Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Loguetown

Loguetown this the city where everything began and everything ended. That term had been used by those who wanted to become pirate king.

Because this is the birthplace and deathplace of Gol D. Roger. The sea breeze carried the faint scent of salt and smoke, and the streets were bustling with traders, travelers, and the Marines.

The Going Merry anchored quietly by the harbor, cloaked in Jack's illusion. The moment the Straw Hat Pirates stepped onto the harbo, they felt the difference because this wasn't some small East Blue town. This was the last island before entering the Grand Line.

Luffy inhaled deeply, eyes shining like a child seeing a carnival.

"Whoaaa! This place is huge!"

Sanji exhaling slowly with a grin. "City of beginnings, huh? Perfect place to find ingredients worthy of east blue cuisine."

Zoro cracked his neck, his tone more serious. "I just need new swords. The cheap ones broke after that last fishman fight."

"Uh, guys? You do remember there's a Marine base here, right? I'm not saying I'm scared, but… maybe I should just stay on the ship and, uh, guard it?" said Usopp while adjusting his goggles nervously, peeking around.

"Sure, Guard it from your imagination," Zoro smirked.

Usopp frowned, puffing his chest. "Hey! I'm just being strategic!"

But when Zoro mentioned he'd be heading into town, Usopp quickly blurted,

"Actually… maybe I'll come with you! You know… as backup!"

Luffy threw his arm up. "Let's split up, then! I wanna go see the execution platform, the place where the adventure of pirate king end!"

"Alright. Everyone be careful. Marines here aren't like the ones we fought before, most of them are good marine, if you want to fight just don't kill," Jack advised them calmly.

Sanji adjusted his tie. "Don't worry, they didn't know my face."

As they split, Zoro hopped toward the harbor alone followed by Usopp, he was scared to walk alone because his face had been known. So it is more safe to walk with Zoro, he can protect him. d

But Zoro expression soured as soon as he looked into his coin pouch, it is empty.

He froze. "Tch. I forgot… I'm broke."

Usopp crossed his arms while blurted. "You always are."

So, Zoro turned to the one person who always had money, it was Nami who are ready to go down with Nojiko

"Oi, Nami," Zoro said flatly. "I want to borrow Money."

Nami raised an eyebrow without looking up. "A loan? Sure, I'll give you one." She scribbled on a small notepad and handed him a paper. "But with 300% interest."

Zoro squinted at it. "WHAT!? 300% interest? Are you out of your mind?!"

Nami smiled sweetly. "It's a friend discount. Normally, I charge 500%."

"You're ruthless," Usopp whistled.

Before Zoro could explode, a hand gently landed on Zoro shoulder and it was Jack.

"Enough, Nami," Jack said, his voice calm but firm. "Don't cheat your own crew. We're not enemies."

Nami froze for a moment, then frowned slightly. "I wasn't cheating, just... "

Jack raised a hand, and a soft shimmer of golden energy appeared in his palm. He had hold some wood and it transmuted, turning into solid gold.

"Money's not a problem," Jack said simply. "If the crew needs something, we'll get it, don't let greed cloud your heart."

Nami looked down, ashamed. Her voice softened. "You're right… I just.... I'm used to surviving by any means."

Hearing this Nojiko hugged Nami, "I am here Nami, you don't need to steal anymore."

Jack's expression softened too. "Then learn to trust, Nami. This crew isn't like the others."

"Thanks, Jack. You just saved me from highway robbery," Zoro crossed his arms and nodded approvingly.

Nami glared at him lightly. "You still owe me for emotional damage."

Jack chuckled. "You two are hopeless."

They shared a small laugh. "Here, Zoro. Get yourself proper blades. We're heading into the Grand Line, you'll need them."

Zoro took the gold with a slight grin. "I'll make sure it's worth it."

As they parted ways, Nami followed Jack, still feeling a mix of guilt and relief. "Hey, Jack…" she said quietly. "Thanks. I guess I needed that reminder."

Jack glanced at her, smiling faintly. "You're welcome. Just remember.. gold's easy to make. Trust isn't."

Nami nodded, her heart a little lighter.

Meanwhile, an hour later

Luffy stood before the towering execution platform, staring up at it in awe.

"So this is where the Pirate King died…" he murmured, eyes wide. The sunlight shone on the executon platform. "And this is where my journey will begins, shishishi."

Suddenly buggy caught Luffy and the same thing that happen to One Piece series are happening right now.

.......

Meanwhile Sanji are bargaining for exotic spices and fresh seafood while searching a rare ingredient.

Few meters from him, are Usopp and Zoro entered a sword shop, Zoro are searching for a proper sword and he found the sword that he liked.

Sandai Kitetsu, this sword are a sword that being forged with a conqueror haki and normal haki leave a mark on sword and conqueror haki leave more than, thought it wasn't living sword but when a user use this sword, the haki that had been tempered on it will act like a curse.

If someone didn't have conqueror haki, the haki left there will reject the user and kill them slowly and that is why most people who use the kitetsu sword always die early.

The shopkeeper warned him of its curse, but Zoro only grinned. "Then let's see if the curse wants me dead." He tossed the blade up and it missed his arm by a hair. The shopkeeper turned pale.

Usopp screamed. "YOU'RE CRAZY!"

Zoro just smirked. "Guess I'm luckier than the curse."

He was saved because the conqueror haki left in sword, are harmonize with zoro conqueror haki.

P/S: Do you like the concept curse sword is because of the conqueror haki infused on it? I don't think the curse is like Imu magic but instead conqueror haki.
