Chapter 27 - 27. Sunrise!

Hantengu ran very quickly, which was related to his personality.

Hantengu was born a liar, and to make things favorable for himself, he would always twist facts and explanations. He was a person with abnormal thoughts, always believing that he was the victim, feeling that no one in the world was more pitiful than him, and treating everyone around him as bad people, trying to elicit sympathy.

But in fact, he was cruel by nature, only bullying the weak. Once he was criticized outside, he would go home and kill his wife and children. His life was a continuous repetition of such acts, which were truly too numerous to count.

To protect himself, Hantengu, after becoming a demon, split into different personalities and clones. These personalities all had their own thoughts, while Hantengu himself, as the main body, was timid and cowardly.

"Thunder Breathing—First Form: Thunderclap and Flash!"

The lightning charged forward, rapidly closing the distance with Hantengu. Gunshots rang out, and pits exploded around Hantengu, as Genya launched a long-range attack to hinder Hantengu's steps.

Close!

Tanjiro flew out, his long sword and arm kept in the same direction to reduce air resistance.

"Hinokami Kagura—Waltz!"

Brilliant flames wrapped around Tanjiro's sword, striking fiercely at Hantengu's neck.

Clang!

With a crisp sound, Tanjiro's long sword shattered directly, and the flying fragments even scratched Tanjiro's cheek.

His neck was too hard!

Mitsuri flew out from behind, her pink ribbon-like flexible Nichirin Sword wrapping Hantengu layer by layer. She pulled tightly, and Hantengu made cracking sounds from being squeezed, but he did not die.

Was this demon made of steel?

Tanjiro's sword was now broken, and Mitsuri's sword could not cut off his neck.

Suddenly, Hantengu's body expanded, pushing away Mitsuri's Nichirin Sword. He instantly became taller than both of them, his demon-like face ferocious and vicious, and his sharp claws tightly gripped Tanjiro's neck, trying to strangle him.

But Mitsuri swung her long sword, and with a flash of pink light, the giant Hantengu's hands were cleanly severed, and blood splattered on Tanjiro's shoulder.

I couldn't do anything to you when you were small, but now that you've grown bigger, you're easier to deal with.

Mitsuri's mind raced, and she swung her sword again. In just a flash, Hantengu's head was separated from his body.

"Yay, we won, Tanjiro! Waaah!"

Mitsuri happily hugged Tanjiro.

Tanjiro's nose twitched.

No, it wasn't over yet.

"Mitsuri-san, be careful!"

Hantengu behind Mitsuri not only didn't fall, but also stretched out his claws towards Mitsuri's neck.

Bang!

With a loud gunshot, Hantengu was sent flying, a large hole blown open in his chest. Genya walked up from behind, panting, holding a gun in his hands and a Nichirin Sword in his left hand.

Akaza's flesh and blood power was about to fade, and Genya was about to return to normal physical strength.

"Here, someone strange asked me to give this to you."

Genya extended the Nichirin Sword in his left hand, presenting it before Tanjiro's eyes.

"Tetsuya Haganezuka, thank you, Genya!"

Tanjiro took the sword, drew it from its sheath, and a cold light appeared, the splendor from three hundred years ago re-emerging in this era. Perhaps this also meant that the three-hundred-year-long entanglement was about to come to an end in this generation.

"A good sword!"

Tanjiro held the sword. The black Nichirin Sword looked very special in the pale sky.

"Although I cannot see you, I can sense where you are."

Tanjiro walked step by step towards the small Hantengu trying to crawl away.

"You are always running away, demon. Now, it is time for you to pay for your actions."

With a vertical thrust, Hantengu was pinned to the ground. Hantengu's limbs thrashed, trying to break free, but he had no strength left.

On the horizon, the sun gradually revealed half its circle. The black and white line approaching from afar swept over Tanjiro and his group.

Hantengu shrieked as he was bathed in the sunlight. His body gradually charred.

Seiichi also arrived here, carrying Muichiro in his hand.

Tanjiro was about to happily tell Seiichi that they had defeated Upper Moon Four, but when he saw the figure standing behind Seiichi, he froze.

It was Nezuko, bathed in the sunlight. Not the small Nezuko, nor the large Nezuko, but Nezuko in her maiden form, her pink pupils also filled with tears.

"Ne-Nezuko?"

Nezuko nodded vigorously.

Tanjiro's tears streamed down, and the two siblings cried as they embraced.

Mitsuri was also teary-eyed, hugging the siblings, and Muichiro also showed a bright smile. Watching such a scene, Seiichi also felt joyful.

Only Muzan, who saw Nezuko from Hantengu's perspective, had a distorted face. His body trembled, not from anger, but from excitement.

"Hundreds of years! Finally! Finally, a demon unafraid of sunlight has been born! As long as I eat her, I can..."

In the Infinity Castle, Muzan's maniacal laughter echoed.

Hantengu eventually died. This despicable villain spent his life cowering, but he never hesitated when killing and eating people. Seiichi naturally could not have even a slight emotional fluctuation for him, as he was simply not worth it.

Among the six Upper Moons, only Gyutaro and Akaza had relatively tragic lives before becoming demons, but that was when they were still humans. After becoming demons, they were no longer themselves.

Seiichi also took the opportunity to pat Nezuko's head, as it would be more difficult to do so later if he didn't do it now.

It wasn't that Seiichi intentionally brought her to provoke Muzan. Rather, when Seiichi returned to the original spot and saw Nezuko standing in the sunlight, he was completely stunned.

Since that was the case, it was fate's arrangement, so he brought her along.

In the distance, people from the Swordsmith Village were also arriving, carrying stretchers and medical kits.

Tanjiro, while crying, suddenly realized that he was still severely injured, and then a huge sense of fatigue enveloped him, causing him to collapse directly to the ground.

This frightened Nezuko and Mitsuri. They cried out "Onii-chan!" and "Tanjiro-kun!"

"Don't worry, he's just too tired."

Seiichi bent down and felt Tanjiro's pulse. He looked at everyone present, genuinely happy for all of them.

"Everyone worked hard today. Fortunately, we won!"

The brilliance of humanity is that even when facing death, they will unhesitatingly move forward.

In such a cruel, man-eating world, this group of people illuminated this land for hundreds of years, generation after generation, advancing wave upon wave, explaining why humans are human.

The chief of the Swordsmith Village, Tecchin Tecchikawahara, directed the villagers to carry everyone onto stretchers, including Mitsuri, who was also seriously injured.

Tecchin Tecchikawahara bowed to Seiichi to express his gratitude, and Seiichi quickly helped him up.

"If it weren't for all of you, the people of the Swordsmith Village would have been wiped out."

"This is what we should do. If the Swordsmith Village hadn't always forged Nichirin Swords for us, we wouldn't have been able to harm the demons. It is our fault that you all encountered risks."

As a corporate slave in his previous life, Seiichi knew very well how to speak. Didn't he see that the old village chief was already teary-eyed from his words?

With a laugh, Seiichi waved his hand and followed the Kakushi, who were carrying a large group of people, as they left.
