Chapter 56 - Chapter C-XXVII : The Purge of Capitalism.

On the 17th of November, Space Era Year 105, the chronicles of Centory would carve this day into eternity as the "Cosmos-Shattering Day." For it was on this fateful morning that Lord Aelyzabeth Thors signed a decree that would alter the economic structure of human civilization forever.

The Great Capital Purge.

At dawn, Aelyzabeth affixed her seal upon a classified directive whose shockwaves tore through the Empire within minutes.

She proclaimed the Purge of Capital—accusing over ninety conglomerate networks across the realm of conspiring to overthrow the government and replace it with a puppet regime crafted to serve interstellar megacorporations.

And in a single night—

Ninety corporate titans were seized.

All megacorp structures were frozen.

Hundreds of executives were arrested.

Advocates of fiat capitalism were declared "Enemies of the State."

The news spread across the galaxy within hours. Every nation within the Human Federation recoiled in shock, convinced that Centory had stepped boldly into an era of absolute economic autocracy.

Yet Lord Aelyzabeth appeared upon every monitor in Berlyn and spoke with icy finality:

"So long as money is power, the capitalists remain the greatest threatto the freedom of the people."

Some crowds cheered. Others trembled. All commerce across the system fell into a stunned silence.

The Fall of Fiat System.

Amid the chaos, Aelyzabeth signed a second decree—greater, harsher, and without warning.

There was no transition period. No negotiation. No prior announcement.

She abolished the fiat monetary system entirely.

And replaced it with a system as ancient as civilization itself : a currency backed solely and absolutely by gold.

She named it:

The Thors Monetary System (TMS)

Its principles were absolute:

Every unit of currency must be backed 100% by physical gold.

Economic growth must reflect true production and real consumption.

Debt shall no longer define the value of money.

And thus the Centory Pound surged in value:

1 Centory Pound = 5 Earth Dollars, instantly and irrevocably.

The decree took effect that same day. Commercial banks collapsed like dominos.

Many nations—Ponland, New Titan, and the Interstellar Trade Union—declared immediate economic emergencies.

Import Tariffs: From 30% to 50% at Once.

To prevent foreign capital from exploiting market disarray, Aelyzabeth raised import tariffs from 30% to 50% in a single command—with only one exemption:

The Special Economic Zone of Tiraxinosys, the Empire's frontier of industrial hyper-innovation.

Trade goods from other worlds skyrocketed in price, while Centorian-made products flourished like wildfire.

The Shockwaves Through the Universe.

Centory was a nation that—

Commanded one-third of the economic power of human civilization,

Held one of the strongest armies in existence,

And exerted immense influence over Earth's stability.

Thus, for Aelyzabeth Thors to annihilate the capitalist foundation of the known universe in a single day—on the grounds of a suspected conspiracy—was an act that sent shockwaves across the stars.

Global stock markets collapsed. The Earth Dollar convulsed violently.Gold prices reached heights unseen in the entire Astral Age.

The World Security Council declared:

"Lord Aelyzabeth Thors has shatteredthe economic equilibrium of human civilizationin a single day."

A Prelude to War?

Simultaneously, Aelyzabeth announced a historic increase in the Ministry of Kreig budget—a sudden expansion of 68%.

Despite the fact that:

No war was declared,

No foreign threat existed,

No troop movement had been ordered—

Analysts across the stars began whispering a single, terrifying conclusion:

She is preparing for war.And the most likely target is—Earth Republic.

A Fractured Mind Returning?

Many questioned whether such extreme decisions were grounded in statecraft—or whether the shadow of her past afflictions had returned.

Whispers grew of the psychological fractures that had once plagued Lord Aelyzabeth, perhaps rekindled by the long surgeries, the mounting stress, and the rising tide of paranoia.

But none dared utter such thoughts aloud.

For all knew one immutable truth:

Those who challenge the will of Lord Aelyzabeth Thorsdo not meet a gentle end.

Thus ends Chapter C-XXVII.
