Chapter 25 - The True Hero Mode Start!

25. The True Hero Mode Start!

The Starry Cloak blocked the explosion and was then retracted by Xiling.

Xiling turned around and asked, "Everyone, are you alright?"

Several people nod their heads.

"That's good."

Xiling walked to the entrance of the massive cave and peered into the distance. Outside the Leyndell Royal Capital, it looked as if terrifying monsters were engaged in a fierce battle, the ground constantly shaking from the clash between the two beasts.

Lemuen could see the two figures engaged in a fierce battle, each clash leaving a long burrow in the earth.

A fireball nearly a hundred meters high crashed to the ground, creating a visual impact like a nuclear bomb explosion. However, Radagon, radiating golden light, appeared unharmed. He hurled his golden spear with all his might, piercing everything in its path. Kevin, dodging the blow, dropped from the air and delivered a powerful kick to Radagon's crossed arms. The blow sent both men piercing through the surface, descending into the underground world, and vanishing from Lemuen's sight.

"If there's danger, return to your own world immediately. Don't hesitate!" Xiling said this, and just as he was about to take a step forward, he seemed to recall something and turned to look at Luo Tianyi.

Under Xiling's piercing gaze, Luo Tianyi's face gradually began to flush.

In this strange atmosphere, Lemuen suddenly speaks up, "What's wrong, Xiling?"

Xiling was startled by Lemuen's voice, as if awakened from a dream, but his gaze remained fixed on Luo Tianyi.

"Tianyi, can I trouble you with something?"

Luo Tianyi nodded. "What is it? Xiling, tell me."

Xiling patted himself. "I'll try not to resist. Use hypnosis on me."

"Huh!" Luo Tianyi blinked blankly, somewhat unable to react to Xiling's words.

Luo Tianyi didn't react, but the others did. The Tarnished rubbed his chin. "You want Tianyi to help you unlock True Hero Mode?"

"Will it work?" Lemuen frowned, pondering the question.

Houraiji Kyuushou, hands on her hips, smiled and said, "It doesn't matter if it works or not. Anyway, let's just give it a try, right?"

"So that's how it is! Leave it to me," Luo Tianyi clenched her fists as if to cheer herself up, then stepped in front of Xiling.

Under the gaze of the crowd, Luo Tianyi took a deep breath, then looked at Xiling and warned, "Then I'll begin."

Xiling gave her a thumbs-up. "Go ahead."

Luo Tianyi opened her mouth to speak, but then suddenly, confusion struck her. She rubbed her head, a little embarrassed, "What should I say?"

Xiling thought for a moment, then said, "Just say push your limits, Hero."

"Okay, then push your limits, Hero." As Luo Tianyi finished her words, she felt as if some shackle had been lifted. Luo Tianyi suddenly clutched her chest and began breathing rapidly. She could feel her heart beating so fast it even started to ache. Houraiji Kyuushou saw her strange reaction, and it made her worried.

Houraiji Kyuushou walked up behind Luo Tianyi and anxiously asked, "Tianyi, what's wrong?"

Luo Tianyi panted anxiously, "I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and uncomfortable."

On the other side, Xiling clutched his forehead. It was as if a shackle within his body had been unlocked, something sealed away had been released. A flood of memories flooded into Xiling's mind: everything about the Hero, and things Xiling had never known.

Hearing Luo Tianyi's rapid breathing, Xiling instinctively placed a hand on her shoulder. The next second, Luo Tianyi, feeling a bit uncomfortable, recovered.

{If a hero can desire it, he can achieve it, as long as he can afford the price}

After recovering, Luo Tianyi looked at Xiling, the owner of the hand. The other three people present all stared at Xiling in astonishment.

Xiling had transformed dramatically. A white glow, like fireflies, surrounded him, and his once black hair had turned white.

Xiling suppressed his bewildered expression. Facing the group's stunned gazes, he smiled. "The essence of the liberated hero is who I am now. I'll explain it to you when I have time. I'll be back soon."

In the underground world, Kevin and Radagon continued to clash. In terms of strength, speed, and defense, Kevin far surpassed Radagon, but Radagon relied on the Golden Rule and his own combat skills to continuously hold Kevin back. A fist packed with terrifying force struck Radagon's heart, sending him flying. He knocked over countless shelters and fell to the ground without stopping. He rolled to the left, avoiding Kevin's stomping foot. A lightning spear materialized in his hand and hurled itself towards Kevin.

Just as the lightning spear was about to strike Kevin, a dark figure identical to Kevin blocked it, Radagon then slammed his hand onto the ground, causing it to crack. He soared into the air, dodging the other dark figure's sneak attack, but was kicked in the stomach by Kevin's real body. He was sent flying again, landing heavily on the ground, but he quickly recovered.

Although Kevin's attack power was immense, his attack wasn't Destined Death. He had no means of harming Radagon. Even if he suppressed him, without any means of restraint, Kevin couldn't completely defeat Radagon.

But that wasn't the worst of it. Kevin felt the strength within him rapidly declining. The boundary between day and night was only three minutes long, yet Kevin hadn't defeated Radagon in those three minutes. If he had possessed the Destined Death or some other weapon with the same effect, the battle might have been over long ago.

Radagon, standing up, seemed to sense Kevin's declining power. His previously defensive stance was now subtly shifting to an offensive stance.

The black and white halo above Kevin's head began to fade, and his clothes, seemingly enveloped in stars, returned to their original state.

"This is a bit bad," Kevin wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

As if confirming Kevin's condition, Radagon's pace quickened, his strength gathering. At this moment, a light portal appeared around Kevin.

The moment he saw the light portal, Kevin breathed a sigh of relief and jokingly scolded, "You're so slow!"

But when Kevin saw the person exit the light portal, confusion immediately filled his eyes. Wasn't it the Hero, but why is his hair white, and he'd dyed his hair in just a few minutes? Is that hair real? That's not real, right?

"Not too late, wasn't it?" Xiling smiled at Kevin as he emerged from the light door.

"No, you're just in time. So, what's going on?" Kevin shook his head, dismissing the strange thoughts, then asked with some confusion.

"I'll tell you and everyone else later. Now..." Xiling fixed his gaze on Radagon.

"Let me finish the job."

With that, Xiling raised his hand, and his Starry Cloak automatically blocked Radagon's lightning spear.

Without drawing his holy sword, Xiling, without waiting for the lightning spear to disappear, instantly vanished from his position. Before Radagon could react, Xiling's fist landed fiercely on his chin. The immense force transformed Radagon into a rocket, piercing through the rock and earth above him and landing on the ground. As soon as he reached the surface, a hand pinned his head.

"Wake up for a moment," Xiling said expressionlessly, pressing Radagon down hard.

Instantly, a deep crater appeared on the ground.

Continuing to hold Radagon down, Xiling calmly inquired, "Are you awake?"

Xiling's question lasted a long time before a deep, hoarse male voice finally answered.

"...Awake."
