Chapter 99: A Patriot in the World of Naruto
"Genjutsu: Release!"
"What's going on… Genjutsu: Release!"
"Genjutsu: Release…"
Haitsuchi kept shouting internally, trying to activate a pre-set chakra disruption to break free, but it was useless.
Her consciousness felt like it had been locked in a pitch-black room, entirely disconnected from her physical body and senses.
Outside, to her three students, it looked like Haitsuchi had just finished making hand signs to cast a Doton jutsu—then suddenly collapsed, sliding down the sloped rooftop.
"Haitsuchi-sensei… huh?"
As the three genin rushed to catch her, a Black Iron Chain instantly pierced through their hearts. Their last thoughts were of their teacher's graceful body before falling into darkness.
Li Yao showed no mercy. Even children—if they were enemies—deserved no leniency.
Tap tap!
He landed on the rooftop slope and used a chain to drag Haitsuchi to him.
"Didn't expect her to be such a stunner—what a body."
Say what you will, in the Naruto world, female ninja all had amazing bodies. Curves in all the right places—never disappointing.
This one… Haitsuchi, he recalled from the kids calling her.
Despite her name, her figure was anything but plain. Long, pale legs and sinfully good proportions—an absolute knockout.
Li Yao felt blood surge within him again.
He frowned.
"Is this… lust after a full belly?"
Ever since shaking off Konoha's pursuit, his body seemed increasingly influenced by his past life's adult mind.
He was beginning to feel urges—desires, especially toward beautiful, curvy women. The need to explore them in-depth.
"No… wait!"
He abruptly summoned one of the genin's corpses with a chain to verify something.
His expression shifted.
His skin might look twelve, but the feel was completely different—his internal cells were already that of a 24- or 25-year-old man.
In other words, his body was biologically mature—only his height hadn't caught up.
The torment he endured under the Third Hokage for six months had permanently altered his body. Wood Release chakra may have saved his lifespan, but it couldn't reverse his accelerated development.
He now produced adult-level hormones. His impulses were real—not merely a projection of his previous life's mentality.
"A shame."
Li Yao glanced downward, then shook his head.
He had already killed the Third's daughter—otherwise, he might've wanted to give his first time to her body, just for revenge.
Still, if he mastered Edo Tensei later, he could always recreate the daughter and… perform a tragic father-daughter play before the Third.
"Just wait, Hiruzen… your agony will come."
Li Yao's eyes brimmed with hatred. He was already forming a complete plan to crush the Third's mind, body, and spirit.
Just four more years.
Thump. He tossed aside the genin's corpse and turned his attention back to the unconscious Haitsuchi.
"An Earth-Style user… she should have Doton chakra in her system."
He reached into her collar and began sensing her chakra.
"Got it."
The Doton chakra she had been preparing for her earlier jutsu was still present. He could clearly feel its nature.
"Doton chakra acquired."
With Earth Release added to his chakra pool, Li Yao smiled. Now only Yin and Yang chakra natures remained.
Shame he hadn't touched the shadow jutsu user from Konoha when escaping—he might've gotten Yin Release then.
No matter. He'd get it eventually.
"Just as I thought—they were misled."
Li Yao smirked. Haitsuchi's chakra flow had been disrupted as a precaution, but it hadn't weakened the effect of the Genjutsu.
Clearly, she had been tricked by his loud "Genjutsu" shout, attempting to dispel the Sensory Deprivation Technique as if it were normal genjutsu.
"Genjutsu chakra really is fascinating—and terrifying."
To disable a near-jōnin-level ninja so easily—Li Yao couldn't help but marvel.
In the ninja world, aside from sealing techniques, genjutsu was truly fearsome.
Nagato's Six Paths of Pain, powered by Rinnegan chakra, were usually immune to genjutsu—yet even they fell to the toad song genjutsu from Mount Myōboku.
Then there was Shisui's Kotoamatsukami, capable of permanently altering someone's will.
And let's not forget Izanagi—a reality-warping genjutsu that rewrote unfavorable outcomes into beneficial ones, like a one-time resurrection cheat.
Izanami was just as absurd, like another flavor of mind control.
"Yeah… I shouldn't overlook genjutsu."
Li Yao's face grew serious.
Previously, thanks to his chakra-fused consciousness being able to repel invading genjutsu chakra, he hadn't considered genjutsu a big threat—especially compared to sealing jutsu.
But now, thinking about the Uchiha's broken techniques—like Kotoamatsukami or Izanagi, which outright rewrote minds or reality itself—he realized genjutsu could be even more dangerous.
He had no idea how they worked.
If one of them ever caught him off guard…
No. He needed to research genjutsu thoroughly.
Whoosh… With a flick, Li Yao carried Haitsuchi back to the top floor of the noble's mansion.
He didn't plan to kill her. That isolated island was remote, the nights were long, and if he had needs, why suffer?
More importantly, she would be his research subject—to test various genjutsu chakra applications and study how to enhance genjutsu potency.
Of course, safety was crucial.
With a thought, Li Yao embedded illusory Black Iron Chains into Haitsuchi's body to seal her chakra completely.
Now her chakra was locked, and her brain disconnected—double fail-safes. No risk of anything going wrong.
Time passed unnoticed.
Dawn broke with a pale white glow.
On the fourth floor, the chefs—who had worked all night under genjutsu—finally completed a month's worth of food for Li Yao. In fact, they overdid it—more than ten days' extra.
Li Yao entered the hall and raised his hand. A gush of black liquid formed from his storage-space chakra, enveloping all the packed meals and sweeping them back into his body.
He smiled, feeling the food sealed safely inside the flowing black space.
Then he looked at the chefs—his gaze turned cold.
Crash!
He burst through the wall, dragging Haitsuchi as he jumped onto the approaching Black Iron Eagle and soared into the sky.
"Fire Style: Flame Emperor Technique."
Raising his right hand, a 30-meter-wide fireball formed overhead. With a cold look, he swung his arm downward.
BOOM!
The fireball, seething with heat, slammed into the noble's mansion—flattening it in an explosion that turned it into a sea of flames.
Li Yao turned away and flew off without looking back.
Ever since leaving the Root base, he'd had nothing but malice for this world. Toward everyone.
To him, this world was full of NPCs—non-player characters. Killable, disposable.
He no longer lived by the moral standards of his past life.
Especially when dealing with "Fire Nation natives" who spoke in Japanese-like tongues. He felt instinctive hatred. No need for ethics.
He'd do whatever he pleased.
Li Yao was going to be the patriot of the Naruto world—and do whatever he damn well wanted.
