Sunday evening, Maya and Zoe were in their dorm trying to study when Ethan knocked. Torres let him in after a quick security check.
"We need to talk," he said, closing the door behind him.
Maya's stomach dropped. "About what?"
"About the fact that you two orchestrated the most elaborate takedown I've ever seen and are pretending it was random mob justice." Ethan sat on Zoe's desk chair. "I'm not an idiot. I saw how coordinated it was. The timing. The execution. That was planned."
Zoe and Maya exchanged glances.
"We don't know what you're talking about," Zoe said carefully.
"Really? The shoe incident at practice happened hours before the party. At the exact moment Madison was distracted stalking you at the library." Ethan ticked off points on his fingers. "Mateo stood up at exactly 9:30 with physical evidence. The digital presentation hit at exactly 9:45. That's not coincidence. That's planning."
