Chapter 52: Superman Strong

"Santino is coming to New York." That was the news Gianna had relayed to Tommy Vercetti.

Because Tommy had a thorough memory of the relevant film, he knew the sinister purpose of Santino's trip. If his memory served him right, Santino was heading to New York to find a powerful assassin to murder his sister, Gianna, in order to seize the leadership of the Camorra Family through this heinous, underhanded method. And the specific assassin Santino intended to find was none other than John Wick, who was right in front of Tommy.

Tommy Vercetti certainly would not let Santino's plan succeed. For one, he and Gianna were close allies, and Gianna had helped him immensely. On the other hand, he and Santino had a deep, personal vendetta. Although Santino had hidden it well, Tommy had long since realized that the hypocritical man was the one who had truly framed him, leading to his arrest and imprisonment in Redhaven Prison. Later, it was also Santino who spoke against him at the family meeting, proposing to send him to New York. With old and new grudges combined, he naturally wouldn't let Santino off easily.

Of course, as early as in Italy, he had the chance to get revenge. But the timing wasn't right then. While he could have killed Santino to vent his hatred, the problem was that he was a family head promoted by Gianna herself, and his act of shooting Santino could easily be misinterpreted by outsiders as following Gianna's direct orders. If that were the case, Gianna's reputation would be negatively affected, and the entire Camorra Family would descend into a state of panic and fear. Therefore, Tommy could only keep the grudge locked away and allow Santino to live a bit longer.

Fortunately, Santino didn't make him wait long. Just over a month later, the man couldn't wait any longer and was delivering his precious, foolish head right to Tommy Vercetti in New York. Since Santino was so eager to die, Tommy naturally had to fulfill his wish. Therefore, he and John Wick quickly discussed and decided to use a carefully orchestrated stratagem against him. When Santino was smugly convinced his scheme had succeeded, Tommy would appear and send Santino to hell with a single, definitive bullet.

After seeing John Wick off and confirming the details of their arrangement, Tommy Vercetti remained alone in the private room. The professional body collectors had finished their work, and now the VIP private room was spotless, showing no obvious signs of having just experienced a brutal gunfight. However, occasionally, a faint, metallic scent of blood could still be detected in the air. The smell was very subtle, and most people wouldn't notice it. Only someone like Tommy, who had a significant kill record, could discern the subtle difference.

Ignoring this minor issue, Tommy Vercetti continued to sip his red wine. Simultaneously, he opened his system display.

$$\begin{array}{|l|l|} \hline \text{Points:} & \textbf{1300} \\ \hline \end{array}$$

The demise of the Russian Gang's leadership had elevated his assassin achievements, earning him five hundred points. Adding to his existing savings, he could immediately initiate another lottery draw. There was no time like the present. Since he was the only one in the VIP private room, Tommy Vercetti simply opened the lottery function and invested a full thousand points.

The lottery wheel immediately began to spin, and familiar animated characters flashed before his eyes: "Popeye..." "Calabash Brothers..." "The Powerpuff Girls..." "Arale..." "Perry the Platypus..." "Hongmao..."

After a short while, the speed of the lottery wheel gradually slowed down, showing signs of stopping. Under Tommy's expectant gaze, it slowly stopped on a specific animated character. A silver-white uniform, a silver-white cape, and a large English letter 'M' drawn prominently on the chest.

Judging by this unique appearance, he could immediately guess that his lottery result this time was most likely related to Superman. That's right—after so many draws, Tommy had finally drawn the Superman archetype he had always wanted.

However, the Superman he drew was not the authentic Superman from the DC world next door. Instead, it was City Superman from the animated movie Megamind, who shared an almost identical origin and settings.

As a clear homage character, City Superman was born on the alien planet Flap-Flat Planet. Due to a natural disaster, Flap-Flat Planet was on the verge of destruction, and his parents used a small spaceship to send the infant City Superman to the distant Earth. The key was that City Superman's abilities were frighteningly similar to the original Superman's. He was incredibly strong; even his clone could easily lift a skyscraper. He also possessed super speed, moving so fast that the surrounding time almost stopped. As for the remaining abilities such as bio-electric aura, heat vision, and super flight, City Superman possessed every single one. To some extent, City Superman was a regular Superman without weaknesses.

Therefore, Tommy was naturally quite satisfied with this lottery result. No matter what specific ability he drew this time, even if it was just super vision, it would be a great enhancement. If he could draw super speed, then he would truly have hit the jackpot, able to be free and do as he pleased.

[Ability: Super Stamina]

[Source: City Superman]

[Origin: "Megamind"]

"Super Stamina?"

To say Tommy wasn't disappointed would certainly be a lie. Although Super Stamina was an excellent ability, it could only be considered an auxiliary function. It couldn't directly enhance his raw combat power. However, Super Stamina also had its clear advantages; at least Tommy no longer needed sleep and could remain full of energy indefinitely. This would effectively allow him to fight enemies all day long without tiring, much like Captain America.

"Alas, in that case, my Master-level Sleeping skill won't be needed anymore," the thought flashed through his mind with a touch of irony.

Tommy decided he needed to find a way to immediately test just how super his Super Stamina really was. However, before testing, he still had one last task to handle.

Outside the private room, Jin was sitting at the bar, holding a cocktail and slowly sipping it alone. Checking accounts was just an excuse. With her intelligence, it wasn't hard to guess her boss's true intention in sending her away. Therefore, she didn't enter the private room to disturb him but waited silently, awaiting his next instruction.

It was then that her phone, tucked in her pocket, suddenly vibrated. Jin took it out and saw it was a text message from Tommy Vercetti.

Tommy Vercetti stated in the message that he still had crucial matters to attend to and probably wouldn't be back until tomorrow morning. He told Jin not to wait for him and to drive home first. Jin read the message once, then shook her head, thinking, "It's like this again." To be honest, she was genuinely curious as to what kind of matters could make her boss always so mysterious and busy. However, if she really knew the truth—the bloody corpses, the John Wick alliance, the dead gang leader—she would most likely be stunned speechless for three days and three nights.
