Einahart acted quickly after Sho lost consciousness from the blood loss.
"I have to stop the bleeding! Is there something in that shack...!"
It was a rest area for inspections. Inside, there were some preserved foods, drinking water, a napping room, and—what Einhart was looking for—a small medical kit.
With trembling hands, she anxiously spread out the first-aid kit. The earnest Einhart was able to put what she learned in school into practice. However, it was a severe injury for her first time treating one.
Even though she wasn't doing any strenuous exercise, sweat poured down her face. Her breathing was rougher than it would have been from a hard run.
But Einhart persevered. The bleeding had mostly stopped from the pressure and hemostatic agent. It was a testament to her full effort, given what she had to work with.
After putting Sho to bed in the napping room, Einhart lay down next to him and relaxed. Einhart, who had been too excited to sleep the night before, felt her eyelids growing heavy.
Just as they were about to close, a scream from outside jolted her awake.
"Was that Todo-san's voice?"
The voice intensified her wariness. She switched to her adult mode, sharpened her senses, and went outside.
There, she found Kirin and Yo, the source of the scream. Both were soaked, with water dripping onto the ground. Kirin had fallen on her backside, seeing the ground stained with Sho's blood and his exposed, severed arm.
Beside her, Yo picked up the Space Caliber Super Cosmic Sword, which hadn't been retrieved. Yo, who was usually so calm and natural, furrowed her brow at the sight.
"S-Stratos-san! W-what is this...!"
"Einhart, what happened? Where's Sho?"
They looked exactly like themselves. The face, the voice, the body.
However,
"Stop right there."
That alone wasn't enough to prove they were the "real thing."
"...Einhart?"
"W-what's wrong?"
Having been so easily deceived by Whitesnake, even though it was incredibly difficult to tell, Einhart couldn't let them near Sho so easily.
Since the invisible enemy hadn't finished off Sho when he was in that state, they might have already retreated, but there was always the possibility.
(But what should I do...?)
Einhart had no idea how to tell if the two people in front of her were real, as she had only ever focused on martial arts.
(No, that's not right. I can't just be 'telling them apart'.)
She had seen Sho's resolve. His willingness to cut off his own arm without hesitation to defeat the invisible enemy and protect her.
(Now it's my turn to 'protect' him.)
"Kasukabe-san, Todo-san, where have you been?"
"Um, I was with Kasukabe-senpai the whole time since we fell... I can't swim..."
"Yeah. We followed Sho's scent to get here, but nobody was chasing us."
"I see... Todo-san, please forgive my rudeness. Get your sword ready."
"—Huh?"
Einhart attacked Kirin without her consent. Although surprised, Kirin parried the attack with relative calm.
Their fists and swords clashed for a moment before Einhart backed down.
"Thank you."
(This swordsmanship is definitely the same as during the duel with Yozuki-senpai... It's not something you can copy just by watching.)
"Kasukabe-senpai, when we visited your house yesterday, what were you eating?"
"Huh? The manju from that one shop?"
(This is also correct.)
Einhart had to believe they were the "real thing" based on the methods she had available.
"I apologize for my rudeness. The truth is—"
---------
"—That's what happened."
"Hwaaah..."
"Something like that..."
Yo, who understood that the opponent they faced was a Stand user from Einhart's explanation, then explained what a Stand was to the other two.
It was an ability they had never heard of on the island, and their reactions were a mix of understanding and confusion.
"So, Sho is inside?"
"Yes. I gave him first aid and he's sleeping now."
They immediately went inside and saw Sho lying there. They had heard the explanation and knew his condition, but the sight of him made them freeze for a moment.
However, You quickly moved to check on his injury.
"Yep, the treatment is done. Did you contact anyone outside?"
"Oh, not yet!"
Perhaps because Sho's injury was so shocking, Einhart had focused entirely on treating his wounds.
She quickly used the radio to contact someone. The operator said a rescue team would arrive in 30 minutes.
