Larissa's POV
His hand moved down to grip my backside firmly, making me gasp in surprise.
"Is that really all you think I'm capable of?" I asked, attempting to sound insulted even though I couldn't suppress the smile threatening to break free.
"Absolutely not." His tone became unexpectedly gentle. "You excel at everything you do professionally."
The unexpected praise left me momentarily speechless. "Oh. I appreciate that."
An uncomfortable quiet settled between us, interrupted only by the distant whirring of helicopter rotors approaching.
"Our transportation has arrived," Carson announced, rising to his feet and extending his hand toward me.
The return flight passed in contemplative silence, both of us absorbed in our separate thoughts. As the aircraft began its descent toward the landing area, I found myself questioning what would happen once we returned to Los Angeles. Would our relationship shift once we left this tropical haven behind?
