Chapter 243 - Chapter 243 Being Followed

After the security personnel discovered that Silas had been taken out, they immediately sounded the alarm. All security personnel responded at once, beginning to seal off the theater and prepare to catch the assassin.

However, the commotion from all the security personnel also drew the attention of the gangs who were already in a standoff below. They thought their whereabouts had been exposed, so they immediately pulled out their prepared submachine guns and began to fire wildly upwards.

This action, in turn, triggered a reactive response from the other group. The two gangs were locked in a fierce battle, while the security personnel upstairs mistook the gangs downstairs for the assassins, so they also started fighting with those below.

Instantly, all three sides opened fire simultaneously.

Zhang Jie, hiding in the regular audience seats, was stunned.

What the heck?

So there was already going to be a gang showdown down there?

The screams and frantic escapes of the audience also provided Zhang Jie with an excellent opportunity. He could blend into the chaotic crowd and take the chance to escape.

Just as he was about to run out, he noticed a female ballet dancer had fallen in front of him.

Out of kindness, he pulled her up as he passed her. Seeing that she had twisted her ankle slightly, he took her hand, put her arm over his shoulder, supported her waist, and helped her escape the theater.

The melee inside continued, with bullets flying, but Zhang Jie had already brought the girl to the theater entrance. Outside, people were still running and screaming.

"What a thrilling and exciting day," Zhang Jie said with a sigh.

He then led the girl to a spot across from the theater, where he had her sit on a stone block.

"How are you, can you walk on your own?"

Zhang Jie glanced left and right, and after confirming it was safe, he asked with a touch of concern. Although he was an assassin, he was still a human being.

"Thank you, I'm fine," the girl whispered.

Seeing this, Zhang Jie clapped his hands. "If you're okay, then I'll be going. Be careful."

With that, Zhang Jie turned and prepared to leave.

"Thank you. My name is Eve. What's your name?" the girl asked, looking up.

"Zhang Jie. No need to thank me."

As he spoke, Zhang Jie had already walked far away.

"Zhang Jie?"

Eve looked at Zhang Jie's retreating figure and smiled faintly. While Zhang Jie was helping her, she could clearly feel the Pistol hidden beneath his suit.

If it weren't for the fact that he harbored no ill will towards her, she would have already made her move.

But it certainly seemed to be just a coincidence.

Zhang Jie knew nothing about Eve, the female ballet dancer, but he was in a great mood.

Because the Assassin App already showed the mission as complete.

"Citibank International reminder: Your account ending in 1234 was credited with $150,000.00 on June 28. Available balance $1,198,425.75. If this was not done by you, please call 1-800-374-9000 immediately."

Hmm, the mission was completed very well. $150,000 was in hand, and seeing the account balance of $1.2 million, he was ecstatic.

And so, Zhang Jie, humming a tune, prepared to go to the parking lot to get his car.

However, just as he passed a car, his expression changed, though he continued to walk forward.

"That guy, if I'm not mistaken…"

Zhang Jie saw the man he had fought with last time in Chinatown. Without hesitation, he directly drew the MP9 from under his armpit.

Then, Zhang Jie flashed behind a pillar, taking cover.

Meanwhile, Teddy, who was in his car, did not notice Zhang Jie, as his full attention was on another car.

The person sitting in that car was the muscular Black man, McCall, who had already noticed Teddy's tailing.

Because in the past few days, he had learned that Teddy was secretly investigating him and had even paid him a visit.

He was truly arrogant.

But as he looked through his rearview mirror, he was startled to discover another person.

In the rearview mirror, Zhang Jie had already pulled out his Pistol.

And Teddy's car was diagonally behind Zhang Jie.

This scene made McCall feel a bit helpless and amused. How is it that you seem to be everywhere?

But letting that guy Teddy die just like that, McCall felt a bit unwilling, as he hadn't yet carried out his righteous judgment.

And clearly, that guy named Zhang Jie and Teddy also seemed to have a conflict, otherwise, why would he be in such a posture?

Zhang Jie had no idea that in this underground parking lot, he had actually encountered two old acquaintances.

But to be honest, he still hadn't figured out why that guy had targeted him that day. He didn't seem to have provoked him anywhere, had he?

He was currently debating whether to put a bullet in that man's forehead, while Teddy's car had already slowly driven past him.

However, due to Zhang Jie's position, where he couldn't be seen from either side, Teddy didn't notice someone hiding behind a pillar, wanting his life.

Since this car had already driven past, Zhang Jie could conclude that the other party wasn't there for him, so he put away his Pistol and got into his own car.

By the time Zhang Jie started his vehicle, the two other cars had long since disappeared, so Zhang Jie drove towards Brooklyn.

But what he didn't know was that a car had quietly followed him from behind.

Listening to music and singing songs, Zhang Jie returned to Brooklyn, but he didn't go back immediately. Instead, he started driving around Brooklyn in circles.

Then, he parked his vehicle in front of an abandoned building, opened the door, got out, and went upstairs.

Before long, another person arrived. He was wearing a black suit with a red tie, and his bald head was surprisingly dazzling in the sunlight.

Just like that, he pulled out the Pistol from under his armpit and walked up into the old building.

Zhang Jie was currently on the 5th floor. He drew his MP9 and leaned against the floor slab.

He knew he was being followed, he just pretended not to. Leading the person here was to see who was trying to get him again.

Soon, faint footsteps came from the stairwell. It seemed the person was coming up the stairs.

Zhang Jie pulled out the M84 stun grenade he was carrying and looked at a rope on the ground.

As the faint footsteps grew closer and closer, the bald assassin also arrived on the 5th floor. He cautiously held his gun, observing his surroundings, but found nothing.

Suddenly, he saw a shadow flash across the wall. He immediately raised his gun and peeked around in the opposite direction.

When he turned from that side, he saw a stun grenade dangling in mid-air.

And the safety pin was already gone.

"What the fu—"

Before he could finish his sentence, a burst of white light exploded instantly, and powerful shockwaves and infrasound waves filled his ears.

His eyes were instantly blinded, his ears were ringing, he lost his sense of direction, and he could barely stand steady.

At this moment, he didn't care about anything else. He aimed forward and randomly pulled the trigger.

Pfft pfft pfft!

He leaned against the wall with his hand, trying to keep himself steady, but his vision was filled with a white blur and patches of black dots.

And at this moment, Zhang Jie had silently appeared behind him.
