"Hey, is everything okay? Do you need anything?" Luciano asked, his forehead creased with worry.
"Yeah, I came out of my room to look for you. I had a bit of a headache but still wanted to see you," Daniela replied weakly.
His free hand folded into a fist, as a battle was being fought inside of him.
The truth prevailed, and he found himself spilling.
"Daniela, I'm actually in Aurivilla right now. Elio left Valentina at the mansion. She was alone and I had to go get her," he confessed.
She didn't say anything for a couple of seconds.
Luciano could already tell she wasn't going to be accepting any of this, but still, he just wanted to be honest with her.
From where she sat on the bed, Valentina studied him.
She really looked, and with every second that passed, the lies she kept telling herself slowly fell apart.
"The rain is quite heavy," Daniela finally said.
"Yeah it is. But once it reduces a little, we'll be on our way back."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
