Chapter 2 - Chapter 2:Innocence in a Blanket

As the sunset was slowly arriving and casting a warm glow. Yuya and her Grandpa would gaze out into the fire of the fireplace, warm their hands and eventually sleep. All was peaceful, calm, serene and seem to be in order. That was until later on in the evening. Yuya's mother knocked in the wooden cabin door. This startled Fafir as he quickly rose from his slumber and answered the door. He looked down and saw his daughter Meiyuros. "Ah. Here to pick her up already? I didn't realise it was 8 o'clock. Time flies by when you're having fun I suppose right Meiyuros?" Fafir would say to his daughter.

"Yes. I suppose. But I need to talk to you about something dad. Its..HIM..again..Yuya's father.." Meiyuros would say as she sat on the bed next to a sleeping Yuya. Fafir pulled up a chair and sat across from his daughter and granddaughter. "I see..I know your relationship with him has been..rocky but I did urge you to be cautious." Fafir pointed out. "I know..Papa..he's been a fucking dick as of late. Always being gone, never answering my calls, saying he's at work but.. what I think...I think.." Meiyuros hesitated.

"He's cheating on me. That or..he doesn't like the fact his wife and..more directly..his kid is a deity. " Meiyuros would say saddened by her possible guess. Fafir placed his large hands in his daughter's shoulder gently and smiled. "Meiyuros. I have notice Roben was..absent at Yuya's birth, not just that but also when she learned her first words. The man calls himself her father only when its present and fitting for him. At first I thought he was scared to be a father. Well..so was I. Destiny,Ourana, then you. What man isn't afriad to be a father? It takes time. And time proves we all make mistakes, but now that you mentioned he's been...distant. Perhaps it could be he doesn't understand."

Fafir noted as he gently patted Meiyuros on the back. "I've not been the most model father ya know. I was evil once, abusive and cruel..I must confess. It took the disappointment in Ourana's eyes to make me change." Meiyuros looked up to her grey haired father and saw that Fafir has changed. He was no longer that same evil man. But a changed one instead.

"From the pain, tyranny, heartbreak and overall Chaos you caused in your Hey day Papa. And what I learned..before I was even born. You needed to be stopped. I'm glad you changed. For your children. But I guess.." Meiyuros paused and kissed Yuya on her head. "In a indirect way, your saying. If even someone like you can change. Someone who was literally thr God of Evil..and regret all the heinous crimes you've done..then. I guess. So can Roben." Meiyuros said not believing those words.

"I don't know. The way he looks at Yuya, like he's disgusted with her. Sure she takes after him physically. Pink hair, yet long like mine, his purple eyes and brown skin, but she can't help were she comes from. I just feel..like she's not worth his time." Meiyuros said as she shed a few tears. Fafir hugged Meiyuros and held his daughter tight.

"It isn't your fault my daughter, nor Yuya's. It's only Roben. And Roben will have to face the music one day. Just focus on those who matter. That little girl right there. Us as your family and your friends." Fafir giggled as Yuya slowly awoke from her nap and looked at her Momma and Grandpa.

"Mom? Is Daddy gonna pick me up from school tomorrow? He said he had a surprise for me." Yuya said cheerfully.

"Did he now? Well sweety. If he doesn't. Momma will send one of your aunts to pick you up instead. Or..Granny Luna. She's off work for three weeks. You could maybe do some deity training with her. Sound like fun sweety?" Meiyuros said picking Yuya up and cradling her into her arms.

"Granny Luna? Oooooo..so cool. She taught you everything you know right Momma? Think how strong I'll be once I get older hehe. I'll be a Hero just like her. Save the day, beat up the bad guys and even sent them to jail haha." Yuya said with enthusiasm. She jumped off her Mom's lap and packed up her things in a bag and grabbed some smore to but in a clear tubaware bowl.

"Granmpy. Imma take a few of these if that's ok. I'm sure aunty Ourana and Destiny want some hehe. Oh and Aunt Ocey. I can't wait to see her again from her trip abroad. Mom says shes very pretty." Yuya would smile. Fafir remembered the awkward times of being Ocielia's stepfather. At first the teo didn't get along and would fight. Ocielia would often hold Fafir accountable for the evil things he'd done in the past, and yet. Over time the white haired young woman and her stepfather grew closer. That and Luna had to set Ocielia straight a few hundred times.

Today Ocielia is studying in university abroad at the age of 24. She teaches Yuya about how to understand her world, the people and culture. Due to this knowledge, Yuya may have a bit of a hard time fully comprehending it. Mainly due to her inherited impatience and boredom.

