Chapter 96 - Three Kids VS A Chunin

One afternoon, Shinji was in the Hokage Office. He was reporting to Hiruzen about the mid-term exam arrangements for each grade at the Academy.

However, he was suddenly interrupted by a notification from the system panel.

[Disciple Naruto detected successfully defeating an enemy using Rasengan due to external pressure.]

[Triggered Disciple Strength Growth Teacher Synchronization]

[Reward: Combination Ninjutsu Comprehension mastered, Yang Chakra physique increased by ten percent]

[Due to your persuasion, Sasuke's mindset changed. Because Naruto was in danger, his intense emotions activated his bloodline and he awakened his Sharingan! Sasuke's strength has increased as a result.]

[Reward: Lightning Release Nature Transformation advanced to (Extraordinary)]

[Disciple Shikamaru detected realizing that even the most perfect tactics require the cooperation of strength, due to a flaw in his plan.]

[Reward: Chakra +1000, Yin Release advanced to (Extraordinary)]

???

Looking at the rewards constantly popping up on the panel, Shinji's first reaction wasn't joy. He instinctively wanted to instantly flash over to the Academy.

A mere Mizuki, and his Shadow Clone was there, so why were his disciples suddenly all getting these rewards?

Hiruzen noticed Shinji's abnormality and asked in confusion, "What's wrong, Shinji?"

Interrupted by Hiruzen, Shinji finally received the information transmitted back after his Shadow Clone was dispelled.

After confirming that his disciples were no longer in danger, he let out a heavy sigh of relief. Fortunately, Naruto and the others were unharmed.

Composing himself, Shinji then looked at Hiruzen and said, "Sensei, I just received feedback from the Shadow Clone I left at the Academy. Mizuki, the intern teacher, attempted to attack Naruto and Sasuke, but he has already been apprehended."

"What?!" Hiruzen immediately stood up, but then calmed down after hearing the rest.

"I apologize, sensei, it was my oversight." Shinji bowed.

He hadn't considered everything thoroughly. However, his Shadow Clone probably didn't appear immediately to apprehend Mizuki because it detected the burst of Yin Chakra from Sasuke.

"There's no need for that, after all, you weren't at the Academy." Hiruzen said, waving his hand, then picked up the Hokage hat from the table.

"Let's go, let's head over to the Academy and take a look."

Shinji nodded and followed Hiruzen's footsteps to the Academy.

On the rooftop of Ninja School, Iruka was restraining Mizuki, who was severely injured and unconscious.

The surrounding teachers looked at Naruto, Shikamaru, and Sasuke with disbelief. Three first-year students defeated a teacher who had been a Chunin for two years.

Who would believe such a thing if it were told?

But the truth was before their eyes, as the unconscious Mizuki was solid proof.

"Naruto, are you all alright?"

After tying up Mizuki, Iruka looked at Naruto and the others and asked.

Naruto was stunned for a moment, then shook his head and said, "We're fine, Iruka-sensei."

Shikamaru was slumped on the ground, shaking his head.

Sasuke was still shocked by his Sharingan and didn't pay attention to Iruka's concern.

Shinji's figure instantly appeared in the middle of the scene at an extremely fast speed, then he spoke to the still-observing teachers, "All teachers will gather in the conference room later. For now, disperse and comfort the students."

"Yes."

The teachers, having received the order, responded solemnly one by one and began to disperse.

"Naruto, Sasuke, Shikamaru, how are you all?" Shinji then turned to his disciples and asked.

"Sensei! Sensei! I learned Rasengan!" Naruto exclaimed excitedly the moment he saw Shinji.

"We're fine, sensei." Shikamaru and Sasuke replied, shaking their heads.

"Alright, that's not important. Let me take a look first." Shinji patted Naruto's head, and while doing so, checked his physical condition.

Even with the feedback from the Shadow Clone, he still needed to confirm it himself. Fortunately, Naruto's body had no abnormalities, and he finally relaxed.

Hiruzen, walking slowly, arrived on the rooftop and glanced at Mizuki, who lay on the ground like a dead dog and spoke with a cold voice, "Shinji, hand Mizuki over to the Intelligence Department."

"Yes, sensei." Shinji nodded, and grabbed Mizuki with one hand.

He said to Naruto and the others, "Naruto, Shikamaru, Sasuke, you all go back to the classroom first."

With that, he instantly disappeared from the spot.

"Grandpa Hokage." Naruto called out to Hiruzen.

Hiruzen smiled and patted Naruto's head, saying, "Naruto, listen to your teacher first and go back to the classroom."

"Okay, Grandpa Hokage."

After saying that, Naruto called Shikamaru and Sasuke, and the three walked down from the rooftop together.

At night, Shinji, having finally dealt with Mizuki's matter, arrived at the training ground.

As soon as he entered the training ground, he saw his disciples gathered together.

Shinji walked forward slowly, smiling as he asked, "What's wrong with all of you?"

Ino turned to Shinji and said with a worried expression, "Sensei, Shikamaru hasn't really been talking to us."

Hearing this, Shinji realized that Shikamaru didn't seem to be there.

After looking around, he found Shikamaru under a tree. He first comforted his disciples, then walked towards Shikamaru.

"Shikamaru, this time it was my oversight."

Shinji's first words interrupted Shikamaru, who was deep in thought.

"Sensei, I was too overconfident myself." Shikamaru shook his head.

He hadn't contacted Shinji beforehand but had acted directly.

Shinji sat down next to Shikamaru and spoke patiently, "If tactics could be perfect, then what would we need ninjas for?"

"You and Naruto are a team. If you attribute everything to your plan not being perfect, Naruto and the others will never grow. No matter how perfect your deployment is, you still need to adapt to the situation."

"Besides, didn't Naruto and Sasuke also not disappoint you?"

Listening to Shinji's words, Shikamaru gradually looked up.

"Sensei, you are truly cunning. You could have just told me directly, but you had to let events teach me to reflect."

Shinji laughed when he heard this. Shikamaru being able to say this meant he had come to terms with it.

"I don't have your high intelligence, Shikamaru, but I understand one principle: experience teaches a person once, and they learn."

"Tch."

Although Shikamaru was annoyed, he knew Shinji was right.

If Shinji had just lectured him, he might not have taken it as seriously.

Shikamaru said to Shinji with a serious expression, "Sensei, from now on, I hope you can train me well."

"Alright, but I think you should go talk to Naruto and the others first." Shinji said, pointing to the several people who were still watching from not far away.

"What a drag." Though he said that, Shikamaru immediately stood up.
