Chapter 28 - Injection.

"I shouldn't have gotten panicked and cut the call. I really shouldn't have," Sky thought, his eyes closed, as he pinched the bridge of his nose to calm himself before opening them again. He saw Isha giggling to herself.

"I shouldn't have rescued you either," Sky stated. Isha stopped laughing and retorted, "Come on, you don't need to be so serious over a harmless prank. But say whatever, it was so fun! You weren't this flustered when fighting that monster. Wait, what happened to that guy? Did he run away, or did you kill him? I heard his painful screams."

"Oh, he's alive," Sky replied, regaining his composure.

"What? Then what if he tries to…?"

"Don't worry, he won't. I'm going to talk with that guy tomorrow," Sky said with a thoughtful expression. Isha immediately interjected, "Wait, you mean you're going to meet him again? Then I'll come with you too. I can't leave you alone!" she declared with excitement.

"What the hell are you getting excited for? I'm not taking you there."

"Why?"

"Because, I guess there's no point in taking you there."

"I see. What are you going to talk with him about anyway?" she asked with curiosity.

"Well, I'm going to offer him a chance to join my side. I can use him. Since I, or that guy, aren't the only power holders, there are more. Although I'm not sure, it would definitely help."

"What? Turning that monster to your side? How does that help you?"

"I mean, look at you, you got yourself into trouble. Plus, I have my family to take care of, and I can't always be there, so he would be of good use if he joined my way."

"That's right, his powers were really strong. So, it's decided. I'm coming with you. If you go there, then take me with you," Isha insisted.

"No."

"Why?" she asked with disappointment.

"Because I guess you haven't apologized for what you did just now. You got me in trouble," Sky said calmly, his tone serious.

"Hah…? Just that? I'm sorry, my lord," Isha said with a smile, leaning forward.

"What's the point of saying that? You've already put me in trouble," Sky sighed.

"What trouble? Didn't you tell her you were at your girlfriend's house? So she might have already understood it. I mean, come on, what would a young girl and boy do together?" Isha said casually.

"But I didn't do anything like that, and you framed me," Sky said with disappointment, truly not wanting to deal with Sillia now.

"Hah…? What's with that disappointed sigh? Don't tell me you wanted to do something…?" she asked with a giggle, looking at Sky playfully.

"You know, girl, you don't need to try to tease me that much. You're just five years older than me; that doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. Did you forget how you were crying in my arm like a little girl?" Sky retorted, understanding her teasing.

"When did I deny that? I did cry, and I liked that, but what about you? You seem disappointed. Do you want to do something with me…?" she asked with a flirtatious voice, biting her lower lip, which made Sky pause before replying.

"Yes… I would love to do something," Sky said, his bold statement causing Isha to recoil slightly, her hand instinctively rising to her chest in defense.

"But not today. Only when I'm in the mood to do so," Sky finished with a smile, clearly enjoying her startled reaction.

"I didn't expect you to be so bold as to say that. Anyway, I wouldn't mind fulfilling some of your fantasies someday. Anyway, I'm going with you as well. I don't want to be selfish enough to let you go alone there. What if something happens to you?" Isha said with a smile, a faint pink hue lingering on her face.

"And you can't deny me this time; I've already said sorry."

"Why do you want to go? What would you even do there?"

"Anhh… nothing much. Just wanted to see his face when he sees me alive, after he tried to kill me. Hehe… so take me there," she said with a giggle.

"Okay, I will, but apologize once again, in a more formal way," Sky said. Isha blinked, then took Sky's hand, drawing closer to him. "My lord… please forgive yo—"

"Wait a sec…" Sky stopped her mid-sentence as something occurred to him.

"What happened, my lord?" she asked, confused.

"I forgot that you got stabbed in your thigh with a knife, right?" Sky asked, his tone calm.

"Huh…? Yes, why? You don't need to bandage me there; it's not much of an injury," Isha replied.

"No, no, I understand it's not much, but I have to give you a tetanus injection," Sky said, which immediately made Isha confused and worried.

"What do you mean, my lord?" she asked again.

"I mean, you don't need to say sorry to me anymore. It's my fault that I forgot about it. So, lay down on the bed and give me the injection that I brought with the other supplies," Sky said with a serious expression.

"What are… I don't want to take an injection! It will hurt! I don't need that. You can leave if you want," Isha pleaded. Sky's expression became worried.

"No, that's not good. You have to take that injection. If you don't, you could die after some time, and I don't want that to happen. Can't you see how much effort I've put into saving you? I can't let you die from such a minor thing. So, quickly, give me that plastic bag of supplies so I can leave." Sky urged. Isha hesitated but eventually handed him the bag. Sky took out the syringe, and the sight of the needle filled Isha with fear.

"You didn't give me one for this arm injury," she pointed out.

"No, I did. Now, lay down on the bed on your stomach and relax," Sky said, as he filled the syringe with a clear liquid. He seemed ready to inject it into Isha.

"Where are you going to inject me…? On my thigh…?" she asked with fear as she lay down. Sky didn't reply, just smiled with an evil grin.
