Chapter 2 - The Chat Group Time Travel System Activated!

"Why did you end up skipping class, too?"

In a restaurant, Xiling looked at the two people sitting across from him, speechless.

"I have good grades, so I skipped out of class occasionally... the teacher won't say anything."

Mei stabbed a piece of cake with a fork and tasted it.

"Haha, it's okay for you, but what about the other person?" Xiling looked at Kevin with a teasing look.

"Oh my god, can you please stop bringing up irrelevant issues?" Kevin blinked wildly and made eye contact with Xiling.

"I'm bringing it up, I'm bringing it up. I want to see rivers of blood."

"I'm really going to teach you a lesson, you damn bastard!"

"Hey, teach me a lesson now if you dare! Trash! Trash Kevin!, who only dares to threaten me with his eyes, is truly trash!"

Just as the two of them were embracing each other tenderly. As their eyes met, expressing their innermost feelings, Mei had already put down her fork and picked up a tissue, wiping her mouth as she spoke.

"As for Kevin, I'll help him with his studies later. He's not stupid. With a little effort, he'll definitely catch up."

Hahaha

So the clown was actually me, with my red nose from my clown costume.

Just as Xiling was about to retrieve his special weapon, someone sent a message in the chat group.

[Great Magician Tarnished]: Brothers, there's something wrong here. Someone's suddenly blocking my door.

Seeing the message from Tarnished, Xiling replied while picking up some food.

[I Don't Want to Be a Hero Anymore]: What's going on? Explain clearly. Why have you been suddenly blocked?

At this moment, a person stood before a heavy door. This person was none other than the Great Magician Tarnished from the chat group.

However, The Tarnished's current surroundings were rather bleak: a dilapidated worship hall and a long-dead corpse. There seemed to be inscriptions carved underneath, but he didn't dare to read them. The Tarnished felt like he'd been kidnapped. He clearly remembers being in a ruin, excavating, rejoicing over his newly discovered magic, only to find himself in this abomination in the blink of an eye.

He had absolutely no strength to push open the heavy door before him. He'd just tried his best, but it wouldn't budge.

The Tarnished felt the need to call out to his brothers.

Although his brothers were a bit useless and stupid, at least they had strength! As a great magician, he wouldn't despise them.

Damn; the gate, the church, the corpse—they had it all. Our worthless magician was the future dog of Lord Ranni... I'm talking about the great King of Elden.

"That doesn't make sense!" Xiling's mind was racing. He wasn't exaggerating. His worthless Tarnished only need two slashes away at close range to be taken down. The King of Elden should at least be able to wield a broadsword or something, but this guy couldn't even muster the energy to do so, knowing nothing but magic.

"No!" Xiling immediately became restless at the thought. If this guy really relied on magic to become the King of Elden, he wouldn't agree.

The thought of him becoming the King of Elden and living a good life—what that life might be, you don't care—made Xiling sick.

Don't even think about abandoning your brothers and driving a Land Rover.

"Kevin, let's go!" Xiling shouted at Kevin.

Kevin, who was about to speak to Mei, was yanked to his feet. Xiling, dragging Kevin, gestured toward Mei.

"Sorry, Mei, something went wrong. I'll just borrow this guy for a bit."

"I am sorry, Mei!"

"Don't do anything illegal. Have a safe trip."

Dragging Kevin to the front desk to check out. They walked into an alley. After exchanging a glance, they nodded and then...

The chat group time travel system is activated!

A white light flickered in the alley, and the two people who had been there vanished.

Two heroic figures appeared in the worship hall, one wielding a holy sword with a majestic air, the other wielding a baseball bat with a domineering aura.

Xiling gently tossed his hair and opened his eyes.

"Are you my Master? Don't worry. Since you've summoned a hero like me, victory in the Rune War is guaranteed to be ours."

"So, don't keep saying things I don't understand. Thank you." The Tarnished had grown accustomed to the hero's eccentricities.

Habits are truly terrifying. "Okay, stop talking nonsense and let me see what's going on here."

"You've been talking nonsense all along, haven't you?" Kevin grumbled, glancing around.

"Oh my god! There's a corpse!"

Kevin leaped behind Xiling, pointing at a corpse and shouting in horror.

"You're just a flower in a greenhouse after all. A dead cricket scares you so much! Let me see! Holy crap! There's a corpse!"

Xiling had intended to demonstrate his bravery, but he seemed to have forgotten one thing: he had never seen a body before. Or rather, he had never seen one with such a tragic death.

"Hehe," Kevin, hiding behind Xiling, said nothing, only laughed twice, but the laughter was full of sarcasm.

Xiling immediately became dissatisfied.

"What are you laughing at? Ah, I'm asking you what you're laughing at. Aren't you scared, too?"

Puff. Another laugh reached Xiling's ears. Looking in the direction of the sound, Xiling saw a face flushed crimson, as if desperately trying to suppress something.

"What are you laughing at?"

The Tarnished coughed forcefully.

"Nothing, I just remembered something happy. I found a new magic."

"Found a bullshit! You've been laughing at me for a while, and you haven't stopped."

Kevin and The Tarnished sighed helplessly.

"Okay, I admit I was laughing at you."

At this moment, they no longer hid their laughter.

Hahahahaha

"Is this a hero? A flower in a greenhouse, hahahaha!"

Kevin held his stomach and beat his chest furiously.

At this moment, Xiling's face flushed completely. Just when he wanted to show these two idiots the true power of a hero, the light portal opened again.

Lemuen, in a wheelchair, holding a sniper rifle, emerged from the light portal with a gentle smile on her face. Lemuen saw one person's face flushed red, and two people's faces reddened with laughter; she immediately knew what was going on.

Lemuen smiled and shook her head.

"Didn't you say you encountered a problem? Have you resolved it?"

The Tarnished then remembered that he had asked for help, not to see the Hero's jokes.

"Yes, you see, I don't know why when I woke up and suddenly found myself in this abominable place, and there's a corpse lying on the ground."

Lemuen saw the female corpse lying on the ground and immediately rolled her wheelchair over to examine it.

"From the appearance of the body, it seems she was murdered."

Lemuen observed the wounds on the body and expressed her suspicions, then looked at the words left in front of the corpse.

"Even if the guidance has long been broken, please become the King of Elden."
