Chapter 35 - Veins of Betrayal

The Azure Blossom Sect, bathed in the soft glow of dawn, seemed serene—a false calm over a simmering storm. Within the main hall, whispers moved like serpents. Elders exchanged glances, some cautious, some covetous, all aware of Li Xian and Su Yao's unparalleled power. Even after the Tribulation and the Eastern Ridge battle, unease lingered—ambition and fear interwoven like twin shadows.

Li Xian sat at the center of the hall, crimson energy subtly coiling along his arms. Su Yao glided beside him, silver qi tracing the edges of her robes like molten fire. Their presence alone stilled murmurs; yet beneath their dominance, currents of treachery pulsed.

A junior elder approached, face pale, hands trembling. "Master Li… there are… irregularities among the supply lines. Some… some have been redirected. We suspect internal sabotage. Messages intercepted point to a coordinated effort… spies within the sect."

Li Xian's crimson eyes narrowed, energy flaring with subtle menace. "Internal betrayal," he said, voice low, dangerous. "Those who think they can undermine the sect or test me… will discover what it means to stand against the apex."

Su Yao's silver energy entwined with his crimson qi, a tangible bond radiating power that no one dared challenge. "Let them act," she whispered, lips brushing his ear. "Every shadow reveals itself to us. Every whisper dies under our gaze."

Li Xian rose, crimson qi spiraling like molten tendrils, coiling outward, probing the hall, seeking irregularities in aura, in intent, in loyalty. A subtle tremor in the air—the faintest hesitation, the almost imperceptible pulse of deceit—marked the first target.

"Elder Zhou," he called, eyes like molten steel. The man stiffened, and a bead of sweat slid down his temple. "Your loyalty has… faltered."

"I-I…" Zhou stammered, sweat glistening, qi trembling under the probing aura. "I only—"

Li Xian's crimson tendrils licked outward, binding him without pain, yet inescapable. "You have seen too much. Spoken to too many. Carried whispers to ears that should never hear. What is your choice?"

Su Yao pressed her hand lightly against his, silver qi spiraling around Zhou, restraining, testing, amplifying the warning. "Serve… or fall," she said softly, voice like steel hidden in velvet.

Tears glistened as Zhou dropped to his knees. "I… I will serve, Master Li. I swear it."

Li Xian's eyes softened only slightly, crimson energy retreating into a simmering coil. "Good," he said. "Remember your place. Every step outside it… will burn."

Whispers spread through the hall, fear rippling among elders and disciples alike. Li Xian's dominance was absolute, Su Yao's supremacy undeniable. The harem, watching from the shadows, felt the raw pulse of their master's command, reinforced by Su Yao's unshakable presence. Every glance, every moan of exertion during dual cultivation in secret, every shared pulse of qi—an unspoken lesson in hierarchy and devotion.

But beyond the sect walls, shadows stirred. Mo Tian's agents, masked and unseen, watched, taking notes, analyzing patterns, and plotting the next move. The spy network had been disrupted, some loyalists turned into instruments of truth, yet one thread remained untouched—a seed of chaos yet to bloom.

Li Xian sensed it. A pulse too faint for ordinary disciples, a whisper too quiet for ordinary ears. He turned to Su Yao, eyes locking with hers, crimson and silver mingling in perfect resonance. "One remains," he murmured. "We will root them out… and make them regret testing the apex."

Su Yao's lips curved, silver qi coiling tighter. "Let them come. Every step they take will ignite under our bond."

The hall fell silent under their gaze, yet far above the walls, hidden atop the northern cliffs, an unseen figure watched, aura cloaked, calculating. Every move the apex pair made, every subtle display of power and intimacy, was noted, measured, and cataloged. Mo Tian's hand had not yet touched this, the final piece of his plan: an infiltration that could undermine even the strongest bond.

Li Xian's fist brushed against Su Yao's hand, crimson and silver energy intertwining, intimate and raw. "Together," he whispered. "Always."

She pressed close, breath mingling, pulse synchronizing. "Always," she replied, moans of exertion and pleasure almost lost in the quiet tension, their qi a lethal symphony no spy could escape.

In the shadows, the remaining traitor stirred, uncertain, trembling. He had seen their power, felt the binding energy of their cores, and understood what it meant to oppose them. Yet ambition, greed, and fear of Mo Tian's retaliation drove him forward. He would test the apex pair… and pay the ultimate price.
