Chapter 95: Found
As he ate the roast chicken, Li Yao began thinking about going out tomorrow.
Tonight's bird was his last meal.
He had eaten all the food he'd brought before coming here.
Although he still had soldier pills, those were for emergencies—not daily sustenance.
He needed to go out and bring back more food.
"This time, I need to bring back enough for a month," he thought.
More supplies meant he could lie low longer, avoiding detection by Konoha's ninja.
After finishing his meal, he cleaned up the table and tossed the trash aside. A flock of seabirds swooped down, chirping wildly as they fought over the leftovers on the wooden deck.
Splash! At that moment, Li Yao released a Water Release jutsu from above, bathing himself—and unintentionally giving the birds a shower too.
Chirp chirp! Soaked, the birds flapped away, shook their feathers, then returned to resume feeding.
Li Yao didn't chase them away.
Their noisy squawking was actually comforting for someone alone like him.
This island of snakes had clearly been able to support so many venomous reptiles for a reason.
Many migratory birds stopped here, providing the snakes with plenty of food.
Now that Li Yao had cleared the snakes, the birds had reclaimed the land—and their numbers grew.
With their company, he didn't feel so alone.
Before long, the birds had cleaned the area of all scraps.
Li Yao, satisfied as if he'd been feeding pets, cast another Water Release jutsu to wash the deck clean.
Then, completely naked, he summoned two shadow clones.
They surrounded him, fingers spread wide, gathering chakra at their fingertips—and began inscribing a sealing array on Li Yao's body.
Devouring Seal Formation.
That was the sealing technique the clones were drawing on him.
The sensation of their chakra-infused fingertips pressing into his skin was oddly therapeutic—like being massaged with cooling oil.
In one word—comfortable.
In two—very comfortable.
After half an hour of this "massage," the sealing formation was complete. Li Yao tried to activate it.
As expected—no response.
He wasn't discouraged. Dismissing the clones, he stretched. After all that massaging, he felt loose and refreshed.
Back in his house, he dressed.
"I really need to find an Uzumaki to learn sealing knowledge from," he thought.
He wanted to replicate the Devouring Seal Formation he had seen in the Root base—transferring it onto himself to create a chakra storage seal.
That way, once his Death Gate and dantian were full of chakra, he could store the excess in the seal—saving it for emergencies.
But now, having shrunk and transplanted the array onto himself, it failed to activate—maybe because the positioning was wrong.
He'd tried every day for several days. It had become a kind of post-meal ritual: clone massages.
Li Yao realized that to properly use his ability to sense, copy, and manifest sealing chakra, he needed to actually study sealing theory.
If you asked what the strongest ninjutsu in the world was—
Besides space techniques, it had to be sealing jutsu.
Even someone as mighty as Kaguya Ōtsutsuki had been defeated by sealing.
Li Yao could copy sealing chakra if it entered his body—but that didn't mean he couldn't be sealed.
Just look at storage-space chakra.
If he were forcibly pulled into a space-flow-type sealing domain like that, without time to copy the chakra, he'd be helpless to escape.
So he never gave up on learning seals.
Right now, he was like a warrior who could duplicate legendary swords but didn't know how to forge one.
He needed knowledge of sealing—so he wouldn't be caught off guard.
"But… that's something for four years from now."
Fully clothed, he lay on the beach chair outside, staring up at the moon—his alone.
Four years.
Li Yao thought it over.
He decided to remain in seclusion on this island for four years.
He was twelve now. By sixteen, his body would be reaching peak physical maturity.
With four years of training, even if his body didn't reach Hashirama's level, it should at least give him chakra reserves on par with Kushina.
If he could truly break past his original talent limits—
With chakra twenty times greater than a standard jōnin, and flight techniques at his disposal, he could move freely across the ninja world.
At the very least, he wouldn't have to worry about running away.
Then he could hunt down others with powerful Kekkei Genkai to absorb:
Lava ReleaseBoil ReleaseExplosion ReleaseAnd even Dust Release
Or maybe even the gravity and repulsion powers of Nagato's Rinnegan. Could he copy that?
If so, Li Yao's power would reach the ceiling of the current ninja world.
At that point… the Third? Konoha? Minato?
He'd show them the color of his hatred, slowly and thoroughly.
The next morning.
Li Yao got up, washed, and went down to the base of the mountain.
With a thought, he activated Wood Release.
A tree root burst from the ground in front of him. He placed a sealing scroll into a notch at its tip and commanded the root to wrap around the scroll and bury it underground.
Then, he summoned the Black Iron Giant Eagle and took to the skies.
He sensed it clearly.
The scroll buried below carried his chakra, and within it, part of his fused consciousness—maintaining a clear connection that wasn't affected by burial.
In other words, Snake Island now functioned as a permanent pointer. No matter how far he flew, he wouldn't lose his way.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh… The eagle flapped its wings and soared toward the rising sun.
With the scroll on the island as a point of resonance, Li Yao didn't need to worry about veering off course. As long as he stayed away from it, he knew his direction was correct.
…
Sea of War, near the Land of Lightning.
A metal steamship chugged through the waves, a flock of seabirds circling overhead.
On the bow, the Third Raikage stood, scanning the horizon.
Behind him stood a middle-aged man with thick white hair and a Kumo forehead protector. One hand held a bucket of fish; the other fed small fish to the birds on his shoulder.
The birds grabbed the fish and—one in particular—leaned close to whisper into his ear, as if reporting something.
The man seemed to understand, listening carefully.
Soon, the bird turned away and eyed the fish bucket again.
He fed it another fish.
It ate, then reluctantly flew off.
From above, more birds dove down—but only one landed on his shoulder. The others hovered overhead, waiting their turn.
He repeated the process: feed, listen, feed.
Until a jet-black bird landed on his shoulder and chirped urgently.
The man's expression grew serious.
"Ninjutsu: Sensory Vision Link."
He performed a special technique. His eyes closed as the black bird's eyes turned white—entering a trance.
"Found him!"
The Third Raikage turned as the man finished his jutsu. His lips curled into a rare smile.
Six days of searching—and they finally had Li Yao's location.
Konoha had slowly leaked information about Li Yao during that time. Combined with their own intelligence network, they now confirmed: Li Yao was just a twelve-year-old boy.
When he first heard Li Yao's age, even the Raikage had been shocked.
A child of twelve had managed to contend—albeit briefly—with the mighty Uzumaki Mito. No matter what the cost, such talent couldn't be ignored.
Given time, that boy would grow into another demigod-tier ninja—like Hanzō of the Salamander.
The Raikage felt fortunate.
This time, he was taking action personally.
He would not give Li Yao the time to grow.
He would become nourishment for Kumo's future.