With that, there was nothing left to do. The three of them weren't the type to start conversations, so they sat in silence, a subtle distance between them, feeling somewhat restless.
Just then,
"Achoo!"
Kirin sneezed.
She hadn't dried herself with a towel, and her clothes were still soaked. Her body must have gotten cold.
"You might catch a cold like this. Why don't you go take a shower?"
"Yes."
"That's a good idea."
At Yo's suggestion, the three of them went to the shower room.
There were plenty of towels and toiletries provided. Fortunately, there were also several free-size tracksuits, likely for workers dealing with water.
They put their wet, heavy clothes into a dryer and entered the small, private shower stalls. Even though only a few hours had passed since they woke up, their bodies felt exhausted.
Hot water poured over their bodies. As they warmed up, they felt a little of their fatigue wash away.
(They're huge...)
Einhart's eyes were drawn to the two large "things" on Yo and Kirin. They were incomparable to her own. Kirin, the owner, tilted her head when she noticed Einhart's gaze.
"Um... is something wrong?"
"N-no! Nothing at all..."
Einhart quickly looked away, trying to erase the sight from her mind. She unconsciously shook her head, which only made Kirin more suspicious.
(That's right. It's incredibly rude to stare at someone's physical features! Todo-san must think they just get in the way when she swings her sword—)
"I could tell even with your clothes on, but Kirin, your chest is huge."
"Huh? U-um, Kasukabe-senpai. If you stare like that... and what's with your hand movements...?"
(OH, COME ON!)
Just as the image of the twin hills that had been seared into her retina was about to fade, a heartless remark ruined all her efforts.
"U-um, Kasukabe-senpai? Todo-san is uncomfortable, so maybe you should stop..."
"Einhart, don't you think it's unfair?"
"Huh?"
"Kirin and you are the same age. And I'm even older than you. Don't you think it's strange?"
"I-it... Gulp."
At Yo's prompt, Einhart's eyes were drawn back to Kirin's chest. Embarrassed by their stares, Kirin covered herself with her arms even though she was wrapped in a towel. This caused the aforementioned things to be squashed into a very... significant state.
"N-no! Having them too big can cause shoulder pain and hurt when you move—"
"Oh, that's right. Einhart, you have a nice figure when you're in your adult mode."
"T-that's not for that kind of purpose! That form gives me a longer reach and makes it easier to use the Hegemon Style techniques—"
"Then, Kirin, I'll take a little from you."
"Huh? Ah?!"
Yo, who clearly wasn't listening, advanced on Kirin with a lascivious expression. She reached out toward her chest, but,
"Hm."
Kirin easily blocked her with one hand holding the towel. No matter how many times she tried, the result was the same. Kirin gracefully evaded her with footwork that seemed to predict her every move.
"Mmm, her guard is too strong."
"Kasukabe-senpai! I'm going to get mad!"
At her words, Yo stopped her hands with a look that said, "fine."
(So this is the kind of person my senior is living with...)
Einhart silently prayed for the ever-suffering Sho.
---------
We were once again without anything to do, so we sat down near where Sho was sleeping. The room we thought was a napping room had tatami mats, and in the corner, a long table and futons were stacked. It was unusual to see tatami in a public facility, but it was probably appreciated for its versatility.
Some time had passed since we took a shower, but no one had arrived yet.
Sho was sleeping with a pale face. Kirin instinctively grabbed his hand and was surprised.
"He's cold..."
Perhaps from the massive blood loss, Sho's body temperature was dropping. The warmth from her shower made the temperature difference even more unsettling.
"This might be a problem..."
"Right, I'll turn on the heater—"
"What are you saying, Einhart? That's not it."
"Huh?"
Einhart was confused by the voice telling her to stop. She wondered what could be wrong with trying to warm up the room for someone whose body was cold. Surely, she wasn't suggesting lighting a fire indoors.
Einhart began to feel a vague sense of dread.
You raised her finger and said without hesitation,
"We'll warm him up with our body heat."
