Chapter 172 - Yōkai Registration in Danger?

"How was it, Sasuke?"

It was still a routine sparring session, and Naruto asked Sasuke with a smug expression.

"It was alright. I'll catch up later."

Although Sasuke was impressed with Naruto, seeing his smug expression still annoyed him greatly.

It seemed he needed to ask for his brother's help more often, his genjutsu needed to be strengthened as soon as possible.

"Tch, I'm not standing still." Naruto pouted.

Sasuke, that arrogant guy, couldn't even admit defeat gracefully.

"Alright, you two always have to do this every time you spar?" Ino said laughingly.

Naruto and Sasuke had almost the same routine every time.

Sparring, results, bickering, mutual taunts.

Hearing this, Sasuke turned his head away, a hint of embarrassment on his face.

Shikamaru slowly walked over and said, "Ino, it's not just when they spar, it's already a daily occurrence."

Naruto asked, wrapping an arm around Shikamaru's shoulder, "Don't mind such small things, Shikamaru, what do you think sensei went to do?"

"Don't lean on me, it's too hot." Although Shikamaru said this, he didn't push away Naruto's hand on his shoulder.

"It should be a Jonin meeting. I just saw a ninja hawk fly by."

Shikamaru naturally knew about the ninja hawks that notified Jonin of meetings. After all, his father often left in the middle of their shogi games because of it.

Naruto said with a surprised expression, "Oh, a Jonin Meeting, I wonder when I'll be able to become a Jonin."

Sasuke, who was on the side pondering Shikamaru's words, heard Naruto and couldn't help but say, annoyed, "Loser, aren't you thinking too far ahead? You haven't even graduated yet."

"Moreover, it's said that to be promoted to Jonin, you need to memorize a lot of books."

Naruto said with great confidence, "Tch, I'll conquer this mountain of theoretical knowledge sooner or later."

Shikamaru and Sasuke exchanged glances, both understanding each other's thoughts.

Rather than conquering theoretical knowledge, it would be more practical for Naruto to just train.

Shinji's gentle voice sounded. "Oh? I didn't expect your ideological awareness to be so high just from me leaving for a bit, Naruto?"

"How about I exert myself and give you some theoretical questions? Just for practice."

"No! Sensei! I was just kidding!"

Naruto was so scared that he quickly ran to Shinji and hugged his leg.

Bragging was one thing, but it didn't mean he actually wanted to do theoretical questions.

"Alright, you're so unpromising." Shinji lifted Naruto impatiently and ruffled his hair.

Shinji said while ruffling Naruto's hair, "But Sasuke is right, becoming a Jonin isn't just about reaching a certain level of strength. It also requires meeting mission standards and various other qualities."

"Eh, it's like that too." Hearing this, Naruto became dejected.

He wasn't slacking off now, but he could still only achieve a B grade in theoretical knowledge.

Seeing Naruto's expression, Shinji didn't say anything to comfort him. After all, this was the truth, but if one's strength reached the top of the Ninja World, that would be another matter.

Shinji clapped his hands and said to his disciples, "Alright, let's end today's training. I have a mission tonight, so how about I take you guys to eat barbecue first?"

"Yay!" Choji and Naruto cheered.

"Meow! Barbecue?!"

From the side of the training ground, a chubby figure rushed out.

Shinji's lips twitched. This damned cat was really active when it came to food.

Shinji squatted down and said, "You can eat, but for the next few days, you'll have to take Naruto and the others for training."

This cat was increasingly showing a tendency to become a glutton.

"No problem." Mimi nodded decisively.

Inside the barbecue restaurant.

Shinji slowly picked up a cup of tea, blowing on the hot steam while watching his disciples still struggling with their food.

He watched the passing owner's polite demeanor towards him. Shinji couldn't help but twitch his lips. This was clearly how one looked at a god of wealth.

It was no wonder the owner acted this way, after all, among Shinji's disciples, Naruto, Choji, and Hinata were all big eaters. Now there was also Mimi, who was like a bottomless pit.

Shinji felt that his wallet, which had just been replenished after being promoted to Jonin, was already a bit depleted. It seemed he had to get some more medicinal formulas for Choza-senpai. The previous ones might not even be enough for his disciples to eat.

Time passed, and the barbecue restaurant owner came over with a regretful expression and said that all the meat for the day had been consumed. Only then did Shinji tell Naruto and the others to stop, and then instructed the owner to settle the bill.

After paying, everyone sat in the private room, slowly sipping tea to cut through the grease. Even Mimi had a comfortable expression.

After finishing a cup of tea, Mimi turned to Shinji and said, "Shinji, I'll come again next time."

"You won't get full." Shinji reached out and tapped Mimi's head.

"I'm only eighty percent full." Mimi protested, covering his forehead.

"Eh, Mimi-sensei is so amazing." Naruto said with a surprised expression upon hearing this.

He had seen that Hinata and Mimi ate the most in the entire place. But now, even Hinata was constantly drinking tea. Mimi-sensei, with his small body, showed no change at all.

Mimi jumped onto the sofa and said with a proud expression, "Of course, I am a daiyōkai closest to the realm of gods."

"If a daiyōkai with divinity saw you like this, they would definitely revoke your yokai registration."

Shinji grabbed Mimi and said to his disciples, "Alright, everyone go home. I still have something to do."

"Yes, sensei!" Naruto and the others responded in unison.

Shinji nodded, turned around, and walked out of the barbecue restaurant.

Mimi, who was held by the scruff of his neck, struggled for a while but couldn't break free. He could only give up struggling and let Shinji carry him like that.

Mimi turned to Shinji and asked, "Where are we going? I think there's still a smell of meat in the private room, I wanted to smell it more."

"To meet a lonely genius." Shinji said while placing Mimi on his shoulder.

"And what's the point of smelling meat? You'll just get hungry again later."

Shinji knew about Mimi's terrible digestion. After eating so much, he might digest it all by late night.

"Hehe, when I came out just now, I conveniently took some barbecue seasoning. Tonight, I plan to go to the forest and catch a wild boar." Mimi somehow pulled out two bottles, saying proudly.

Slap—

Shinji impatiently slapped Mimi and slowly said, "Don't lead Naruto and the others astray, or I'll cut your rations."

"Yes, Shinji-sama!"
