The sun rising behind the mountains illuminating a vast woodland, steadily melting the thick snow settled on the pine trees. The wind whipping through the forest carrying the comforting scent of a new lit fire. An endearing log cabin nestled on the edge of the woods looking over a small fishing town. Boats gently rocking within a great Black Sea.
Elle
"Oh he was handsome, tall, had extremely big muscles and the biggest smile" Mum told me dreamily. "I've never had a one night stand before El, but this man just had a hold over me." I rolled my eyes. Honestly I'd heard this story many times, it wasn't that I didn't love the thought of me being conceived in such a loving way but my god I didn't need to hear the details nor did I need to hear it in a morning. It was like that one night was something mum could never forget, but hey! She got me from it, I must be her reminder. A wild and outspoken daughter. Mum carried on her rambling as I started to get my bag ready. I was nearly 18 and knew my life was going to change forever. My werewolf was ready to come through and I was finally going to meet her. Mum says she's a voice inside my head and when you transform, she takes over and you join as one, I was excited and extremely nervous for the event as she'd also warned me about the heat and all the mess that came with it. I'm sure she was leaving out details as we went over certain subjects but I know she'll tell me when the time right. Never the less mum had been working on a plan for years. She'd trained me everyday, fighting, how to use a gun, knife, crossbow, how to obtain certain poisons and how to make them, how to live off the land, joinery, metal work even how to make my own bullets. Anything and everything she taught me, from all the history she could muster up to every part of my country. She'd also made a safe room under our home for emergency's.
We lived on the outskirts of a small fishing town in a cozy log cabin. We'd constantly moved around, never staying in one place longer than a week but all of a sudden, aged ten, she brought me here. Camomile springs. I'd never asked why we stopped moving or asked about her past, only whom my father was and even then she was vague with his actual identity. At the time I was just happy to be settled, I'd made friends pretty quickly in a new school and we started decorating our home. We've had a pretty closed off cozy life ever since.
Mum had finished her morning ramble whilst preparing my coffee. I finished getting ready whilst it cooled. I looked into the mirror at my appearance, I wasn't slim but wasn't fat either, I was curvy and proud, I straightened my jacket out and smiled. Big brown eyes, brown shoulder length hair, few freckles, round face. I wasn't anything special but I was comfortable and confident and really had no interest in men anyways. "I'll have tea on by six El, don't forget your training" mum whispered from behind her book. She was a soft spoken women but very stern with long blond hair and big blue eyes, similar build to me with the biggest heart. We looked nothing like each other so I presumed I had my dads looks. As I waved bye to mum, I put my backpack on and headed to high school. I was coming close to leaving and trying to step into a career but I had to figure out the next step first. In a few days it was my birthday and I was about to meet my wolf stepping into a whole new world.
Roman, King Alpha
Sitting in my gold decorated throne room, feet up, fire crackling lighting the room slightly, my dogs settled beside me and whiskey in my hand, I realised what me and my family had achieved in the last few years. The O'niels. We were a very rich family in the first place due to oil leaks on our land but when I was made king our prioritys shifted. We'd successfully brought four wolf packs together under one reign. We managed to stop all fighting, end poverty and bring peace within the country. We set some new laws and the packs seemed to flourish. I'd been made King by the council, four wise old men that had lived and seen enough to know the right from wrong, the werewolf community trusted their council. The fearless king before me died along with his Luna. Headstrong leaders, fierce but foolish always fighting over land and greed. They would hastily run into battle and that was their undoing in the end. If a king has no heirs then the council will vote for the next best candidate. I was the strongest and eldest son of the richest family and on paper I was perfect but in battle I was even better. I was still a very young king but my ability was strength. I can tear a tree from its roots with one hand and my wolf Rylan is the fiercest wolf you've ever witnessed. He's a big puppy really but a fierce protector. With my strength and his mean streak we quickly became Alphas in my families pack. My father easily passing the responsibility to me ready for his retirement. My family are fierce, mum and dad fought beside the King Alpha before me in many battles, received many awards, they were cherished within the community and are still very much in love. Always showing displays of affection. My younger twin brothers are a force to be reckoned with, always getting into trouble, wolfs always fighting but my sister, she is the real threat. Small, thin with longer ginger hair and a beautiful smile. Her ability? Speed. She'd have us tied in a knot before we could blink. Her mind was fast as well, quickly figuring out someone's strategy wether it be in a war or playing battle ships. We've stuck together like glue from as far as I can remember and I've always found comfort and support with them.
I contemplated my life these past few years and the one thing missing was my Luna, my fated mate. I've searched and searched with no avail. How can you find someone in such a huge world? She's anywhere and everywhere. Some werewolf's never meet their fated and imprint, was I destined to be alone? Sure enough I liked sharing my bed and every night, I was hard and ready for someone. I'd find comfort inside a random women most nights, I'd tried abit of dating, even had a month relationship but I'd never imprint on someone to fill the role of Queen and to appease the great council. Once a werewolf mate bonds and imprints on a women, you're mated for life. Wearing each others marks, signifying your mated. Only if one dies is that connection broken and the other feels immense pain. Choosing the right partner would be complicated so I'd rather wait for the one that's meant for me. IF I ever got to meet her. It's not that I was desperate for a Luna, I just had odd pangs when I'd see my parents smooching or the noises coming from my Betas room at night, now he's found his mate. We're doing great anyways. Country's thriving. Surely I have time to find her before the pressure comes to take a Queen.
