After that encounter with the car thieves, I decided to keep patrolling the town, mainly at night to avoid discovery.
I produced a few more gadgets to help my capers and even keep up to date on what was going on around the state and even the country.
Right now the year is 2006 and it has been three years since the formation of a team of heroes known as the Justice League.
Even before the whole alien invasion, each member had to deal with a swarm of super villains.
Will I ever reach that point? who knows... I always loved traveling the world, but until then I'm going to keep up my recon of the town maybe even spread out a little.
-Next Day-
Sitting in the common room with several other children. The adults in charge put on the morning news segment on the TV. The idea being that everyone deserves to be aware of what was going on in the world. Also everyone enjoys watching news about their favorite heroes.
"Good morning Arizona I am your host Crispin Roberto and this is channel 12News. Today in Gotham the arrest of the former District Attorney Harvey Dent sent shock waves through the local Gotham community. A city known for its dark atmosphere and harsh living has lost a true guardian."
"In Metropolis, Superman was seen helping firemen save several citizens from a house fire."
"Renovations made to the Hall of Justice have been completed and group tours are scheduled to being next month. After the creation of the Justice league three years ago, people will now have the chance to learn about the history of heroes from across the country and the world."
"In political news the Democrats won control of both houses of the US Congress after the mid-term elections."
"In international news preparations for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, are underway."
" Spanish delegates welcome Princess Diana and the Amazon delegation to Spain in talks for cultural exchange."
"Now for our segment about unbelievable events around the world. Today we are going to talk about the sightings of dinosaur tracks and cavemen drawings found outside the American Museum of Natural History. We will be talking to several experts about whether these are real? Or the setup of an elaborate joke."
"And in Fresno, California a bizarre story from a man who claims to have developed a shrink ray. When asked if he tested his shrink ray one of his kids answered yes and that they have seen it work while playing in their home attic."
"Now for the weather-"
As the news began to talk about the weather. Carmen sat there thinking about the supposed shrink ray.
"Although numerous superpowered individuals exist in the world and something like a shrink ray might pale in comparison. I can already think of seven different nefarious uses for a shrink ray, even one built in someone's attic." Carmen thought to herself.
"It seems like a trip to California is necessary"
-Meanwhile Central City, Missouri-
While it is widely known that Central City is the home of the Flash, what many overlook is the number of villains that exist.
In a bar where criminals are known to meet, two such villains were currently discussing their own out of town trip.
"I'm telling you, Mick that shrink ray is our ticket in getting rich quick. Why worry about cracking a bank vault in time when we can just shrink it to the size of a tic-tac and carry it out. Or how about turning a fire cracker into the size of a bus."
"I like it... what about the Flash?"
"Don't worry... by the time he learns about what we did and races over to California, we will be long gone"
"And the local pigs?"
"With your flame and my ice there is little they can do to stop us from taking what we want."
Thus a ridiculous story in the morning news will lead to Carmen's first fight with Super Villains.
