A girl cuddled up to her younger brother. As she used his lap as a pillow, enjoying his caresses on her head.
"For someone being my older sister, you always act like you're the youngest one, so spoiled"
The younger brother teased her, his little grin was showing.
"Hey! Call me big sister!"
"You say that, but it's been years since, I even called you that, you should call me big brother"
"Fueeeee~"
She was going to say something, but the boy scratched her head. Making her close her eyes in bliss, as she became a subdued big sister. It was true what he said, even though she was a year older than him. She acted more spoiled than him, she was the one asking for cuddles, guidance and love.
Acting sweet and soft, for someone as serious like her. Only showing this side of her when they're alone. She was the eldest daughter of the Minamoto clan. Acting like the head of the clan should act.
Many would disagree of her taking over the clan. But she showed her strength, her prowess to take reign over the clan after her father.
"Onii-chan~"
She said it, acting cute for no reason. The boy chuckled as he acted mature for his age. Well, it was like that since he at a young age learned to fight. Learned to slay monsters and especially Oni's. His katana much like his sister Raikou.
"It's better this way, i'm your onii-chan"
"Stahp!"
She laughed as she was tickled, not minding one bit if she acted like the younger sister. Their roles had been reversed for a long time. Even, if she tried her best to have him refer to her as his big sister. It was futile, he was someone that just had the temper of an older sibling.
Even though father wanted to appoint him as head of the clan. He denied it, only wanting to support Raikou with whatever she needed help with. Even if she was almost forced to act and disguise herself more like a man. He gave in with the persistence of his son.
"Onii-chan is so mean!"
She giggled as he pulled her soft cheeks playfully. Receiving a cute glare from her, she was fine like this. They chatted some more, Raikou snuggled up to her brother. Until, she fell asleep on his lap, the boy sighed with a smile on his face.
Stroking her head softly, but it then turned into a sad smile. As his father Minamoto no Mitsunaka, wanted him to slay a famous Oni somewhere around Ōeyama, or preferably Mount Ooe. Also, they're ramping their defenses up.
Since, they're currently in war, the boy was killing his enemies. A war against clans from another land. Multiple of them, as they seek to take over theirs and many of their allies. If they slay the Oni's on the Mountain, maybe this could spread like wild fire. Making Many of head leaders of the opposing clan to fear them.
But also stay true to their clan's title.
His face was solemn, as he was feeling the weight of the war. Not wanting Raikou to be burdened to much. Especially, when she is part Oni, the hidden truth hidden by the clan. Only he and their father knew about this.
Or else...
The elder's would try to have her beheaded. As well as the other noble clans.

"W-Why!?"
A certain petite woman cried out to the man who was supposed to be her enemy. Her horns from her head were prominent. Many Clans from the Minamoto side and the one they're going to war with. Would want to kill them, they were Oni's and many superstition came from them that if they're killed.
They're granted a blessing, also to use them their horns, blood to forge weapon's more terrifying to kill Oni's faster.
As humans feared Oni's, especially where their origins come from. But this human who she stumbled upon long time ago. Wasn't afraid of her, wasn't there to kill her. He was curious, and she was on guard.
She did attack him first but he never tried to kill her, only defeat her and her subordinate. A man was bleeding out, as he fought against an army of warriors. They were his enemies, as they have fought the one's standing behind him. Two marvelous women, oozing with sex appeal even though they were petite.
They were tired, and battered from their early battle. They were rescued by him, the golden hair beauty felt her heart wretched seeing him defending them. She was the subordinate of the one beside her an Oni as well.
"Lord Nord! Stop! We'll surrender!"
She cried out, as she looked at her master. They were yards away, he couldn't listen to them. He was focused battling. His Katana in hand stained in blood, as he sliced each warrior coming to him.
"You're that brat! You're a traitor to humanity!"
"Hmph....We were enemies before"
"Surround him!"
"Master we must help him!"
"Ibaraki...."
The Omni muttered, she was weak right now, but she for sure was going to use her remaining strength to help the man who treated her equally. Even if she acted a little mighty being around him. Same with Ibaraki, as they both continued forward. Joining the battlefield once again, ignoring their pain.
"Shuten, Ibaraki! I told you to stay back!"
"You stupid man! I'm not staying back!"
She loved that about him, everything of him. Same could be said with her aide.
"Lord Nord! We'll fight by your side"
"Sorry, let me be selfish"
*Fwooosh*
He pushed them away with some sort of force. As they tried to run towards him, as he then destroyed the surroundings, especially the entrance to the castle. Causing it to rumble blocking both of their paths.
*Crumble*
"Stupid man!"
What they didn't notice, was the barrage of arrows fueled with magic power.
"Breath...Azagami Style: Kyosoni"

Instantly his hand move, in a smooth, swift motion. He wielded the katana with great expertise. Blocking the incoming barrage of arrows, some cut his cheek, leg, thigh, rib.
"Che!"
The troops were bewildered at the scene, sucha young boy who made his name across the lands.
"What are we waiting for!? Kill him!"
He was the son of that Minamoto, they would gain tremendous value killing him. They advanced forward shouting their battle cries. He then felt multiple attackers everywhere, he defended but he felt a deep cut to his left arm.
"I'm sorry girls"
He apologized to the three that included his sister. What he didn't tell them, was that the healing potion he gave them, had sleeping pills. It would take affect quickly, because of their Oni bloodline.

[Aftermath]
"Big brother!"
Raikou looked at the blood battlefield, body laying everywhere. She had so many questions why he was here, because he was no where to be found. Raikou shook him gently, she was crying hoping he was breathing.
But she checked his pulse, his breathing. He showed no signs of life, her worst fears came true.
"Big brother! Big brother! No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No!"
She saw him smiling in his final moments.
"Aaaaah!"
She screamed loudly, anger, sorrow, regret. Why did her brother had to die. He was her everything, above even her father. She had feelings for him, deep feelings that crossed the line as siblings. She regretted not having him close to her, to have him truly chain to her.
She noticed the symbol that the warriors carried. She knew it all to well, they belong to the enemies of the opposing side.
Her eyes were filled with hatred, as tears kept streaming down her face.
"I swear on my life, my very being.....I'll kill them all Big brother!"
She was fueled with purpose, and she wasn't going to stop and make them regret angering her.
"Lord Nord!"
Both Oni's shouted as they awoken from their slumber. They saw someone they didn't know about. But they knew the expression she wore, it was everything they were not about to have. Seeing him lifeless, while holding his katana in hand. Laying on her lap, as she looked at them and their horns.
"You!"
She quickly was about to put him down and attack them.
"We're friendly woman"
"Look, Lord Nord gave us this!"
Ibaraki quickly pulled an emblem, something Raikou knew all to well. Her breath hitched, she looked at it. It was something that only he would give out to those close to him. To those he trust, if he gave two Oni's who were supposed to be enemies.
He wasn't someone to be tricked, he was smart and calculative. Her emonasity dissapeared, making both Oni's sigh in relief. They were to weak right now.
Raikou saw how they look at her brother. They had the same feeling like her.
"You two...."
An era will soon change.
