Chapter 28 - the mysterious bead

Everyone was shocked when they heard Kong Hao Ran's words, including Ling Tian.

Li Shang coughed up some blood and said with difficulty: "No need to thank me. I did this so you wouldn't lose your strength, because we now need any possible power, especially someone with your strength, Brother Kong."

When Kong Hao Ran heard his words, he was shocked. He bowed slightly while clasping his fist and said gratefully: "This increases my gratitude and respect for you, Brother Li. You are truly wise."

Li Shang answered him with difficulty while panting: "No need for all this appreciation, Brother Kong. I only did what was right. Now excuse me, as I need to recover as quickly as possible."

After saying this, he began limping back to his clan members.

Ling Tian was shocked by the result, because despite Li Shang's victory, he was in a much worse condition than Kong Hao Ran.

But Li Yi muttered in a somewhat helpless voice: "He didn't just pass him the Breeze Wind Movement Technique, but also passed him the Tiger's Roar Sword Technique."

These mutterings brought Ling Tian out of his shock, and he turned to Li Yi, only to see him clenching his fists with an ugly expression on his face.

Ling Tian decided to leave Li Yi alone because he didn't seem in the mood to talk now.

Instead, a question crossed his mind that left him confused: "From Li Shang's condition, it seems he needs several weeks to recover. So how will he duel Senior Sister Xiao Yao?"

But he didn't think long, because Xiao Yao, who had been recovering, suddenly opened her eyes and walked slowly and calmly until she approached Li Shang.

The Li Clan members felt afraid that Xiao Yao would seize the opportunity and harm Li Shang, so they quickly stood in front of him in readiness.

But Xiao Yao didn't care about them and kept looking at Li Shang with a bit of pity.

Li Shang looked with a question mark on his face, then finally said in confusion: "What do you want?"

Finally, Xiao Yao spoke and said lightly: "You're injured and won't heal except after two weeks, so I'll take the sword."

When the Li Clan members heard her words, their anger ignited, and one of them said angrily: "Are you trying to seize the opportunity to steal the sword because you realized that Senior Brother Li is stronger than you?"

When Xiao Yao heard these words, she smiled mockingly and said: "Why would I need to steal a sword from someone who won with serious injuries?"

The Li Clan member wasn't convinced and said angrily: "That happened because Senior Brother restrained himself at the last moment!"

Xiao Yao frowned and said in a cold voice: "And do you think I would have been injured if I hadn't restrained myself? Who are you fooling? Before the final strike, Li Shang was already severely injured."

When Fu Xing Han heard her words, he opened his eyes and sighed lightly: "It seems my feeling of the heat suddenly disappearing wasn't a coincidence."

As for Li Shang, he said in a calm voice: "You're right in your words, but I can't hand you the sword like this. So just give me one week. Then I'll duel you even if my injuries haven't healed."

When Xiao Yao heard his words, she said coldly: "It seems you don't understand. We're not playing here. We're in a race against time to prepare for what we'll face. Do you think we have time to wait for you for a week?"

After Xiao Yao finished speaking, Kong Hao Ran said to Li Shang: "I'm sorry, Brother Li, but she's right."

When Li Shang heard their words, he realized this was correct, but he still couldn't let the matter go.

When Xiao Yao noticed his expression, she said calmly: "How about this? Give me the sword in this secret realm, and if we get out, I promise I'll duel you for ownership of the sword."

When Li Shang heard this, he realized this was his only choice and said with some sadness: "I hope you won't break your promise."

Xiao Yao nodded and said proudly: "Don't worry. We Ji Lian Pavilion members always fulfill our promises."

After saying this, she turned to the crowd and said: "Now let's talk about the treasures. Each person will choose only one treasure. As for priority, it will be according to cultivation level. The higher your cultivation, the faster you get the treasure. Any objections?"

When the crowd heard her proposal, no one objected because it was the most logical distribution.

"It seems I won't get anything good this time," Ling Tian thought with a bitter smile on his face, because his cultivation level was the lowest.

Xiao Yao headed to the main hall, and everyone followed her, including the injured Li Shang.

When they arrived in front of the main hall, Master Ku appeared and handed the control key of the formation he had placed to Xiao Yao, saying: "I've placed the formation with all my effort. If anyone tries to sneak in, you'll know immediately."

Xiao Yao nodded and said: "Alright, let's enter."

Xiao Yao entered along with Master Ku, followed by Li Shang, Fu Xing Han, and Kong Hao Ran inside.

But when another person tried to enter, the formation immediately closed.

Everyone realized this was Xiao Yao's doing, and although there was some objection, they waited patiently.

A quarter of an hour passed, and both Fu Xing Han and Li Shang came out and headed to a nearby room to complete their recovery with slight smiles.

After Fu Xing Han and Li Shang, Master Ku came out and said: "The next person can enter."

When the crowd heard Master Ku's words, the elite began releasing their auras to prove they were the strongest, but their auras faded when Li Yi released his aura.

After proving he was the strongest, Li Yi entered the main hall calmly.

Li Yi's entry lasted only five minutes, but he had already come out.

Ling Tian thought as he saw Li Yi's speed of choice: "Impossible that Senior Brother Li chose a random treasure, but how does he know the treasure he chose is the best thing he can get? If I were in his place, I would take my time choosing."

After Li Yi, Wu Zang entered, and unlike Li Yi, he took much longer to choose his treasure.

And so, one after another, everyone entered the hall and chose their treasures, until only Ling Tian remained.

Ling Tian thought as he entered the main hall with hope: "I just hope to find something good that might have remained for me."

When Ling Tian entered the main hall, which remained as it was, except that there were no treasures left except only Tier One swords.

Ling Tian thought disappointedly when he saw this: "All the techniques and high-quality weapons have disappeared, and only two Tier One swords remain."

Just as Ling Tian was drowning in his disappointment, he felt as if there were gazes watching him.

Ling Tian was shocked when he realized this and began searching around. Except for Xiao Yao and Kong Hao Ran, who remained to prevent anyone from stealing treasures, he saw no one.

Ling Tian thought he was imagining it, but the same feeling returned after a moment.

This time, Ling Tian was quick, and before this sensation disappeared, he found its source.

The feeling was coming from a black bead with strange white engravings, and it had no spiritual energy at all.

Except for the watching feeling that Ling Tian felt every few moments, there was nothing strange about it.

Ling Tian held it while thinking: "This bead is definitely not ordinary."

After thinking this, he turned to Xiao Yao and said: "I've chosen this bead."
