad I'd protect you with my life if I had to. I won't let you go so far away. You're the daughter of the Alpha of Silver Moon, dammit. You're meant to be Luna? I trained you to be Alpha, not someone's Luna. I won't accept it. Besides, that pack is way too far." said Naylinah

" Line, please. He's my fated mate. The Goddess created him for me, and me for him. I know it's not ideal, but I'll prove I can be Alpha. It's hard for you to believe in me, but please, trust me. Let me apply everything you've taught me. Let me fly on my own.Because here, we both know… I'll always be in the shadow." said Athèna

" What do you mean?" asked Naylinah

"Naynah is the future Alpha of Silver Moon, Line. You trained me to be an Alpha, but not here, because the title is already taken. Please, Line… let me go with Liam. I promise I'll become an Alpha too, and I'll make Red Moon the strongest pack—second only to Silver Moon."said Athèna looking at her sister, whose eyes are flashing, her wolf fighting for control.

" Don't let her go. She's under our protection." said Elexis

Elexis growled in Naylinah's head.

" Her mate will protect her." replied Naylinah

She cuts off the link to her wolf.

"Very well. You can go with Adam." said Naylinah

" Thank you, Li—" start Athèna but

" But only on one condition." interrupted Naylinah

She cuts in. Athèna watches her with growing concern.

" What condition?" asked Athèna.

"That you call me every day." said Naylinah

Athèna sighs in relief and smiles.

"Thank you, Line. You're the best big sister in the world." said Naylinah

She hugs her tightly.

"I'll call Liam right away. And I'll talk to Naynah too." said Athèna

" She's going to miss you a lot." said Naylinahb

Athéna gives a sad smile.

"I'll miss her too. I'll leave you now, Alpha." said Athèna

She turns to go.

" Oh—one more thing." said Naylinah

Athèna stops and turns her head with a raised brow.

" Tell Liam to come to dinner. I want to meet the guy who's taking my little sister away." said Naylinah

" Yes, Alpha." said Athèna

She turns and leaves. Naylinah sits back in her chair, already expecting her wolf to make a scene.

" Are you insane, Naylinah? You let our sister leave with a stranger!?" said Elexis

She screams in her head.

" He's her mate." replied Naylinah

"So what?! You should've told her to reject him!" said Elexis

Her voice roars in anger.

" I did. But she begged me to let her prove herself." said Naylinah

" She could've done that here, couldn't she?" said Elexis

"No. She's right. As long as she stays, she'll always live in Naynah's shadow." said Naylinah

"Still… she's going far away from us. What about our promise?" said Elexis

" What do you want? For her to suffer the pain of rejection?" said Naylinah

Elexis falls silent.

"As I thought… I should have thought twice before telling her to reject him. We both know that the pain of rejection is the worst of all pains, especially for us Alphas by blood. She could've died from it—and so could he.If not death… then they would've lost their minds. Do you understand now?" explained Naylinah

Elexis lets out a frustrated sigh and retreats to the back of Naylinah's mind.

Naylinah pours herself a glass of wine and stares into it.

" Am I wrong…? Mom… Dad…" said Naylinah. She closes her eyes, remembering her moments with her parents and her sisters.

The laughter. The teachings. The warmth of their voices. The sense of safety when their father looked at them with pride.

The stories their mother told them at night by the fireplace.

Her chest tightens, and a tear slips down her cheek.

" I miss you... I hope I made the right choice." whispered Naylinah

The room falls into silence, the only sound being the soft clink of her glass on the wooden desk.

Outside the window, the wind howls gently—a sign that change is coming.

And it's already begun.