"...Huh?"
"...Yes?"
The idea was so absurd that both Einhart and Kirin froze.
"If you're stranded in a snowy mountain, you take off your clothes and hug each other to stay warm, right?"
"What are you saying!?"
"This isn't a snowy mountain, is it!?"
The two of them turned bright red and protested.
"Don't be selfish, you two. What if Sho dies?"
"Guh."
"Th-that..."
Yo hit them where it hurt. However, massive blood loss from a severed arm wouldn't be fixed just by warming up his body. This was just You's clever talk.
"R-right. Yozuki-senpai has helped me so much. I can just hug him to warm him up...!"
"Todo-san!? Don't be swayed by Kasukabe-senpai! Think about it carefully!"
"...I wish you wouldn't make so much noise."
"Ah, Sho. Were you awake?"
"Eh?!"
Sho's eyes were barely open.
"Amazing. Normally, you'd wake up in a hospital room. You're like a zombie."
"I've had enough of zombies. Seriously, what am I going to do about that...?"
"Huh? Did you say something?"
"Nothing."
My mind, hazy from the lack of blood, somehow thought about the recent fight with Whitesnake.
The pain felt muted due to the blood loss, but it still hurt more than when Tina stabbed me.
"...I shouldn't have woken up. I can't move, and it hurts so much I want to cry."
"If you want to cry, I'll lend you one of our chests."
(Only one of us can lend a chest, though?)
It was a reckless thought that I would normally have said out loud. Thankfully, I didn't this time. If I had, a new war might have broken out.
"So, who do you want?"
"You were still talking? You don't have to push yourself."
Even the incredible pain felt muted to Sho. Normally, he might have joked, "If you're offering, then yes, please," but he couldn't even do that. Which was natural, of course.
"Th-then, please excuse me!"
"Ah, okay. Huh?"
Sho, who had assumed no one would come, was surprised to see Kirin hugging him on his good side.
Was it because his body temperature was so low? He was squeezed between two extremely warm, soft things. Not only that, but she wrapped her legs around him, too. Her moderately muscular thighs put pressure on his palms.
"H-how is it?"
"Very good."
(How can I be so detailed...?)
What was all that about the pain feeling muted? Sho felt a sense of panic at his own lack of self-control, as he could even feel Kirin's breath.
"W-well, if Todo-san is doing it... I was helped by him, too."
Einhart came to his right side. Since he was injured, she just touched his arm rather than hugging him. It was a kind of cuddling. Considering her own shyness, this was the absolute closest Einhart could be.
"Thank you, for my sake. I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it... if my arm just stays attached."
Sho was beginning to regret cutting off his arm. He even started planning to get a prosthetic arm and a psychogun if it didn't heal.
"Then I'll take this side..."
"You're going on top?"
"I'm not that heavy, am I?"
"No, but..."
The two girls on either side of Sho seemed to be in a different world entirely, as they didn't react to You's actions.
You slowly lay on top of Sho. As always, he was more than just surrounded by flowers. To the men of the world, this was an enviable situation beyond words.
"Huh?"
"What's wrong?"
"Something feels hard..."
They say that when a man is at death's door, he tries to pass on his genes.
"My, Sho, you really are a pervert. Were you looking at me that way, too? Are all the girls around you your targets?"
"N-not really, I honestly haven't looked at you that way..."
"...If you weren't injured, I'd knock you down. Or maybe pin you down."
"What are you expecting after only a few days? And what do you mean, 'pin me down'?"
"Do you think I'm joking? In that case, should we take things a little further right here?"
"Eh?"
Yo's face got closer. I was securely pinned on both sides and on top, so I couldn't resist—
"Is anyone there?! Are you okay?!"
The rescue team arrived, and we were saved just in the nick of time. I don't know what was saved, but something was.
---------
(I'm sorry, Sho. I was just kidding earlier. I don't know about the other two, though.)
Yo thought to herself as she watched Sho being treated in the rescue boat.
