When the door opened again, Valentina was just waking from a deep sleep filled with haunting nightmares.
She opened her eyes and saw someone staring down at her.
His eyes she recognized. She had kissed them a hundred times. She had looked into them and smiled. She had been fascinated by them. She had looked at herself through those eyes, to see her reflection every time her body came undone.
The eyes were recognizable, but the expression on them was undecipherable.
"What did you do to my baby?"
The question came out from Luciano like a gun, shot straight to her guts.
She tried to sit up, and doctor Maxwell who was also present in the room ran to help her up.
"Don't touch her," Luciano warned.
"I don't want her to rupture her stitches," he replied.
He nodded, and the doctor proceeded. He ensured he laid some pillows behind her so she could rest her back comfortably, before he stepped back.
"To my question. What did you do to my child?"
