Chapter 10 - Chapter 10- Buying A Car

Yang Kai, however, sat unfazed by her driving. Instead of fear, his eyes reflected quiet awe. He turned his head to look out of the window, studying the bustling cityscape and its machines with genuine curiosity.

This world may have weak spiritual energy, he thought, but they've developed something else entirely—technology. From the memories I've absorbed, I've seen destructive weapons here. Their power… maybe strong enough to take down a Qi Refining sixth-layer cultivator at most.

His fingers brushed lightly over the dashboard, marveling at the craftsmanship of the vehicle. But soon his thoughts shifted inward, toward the golden-yellow system screen that hovered faintly in his mind.

And then there's this system… he mused. It gave me a pitch-black card—unlimited money. But there's a catch. I can only spend that money on opposite-sex, and whatever I spend, I'll only receive two percent back as usable funds.

A faint, knowing smile tugged at the corner of his lips as the sports car sped through the streets, closing in on the nearest showroom.

Lin Quizu stole a quick sideways glance at Yang Kai as the sports car sped down the road. Her fingers tightened slightly on the steering wheel, and her brows furrowed.

I'm driving at full speed, drifting through corners… and he hasn't said a single thing. Not even a flicker of fear or excitement, she thought, a faint scowl forming. Hmph. Acting like nothing fazes him, huh?

She exhaled softly, refocusing on the road.

Suddenly, the familiar yellow system screen flickered into view before Yang Kai's eyes.

[Host, Lin Quizu's Favorability Increased By 1]

[Current Favorability: 0]

Yang Kai blinked, his expression tightening slightly in surprise.

What? Her favorability increased? I didn't even do anything.

He sighed inwardly and turned his gaze back to the passing scenery beyond the window. The world outside seemed ordinary to anyone else, but to him, it was foreign and fragile.

I don't know when I'll be able to start cultivating again, he thought, the weight of his predicament pressing faintly at his chest.

Calling out the system silently in his mind, he summoned his profile window. The yellow screen shimmered into existence.

Yang Kai's eyes narrowed as he studied the screen.

I've already checked the mission window… but I haven't looked at the physique yet.

Lifting a finger, he tapped at the glowing words in the air.

From the corner of her eye, Lin Quizu noticed his hand moving through empty space. Her brows arched in confusion.

What on earth… is he poking at the air? Is his brain damaged or something?

The system screen shifted, presenting a new set of details.

Yang Kai's lips pressed into a thin line as he scanned the stats.

So this is my physique. Pathetic… If I could cultivate again, these numbers would be far beyond ten by now.

The car slowed abruptly, then came to a smooth stop. Lin Quizu switched off the engine, her voice cutting through his thoughts.

"We're here," she announced, pushing open her door and stepping out gracefully.

Yang Kai blinked, pulled from his musings. He glanced out of the window at the sleek glass building of the showroom.

"Oh, so we've arrived," he murmured, closing the system screen with a thought.

Opening the door, he stepped out of the sports car, the cool afternoon breeze brushing against his face.

The wind swept through Yang Kai's hair as he stepped out of the sports car, the strands floating lightly with the afternoon breeze. He adjusted his shirt, but his gaze quickly caught Lin Quizu's slim figure already striding toward the glass doors of the showroom.

Watching her back, Yang Kai muttered under his breath with quiet curiosity, "Why is she so cold toward everyone except that Qian Ruo girl?"

Sliding his hands into his pockets, he followed her inside.

The cool air of the showroom greeted them, carrying the faint scent of polished leather and new paint. A sharply dressed saleswoman hurried forward, bowing slightly.

"Sir, miss, welcome!"

Lin Quizu didn't waste a second. Pointing casually over her shoulder, she said, "My friend wants to buy a car."

Yang Kai stepped past both her and the saleswoman without hesitation, his eyes scanning the rows of gleaming vehicles under the bright showroom lights. He stopped in front of a sleek black model, his tone even as he spoke without looking back.

"I need a four-seater car. Don't worry about the money."

The saleswoman's professional smile widened as she moved to his side.

"Four-seater, understood." She gestured to a nearby model. "This is our Tortunerrrr 4D. It's one of our best four-seater cars—unique design, excellent performance. Just last month, we sold twenty units."

Yang Kai stroked his chin thoughtfully, then turned toward Lin Quizu, a teasing smile tugging at his lips.

"So, what do you think? Is this good, or should I choose another one?"

Lin Quizu's eyes lingered on the car. It was undeniably impressive—but the price tag was far from small. Her mind wavered.

It's a great car, but… can he really afford this? Should I step in?

With a reluctant smile, she offered quietly, "Well, it's good… should I buy it for you?"

Yang Kai ignored her final words entirely, his grin widening.

"So it's good? Then great."

He turned sharply to the saleswoman.

"I'll buy this car for that girl. Do the paperwork—and if possible, make it quick. I have important work to do."

The saleswoman blinked at his casual decisiveness before rushing off to prepare the documents, while Lin Quizu stood frozen for a heartbeat, her expression unreadable as she stared at Yang Kai's confident back.

Lin Quizu's eyes widened, her voice rising in shock and anger.

"Hey, what's that supposed to mean—for me?"

Yang Kai's lips curled into a slow, wicked smile.

"What do you mean? It's just a gift for you. And don't worry—I told you, I'll pay."

Her mouth opened as if to protest further, but before she could speak, the saleswoman returned, clutching a stack of papers and a POS terminal. She offered a bright, professional smile.

"Sir, here are the car papers. Please sign here."

Yang Kai tilted his head toward Lin Quizu, casually pointing his thumb behind him.

"It's for her. I'm just paying."

The saleswoman, slightly startled, nodded quickly and stepped in front of Lin Quizu. She handed over the paperwork, then turned back to Yang Kai and powered on the POS device.

"Sir, your total bill comes to 4,20,000 yuan."

Lin Quizu gave a sharp hmph and, with a flicker of hesitation, signed the papers.

That bastard… I'm not going to help him now. If this backfires, it's on him.

Yang Kai reached calmly into his pocket, take out the pitch-black card with effortless grace. He handed it to the saleswoman, who slid it into the machine and swiped.

Lin Quizu's heart skipped a beat. Embarrassment and unease twisted in her stomach.

What if it fails? What if he was bluffing all along? If this card declines, my reputation will take the hit.

The machine beeped. A clear, automated voice filled the air.

"Payment confirmed: 4,20,000 yuan."

The sound was crisp, final.

Lin Quizu froze for a moment, her breath caught in her throat. Her pupils dilated slightly as the reality sank in.

From the very start… I underestimated him. He spent four hundred thousand on me as if it meant nothing.

A soft, electronic chime echoed faintly in Yang Kai's ears, a sound only he could hear.

---

[Ding!]

[Host has spent 4,20,000 yuan. Host has received 8,400 yuan in the original account.]

---

Yang Kai's smile deepened ever so slightly, a flicker of triumph dancing in his eyes, while Lin Quizu stood silent.
