Haejin considered that for a moment.
"Both," he said. "There are things we choose to show and things we keep. That's true of every person, not just idols. The difference is that our public side gets a lot more scrutiny." He glanced at the members briefly. "But the private version is not so different. What you see today is fairly close to what we are."
"Even for you personally?" the journalist pressed. "You're known for being quite controlled in press settings."
"I AM controlled in press settings," he said. "That's not performance. That's just who I am."
"And outside of press settings?"
He looked at the journalist.
"Still controlled," he said. "Mostly."
The room laughed. Doyun under his breath said "mostly is doing a lot of work in that sentence" and Minjae very quickly covered it with a cough.
After the interview wrapped and the journalists started filing out, Soorin was closing her kit when she heard him beside her.
"You two seem very comfortable."
She looked up.
