Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

Kerman's POV

It's been weeks since I last saw the princess—or anyone, for that matter. It's as if she vanished from the face of the earth. But honestly? I don't care. That just makes my mission easier.

The future Alpha kept staring at me during every class. Even though she knows being near me causes her pain. Maybe she doesn't realize it, or maybe she tells herself it's nothing. But recently… she hasn't been paying any attention to me. Why?

Kendrick has been too interested in that princess ever since she disappeared. He keeps asking if we've seen her, and it irritates me. I don't like how focused he is on her.

I overhear a conversation between the Alpha triplets.

"Math, are you sure about this?" asked Octavius

"Yes, I'm telling you. She wants us to come to her apartment tonight." said Mathieu

"She's strong. You know she won't just give in that easily." said Norgan

"You'll see." said Mathieu

I don't know which girl they're talking about—and I don't care. But then I notice the future Alpha walking toward them, acting seductive. What the hell is she playing at?

"Hey guys, ready for tonight?" said the Alpha

"Yes." said Mathieu

Octavius and Norgan stare at her, dumbfounded. Then I realize… they were talking about her.

"You're really accepting our advances?" asked Norgan

He looks confused.

"You're way too sexy. So why not?" said The Alpha, She winks at them and walks away.

"We're going to have so much fun, guys." said Mathieu

He grins from ear to ear. No. Never. I'll never accept this. She's mine. Only mine.

The rest of the day I can't focus. First, the princess's sudden disappearance. Now, the future Alpha trying to get with the triplets. I've had enough. Even if being with me hurts her, she is and will always remain mine.

Today, we have that special elite class again.

"You still haven't seen Athènia? It's been weeks since she last came." said the pathetic professor, Kendrick

That's it. I can't take it anymore. His words pour acid into my fury. I want to kill him.

"Sounds like you've got a crush on that girl." I said

My tone is almost threatening.

"Of course not. She's my best student. And if her father finds out she isn't here, he'll kill us all." said Kendrick

I roll my eyes. As if the great king of Harmony could ever scare me. Then I notice the princess's friend raise her hand.

"Don't worry, sir. I'm sure Athènia is fine. And I'm certain she'll come back." said the princess's friend.

"You've seen her?" said Kendrick

"No. But Athènia is strong." said said the another princess's friend

"Then I'll take your word for it. Let's begin." said Kendrick

We start the obstacle course again—torture, as always. The princess had always handled it with such ease, but for the rest of us, it's hell. Hours later, my anger only grows, especially when I see the Alpha flirting with the triplets.

When class ends, we all head our separate ways. The princess's friends leave in her car. I still don't understand how she allows them to drive it while she's absent from the university. Meanwhile, the future Alpha gets into a taxi, heading for her apartment.

No way she's sleeping with those pathetic triplets. She just wants to mess with me.

I take a taxi to my own apartment. Once inside, I throw myself on the bed. Vampires can't stay under the sun for too long, so I keep my routine strict: university, shopping for my needs, or hiding here. Until my mission is done, I'm trapped in this cycle.

But how do I execute my plan to kill one of them? That Alpha is strong. Despite all the pain I've inflicted on her by being with Vera, she's still standing. From what I know of werewolves, the pain of rejection can be unbearable—even fatal.

Then it hits me. A sharp, abnormal pain in my lower stomach. No… no, no, no. She's really… with them.

Fury consumes me. I ignore the pain, storm out, and head straight to her apartment building. I slam against the door, but it doesn't budge.

"F***ing hell!" I cursed

There's another way in—the window. Without hesitation, I speed to the terrace. I climb up, grip the railing, and with one hard kick, the window bursts open.

I step inside. The triplets are gathered around the Alpha. Blinding rage overtakes me. Using my speed, I shove them all out of the room before they even realize what happened, then lock the door behind them.

"Guys? Where are you?" asked the Alpha.

Her voice is cold—but softer than usual. I run into her room and find her wearing a loose shirt with a few buttons undone, pajama pants, and a blindfold covering her eyes.

"What the hell are you doing?" asked the Alpha.

She rips off the blindfold and stares at me, shock flickering in her eyes. She jumps to her feet.

"You? What are you doing in my room?" asked the Alpha

Kerman: "What were you doing with those guys?"

My voice is sharp and furious. She raises a questioning eyebrow.

"I can do whatever I want. It's my life." she said

I grab her arms. A jolt of electricity surges through my veins at her touch. The sensation is intoxicating.

"You're mine. The only one you're allowed to be with… is me." I said

Visibly angry, she pushes me back—hard. Too hard. I slam against the wall.

"Stop this nonsense and get out of my room before I—" she said but I cut her off, crushing my lips against hers.

Tonight is going to be a long night.
