A week passed by quicker than Ava expected, and somehow slower too. Each morning felt the same. Al she did was wake up, sit on her bed, try to convince herself to step out, fail and then another day passed.
Every time Clara gently asked if she wanted to follow her to the hospital, Ava politely declined. She couldn't bring herself to see him. She didn't even understand why. He saved her life, he had been stabbed because of her. She knew all of that, she replayed it every night before she slept, replayed the look on his face when he pushed her out of the way.
Yet she still couldn't walk into that hospital room.
But someone deep inside her. someone she didn't want to acknowledge was counting the days until he would come home.
Clara noticed of course she noticed, but she didn't say a thing about it or ask her.
