Sophia jolted awake as the car violently shook.
"Jaxon, what's going on?!"
"Miss Morgan, we're surrounded!"
They were on a nearby expressway. Jaxon gripped the steering wheel, trying desperately to keep control.
Sophia's brows knit tightly. She glanced outside just in time to see another vehicle slam toward them—hard.
The entire car trembled. Sophia steadied herself.
"Jaxon, can you break through?!"
She could now clearly see the situation outside—three cars in total were hunting them down.
It seemed Olivia's little visit yesterday, with all that fake concern, was nothing but a distraction for today's ambush.
"Miss Morgan, I don't have full confidence, but I will protect you with my life!"
Jaxon checked the side mirror and suddenly swerved, forcing the car through the blockade—for a moment, it almost worked.
