Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Declaration

Chapter 15: The Declaration

The Iago Tower dormitory was a sanctuary, its flickering candles casting warm shadows on warped mirrors, their reflections softening the scars of the Ministry's labyrinth and the Nevermore ruins' fight. The air smelled of bubbling pumpkin juice and cedar smoke, a chipped goblet on a scarred table brimming with celebratory drink, its tart scent grounding Leo's relief. We got Lila back. We're still standing. His heart swelled, though the Black Thorn's threat lingered like the ruins' hum, a reminder of the hydra's echo. Enid leapt into his arms, her scarf brushing his cheek, her voice radiant with joy.

"We're unstoppable!"

Her hug was a lifeline, cementing their bond, her warmth chasing away the Ministry's chill. She's my anchor. Agnes conjured a shower of golden confetti, her wand sparking playfully, her eyes bright with laughter.

"Heroes deserve a show!"

She's our spark. Lila raised a goblet, her voice steady, her torn scarf a badge of redemption.

"To us."

She's one of us again. Leo grinned, sipping the tart juice, its fizz tickling his throat.

"Not heroes. Just a damn good team."

This is bigger than us—Outcasts, petrified students, justice. A curious voice broke through, Cho Chang at the doorway, her Ravenclaw robes glinting, her tone calm but intrigued.

"A rally? Curious move."

Leo's voice was firm, purpose igniting like a flame.

"Not a rally. A declaration."

We're fighting for everyone. A frayed parchment scrap, stained with ink from their planning, fluttered in a draft, grounding their defiance, tying to the ledger's truths. Hermione's quill paused, her eyes fierce.

"We expose them. All houses, all creatures."

She's our strategist. The barriers hummed, sealing their sanctuary, a faint echo of their dorm's defiance against the Ministry's warnings.

The dormitory turned war room, its air thick with the scent of ink and melted wax, scattered quills littering the table as Hermione sketched battle plans, her brow furrowed, ink smudging her fingers. She's relentless. The barriers hummed faintly, a reminder of their fight against the Black Thorn, their glow tying to Pixel's cure. Leo's fingers ached from gripping his wand, a physical cost of their relentless push. We're building a rebellion. Hermione's voice was resolute, her quill scratching furiously.

"We need to unite the houses."

She's right. This is for everyone—Outcasts, wizards, creatures. Leo nodded, his voice steady, purpose burning.

"Outcasts, wizards, creatures. All in."

The air shimmered, a script pulsing in his vision.

[REBELLIONS START SMALL. DON'T TRIP AT THE START LINE.]

A spark animation flashed, glinting like a promise. Leo muttered, grinning, his heart racing.

"Trip? We soar."

We're a rebellion now. Enid nudged him, her voice playful, her scarf catching on the table's edge.

"Rebellion? Sounds like a party."

"You're the host."

Her tease drew a laugh, easing the tension, tying to their dorm's unity after Lila's rescue. Agnes conjured a shimmering banner illusion, its edges flickering.

"Let's make it a big party."

Her grin was infectious, a spark of hope. We're unstoppable. A chipped candlestick dripped wax, its pool hardening, grounding their purpose. We'll show them justice.

The Great Hall was a sea of color—Gryffindor red, Ravenclaw blue, Slytherin green, Hufflepuff yellow, mingled with Nevermore's somber robes, their hues blending like a defiant tapestry. The air hummed with tense energy, whispers rippling as Leo stepped onto the stage, holding the ledger and forest documents, their weight heavy as the Basilisk venom vial from the Chamber. This is it. The truth. His voice rumbled, steady, telling the story of the Nevermore shutdown, the Beast Echo curse, the Black Thorn's conspiracy to control Outcasts. His beast-speaking reached out, owls hooting in outrage from the rafters, rats scurrying in the floorboards, amplifying his words with their fury. Even the creatures are with us. The crowd's whispers turned to gasps, then a low roar of outrage, the hall's chandeliers flickering as if joining the rebellion.

A Gryffindor girl stormed the stage, her voice shaking with emotion.

"Outcasts belong!"

Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws, Slytherins joined, hands clasping, a tide of unity washing over the hall. Neville, clutching a magical herb sprig, smiled nervously, his voice quiet but determined.

"Plants… join too? Roots for unity!"

His awkward charm sparked laughter, easing the tension, tying to the group's playful moments in the dorm. He's one of us. The air shimmered, a triumphant script pulsing.

[BUILDING A COALITION? NOT BAD, KID!]

A banner animation flashed, its colors vibrant. Leo corrected, pride swelling in his chest.

"Coalition? Family."

We're unstoppable. The hall's applause roared, robe colors blending like a living banner, a chipped goblet on a nearby table glinting faintly. We've lit the spark. But a Slytherin's hesitant glance caught Leo's eye, a reminder of the Ministry's reach, their warnings echoing from the ruins. Not everyone's convinced. The System's warning pulsed, chilling the triumph.

[YOU'VE LIT A SPARK. DON'T LET IT BURN YOU.]

They'll strike back. A loose banner in the hall swayed, urging them toward rebellion, the crowd's energy a fragile flame ready to ignite.
