Chapter 8 - The change

Elle

The sound of foot steps dissipated, only the quiet seeped through my room. I settled on my bed and stared at the ceiling. Unexpectedly my body started to feel very hot, it felt like a furnace, my bones and muscles burning with a strange, intense heat. I curled into a ball, clutching my cushion and steadied my breath, knowing that this was the morphing process. My skin felt like stretched wire, veins like thick, pulsing cables. I roared, a sound that wasn't human, a noise I'd never heard before. My body was twisting in pain and then I felt a shift in the earth, almost giving energy, a transfer of power. It didn't flow gently. It tore through my body like a flood, a shockwave of raw, screaming energy that threw me to my feet. Then followed by a dizzying rush. I could feel the power of strength running through my body, seeping through my very being. The power didn't feel like a gift; it felt like a responsibility I was not meant to bear. I felt the air rippling around me. Flashes of light danced in my vision. I was in agony, searing pain shooting through every nerve. I felt my limbs twist and reshape as bones broke, reformed and expanded. My muscles felt thicker. I hunched over and I felt my limbs shift In an un natural way, causing immense pain and rapturing my skin. Screams ripped through my throat as the pain became unbearable. My skin darkened and thick coarse hair rapidly started to sprout across my entire body. My face started to reshape and the jaw extended into a wolf like snout. I could hear myself screaming through the whole process. I felt my fingernails and toenails curl and lengthen and into sharp formidable claws. I knew my first change was always going to be the worst but I've never prepared myself for such excruciating pain, it was a barbaric and torturous process. My human form, gradually obscured as I grew into its beastial state. From the reflection of the fridge I could see myself perfectly in my wolf form, my fur was as white as snow and I was BIG! I'd seen a few werewolves in my time but not as big as me, I could almost touch the ceiling with my nose. My visions changed, sensors heightened, a howl roared through my throat. I felt Amari pushing through wanting to take over "I want to run El, let me run!" Exhausted from my traumatic event I gave in.

Elles mum, Jane.

I managed to pick up most of the furniture and tidy the mess up. I was still finding shards of glass in the cracks of the floorboards. I chucked big blankets over the settees and popped the photo frames back where they belonged. Within an hour it started to look okay again, like someone had just thrown a party. The Sun was slowly settling behind the mountains the coolness of the night coming forward, I shivered and wrapped myself up, making myself warmer, popping the kettle on and it was time to let Ellie out and see if she wanted something to eat. I dimmed the lights slightly and chucked logs on the fire making it cozy for El. A howl roared from beneath the floorboards causing me to jump from my skin. My wolf Jada pushing forward try to protect. "It's Elles wolf! Jay! Elles wolf! Both giddy with excitement I rushed to open the doors.

A giant white nose popped through the floor opening and then a huge wolf head with the most sparkling blue eyes you'd ever seen. She was too big to fit through the opening and I laughed in absolute happiness, the joy of seeing her huge white head popping through had me hunched over in giggles! I could tell Amari was amused moving her head side to side, panting with her hanging tongue. I ran over to her big head and rubbed her ears, giggling at the sight of her body still under the floor. "You're a beauty Amari! Such a beautiful wolf!" Her shoulder started coming through bit by bit until a paw appeared then another. She pulled herself out gracefully then shook herself off, showering patches of white fluff everywhere. Her big blue eyes sparkled in the dim light searching her home. I realised that we could communicate through our minds now and tried to push my way through, I'd taught her this in training so new she wouldn't be shocked by the sudden voice popping in her head . "Elle love can you hear me? Do you feel ok?" "Mum this is fucking awesome!" I could hear the excitement in Elles voice. "I feel amazing, I feel new, reborn!" Amari bounced around the room a little, joining in on the excitement, the floorboards shook a little and the photo-frames fell from their hanging spots. Amari suddenly stood frozen, her fur rising at the back. Her head turned to the open door, back to me and then back to the door. Before I could shout don't! She bolted. And my god she was fast. Seconds and she had disappeared, my little wolf wouldn't have a chance catching her up, so I let her go. Amari, Elles wolf was a beast, powerful and magnificent. I knew she was a fighter from the moment I saw her big white head. Elle and Amari together would be a force to be reckoned with. Maybe I was being biased but I wasn't worried, i'll let her have some time to herself then me and my wolf will go run with her.

King Alpha, Roman

By the time I made it back home, the taste of blood still lingering in my mouth, the sun was starting to set and the night was creeping in. Rylan decided on the long walk home sulking like a puppy, tail between his legs. Growling at any insect or creature that dared to come near. My formidable black beast had become a mardy ass. The forest was quite, too quite, the moons glow lighting the scenery. The air rippled around us, almost electric. A sudden bolt of white shot through the forest like sparks within the dark. "Mate! Shes found us Rome!" We were frozen in the dark, our fur blending into the scenery, glimpses of white In the distance coming closer. She was fast, faster than my wolf's eyesight could follow. We calmly walked into a round opening in the forest, the moon cascading down its glow, lighting little fragments of the ground beneath us. We layed down in the center almost showing submission and resting onto our paws. Her smell shooting through the wind, taking over our minds, melting my very core. I watched as the white wolf suddenly appeared and sat on the edge of the opening staring at us, turning her head the side to side. Her white glow evading the darkness, so bright, our eyes had to adjust. Her piercing blue eyes locked onto us. She gracefully walked over to us almost floating, stopped, sat down and stared down at us. We stared back, our visions interlocking. Rylans desire was cascading over the edge and I was losing the fight within, this was his moment so I let him free.
