Chapter 24 - Unnamed

Chapter 24 Another Wooden Sign

Liu Shixing's once stern features instantly contorted, his body slowly levitating into mid-air.

His face wasn't twisted entirely in pain, but rather in agony mingled with a smile, as if someone were simultaneously experiencing extreme agony and joy. It looked utterly bizarre,

  a completely unnatural expression.

At the same time, a powerful aura emanated from Liu Shixing, unlike that of a cultivator. It carried an inexplicable, eerie quality that made everyone present jump in their hearts.

Chen Ganer cursed, "Damn! He can actually fly?" This was the first time Chen Ganer had seen someone fly.

Seeing this, Liu Miao's expression and tone grew stern. "Liu Shixing's using his trump card!"

Chen Ganer's expression grew serious. "Could this trump card have come from the gray fog?"

Liu Miao asked. "Perhaps it originally came from the gray fog. I only know it came from a polluted island, and this is the first time I've seen him use it."

Chen Gan'er cursed inwardly. How could he encounter another island connected to those strange things in the gray fog?

Last time, it was that two-headed monster. What could it be this time? Why does Sanyin Island keep approaching these strange islands connected to the gray fog?

As Chen Gan'er cursed inwardly, Liu Shixing's distorted face appeared less than a foot away, staring at him intently.

The sudden approach startled Chen Gan'er, and he instinctively threw a punch.

Unexpectedly, the strange-looking Liu Shixing didn't dodge, letting the punch land on his face.

With a thud, a red mark remained on Liu Shixing's face. A

hint of ecstasy crossed Liu Shixing's face, a mixture of joy and pain.

He seemed to relish the blow, even rubbing it with his hand.

Chen Gan'er quickly jumped away after delivering the punch, his skin crawling with goosebumps at Liu Shixing's bizarre behavior.

Although Chen Gan'er disliked Liu Shixing's pretentiousness, he found this Liu Shixing even more terrifying.

Liu Miao shouted, "Let's attack together, or we won't be able to stop him."

He ignored the injury on his hand, once again channeling his spiritual energy to envelop his palm and slashing at the strange Liu Shixing.

Chen Gan'er suppressed his disgust and quickly attacked Liu Shixing again,

commanding the undead to attack him simultaneously.

  Several muffled sounds echoed.

Liu Miao was the first to be sent flying, followed by Chen Gan'er.

Only the undead retreated a few steps, remaining untouched.

Unlike the previous undead, which possessed numerous spells, this undead's spirit was stronger, but its attacks were primarily melee.

Even with the undead's aid, Chen Gan'er and the others were no match for Liu Shixing.

Chen Gan'er's current attacks primarily relied on close-quarters attacks, utilizing his strengthened form. His only known technique, Heart Fire Yangyan, was struggling to activate due to the dwindling spiritual energy within him.

Liu Shixing was now ghostly, his movements swift and suspended in mid-air. Chen Gan'er could barely discern his movements, let alone counterattack.

After several rounds, both Chen Gan'er and Liu Miao were battered.

After being knocked back again, Chen Gan'er lay helpless on the ground, feeling only pain all over his body, his spiritual energy nearly drained.

The next second, Liu Shixing's distorted face reappeared before him, barely three inches away. His red eyes, a contorted expression of pain and laughter, were clearly visible.

Chen Gan'er could even sense the breath of Liu Shixing's twisted face.

  "Damn it!"

Chen Gan'er cursed, forcing himself to punch Liu Shixing before scrambling to his feet.

"You little thief, you said you had a way to kill him? Where is it? If we don't use it now, this monster is going to kill us."

Chen Gan'er could sense that Liu Shixing had become a completely different person, constantly toying with them and not killing them immediately.

Otherwise, with Liu Shixing's current strength, killing them would have been easy.

Liu Miao spat out a mouthful of blood, a sinister grin on his face, and said to Chen Gan'er,

"Just trap him for a while. I have my own way to deal with it."

Chen Gan'er cursed inwardly at this.

Last time, when they met the shore, Chen Xuanlin had asked him to trap the two-headed monster for a while. Today, the shore thief was asking him to trap this strange Liu Shixing again.

Although Chen Gan'er was unhappy, he immediately ordered the undead to seize the opportunity to trap Liu Shixing.

However, Liu Shixing's movements were like a ghost, making it difficult to trap him. He could only wait for him to approach.

As soon as Chen Gan'er came up with this idea, Liu Shixing's weird face appeared in front of him again, almost touching his face.

  "I'll do it!"

After being fooled by Liu Shixing many times, Chen Gan'er was completely furious. This time he did not dodge or punch Liu Shixing again. Instead, he took the opportunity to hug Liu Shixing without being afraid.

Their faces were directly pressed together. Liu Shixing

, with a distorted face, did not seem to expect Chen Gan'er to do such a thing, and did not dodge for a while.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, the powerful undead spirit also hugged him.

For a moment, Chen Gan'er, Liu Shixing, with a distorted face, and the black-faced undead emitting a yin aura, the three bodies were tightly pressed together.

Chen Gan'er ignored the two weird faces in front of him and shouted:

"Little thief, use your method quickly, your uncle can't hold on any longer."

While Chen Gan'er briefly trapped Liu Shixing, Liu Miao, on the other side, used the blood from his own wound to draw a complex pattern on his chest.

He then approached the trapped Liu Shixing.

As Chen Gan'er stared in amazement, he tore open Liu Shixing's blood-stained brocade robe and reached for his chest.

Seeing Liu Miao's gesture, the pain on Liu Shixing's face deepened, and his playful expression grew even more joyful.

Pain mingled with playfulness, and Liu Shixing's face became increasingly contorted.

On Liu Shixing's chest lay a horrifying wound, and within it, a faint black object could be seen.

Chen Gan'er, who was hugging Liu Shixing, was increasingly shocked. How could a normal person survive with such a wound?

Liu Miao stretched out two fingers and, surprisingly, extracted the black object from the wound.

Chen Gan'er then saw that the object was a wooden plaque engraved with a pattern.

The moment Chen Gan'er saw the wooden sign, his eyes narrowed. This thing... it seemed like there was one in the warehouse on Sanyin Island.

Liu Miao ignored Chen Gan'er's expression and placed the wooden sign on the strange pattern drawn in blood on his chest.

The wooden sign, upon contact with flesh, sank into his flesh like a red-hot iron ball falling on ice.

Liu Miao let out a painful wail, but at the same time, a hint of playfulness slowly crossed his face.

Liu Shixing, whom Chen Gan'er was holding, lost the strength to struggle the moment Liu Miao removed the wooden sign.

The distorted expression on his face slowly cleared, eventually returning to the ordinary old man he had been when Chen Gan'er first met him.