"Anyways sweety. Why don't we say goodbye to Grampy. It's time to get you home. School is tomorrow and you gotta get to bed." Meiyuros would say as she gave her father a silent yet well meaning nod as to keep the conversation about Roben a secret from Yuya. Fafir would wave goodbye and shut the door behind him. Meiyuros and Yuya would walk home and talk.

"Mom? I think I heard you cry earlier. Is everything ok? Was it the onions Grampy had in the kitchen? Hehe. I built up a immunity to those." Yuya would joke. Meiyuros would stop walking and kneel to Yuya's height.

"Listen to me Pinkbean. Mommy was upset..but it's not about you. You aren't the one who I'm frustrated with." Meiyuros would say as she knew her daughter was a little more mature and wise for kids her age. So she hugged Yuya and continued.

"Oh. If not me. Then Great Grandma Skyra?,Great Granda Zuma?,Granny Luna,Great Aunt Azou or your sisters? I think I understand why you be mad at them. But you taught me that's just how families are,we all disagree on stuff." Yuya would shrug and pat her mom's head

"No..sweety..but I do have a question to ask you. Does...does.." Meiyuros hesitated not wanting to shatter her daughter's innocence and especially how she feels about her daddy.

"Does what Mom? What?" The pink haired little girl asked her mother.

"Fuck it." Meiyuros sighed. "I'm frustrated with your Daddy...does he..does he treat you differently than anyone else?" Meiyuros would ask knowing it was a loaded question for a eight year old. No matter the maturity.

Yuya would ponder and think on anything she may've noticed from Roben. At any point. She was bad at paying attention. "Not really Mom. Daddy is just very busy. I think. He does call me Sprout,Pinkbean just like you did or his Mini me. But I don't notice anything. Why ya ask?" Yuya would say once again innocently. Meiyuros shook her head and laughed.

"Because Daddy isn't like us. He's not...a goddess. Not like you or me. We are beings with much greater power and responsibility. What you should know is this. There will be those who are envious, jealous, hateful and spiteful of you..all because of it. I only tell you this to prepare you. Ya understand?"

Meiyuros said to a surprised yet shocked Yuya. "Now that ya mentioned it. I have always felt faster and stronger than the other kids at school, some would runaway from me even. But that doesn't bother me. Hehe. Because my mom is how did Great Granny Skyra say it? Oh yeah a badass!!" Yuya shouted excitedly.

"Language missy. Great Granny Skyra isn't one to uh..be around. She's the reason your grandma Luna and I swear now. That woman is the progenitor of chaos..and people say I'm bad. Geesh. She's far worse. 52 years old and still causing a fuss." Meiyuros said as she scooped Yuya up into her arms.

"Now. Off we go. To home. We have your aunts waiting for us." Meiyuros said taking off and flying into the air and blitzing pass the clouds, trees and forest. Soon the pair would arrive at a standard home with a white picket fence, red and white siding,a black slanted roof and had three floors and a basement. The lawn was very spacious and several other houses were spread far and wide. Once the two went inside. Yuya took off her shoes and ran to the living room and jumped on a odd shape lump. "Owww! Yuya. That hurt. It's me! Aunty Destiny!!" Said the woman under the green cover that made her a lump on the couch.

"Oops. Sorry auntie. I was so excited to try out my Super Jump move!" She would giggle. Destiny would remove the green cover and brush aside her long white hair. She would hold Yuya tight and kiss her cheek.

"Little rugrat. Chaotic just like your Momma. I swear. How was Grampy time? Ya had fun my niece?" Destiny would ask as she revealed more of her grey skin and green eyes. Yuya nodded and poked her aunt's tummy and snickered.

"Is that laughing I hear? Sounds like my little niece is home!" Said a womanly voice from the kitchen. A young woman with fair skin, long crimson red hair and silver eyes would walk into the living room with trays of food in each hand. Her powerful muscles would hold each plate confidently and elegantly. "The more I see those silver eyes Ourana. The more you look like Papa. Each and everyday." Meiyuros would say as she complimented her older sister.

" Why thank you. As daughter of the Beast God. It's my honor to share his looks. You only have one silver eye Mei and Destiny..well she's short. About four foot four hehe." Ourana would joke as she placed the trays of food down on the table and pick Yuya up off her feet.

"Your only two inches taller than me Ourana. Your mom was also short. What is your height again? 4 foot 6? Hehe. Well. Small woman do have a ton of power it seems." Destiny joked back. Yuya would giggle as she rested her head on her auntie's bosom. She felt safe and at home.

"Now now little rose. Ya gotta eat first before you sleep. Come on beautiful, time to eat." Ourana said as she placed Yuya down into a place to sit on the couch. The four would talk, laugh and eat in merriment. When they finsh, they all would watch a movie and gently fall asleep.

Life was a dream. All had seem right. Ah. But good things don't always last.
