Academy Training Grounds – Afternoon
The crowd's cheers still lingered from the sparring matches, but Indra sat off to the side, his expression unreadable.
Uchiha Taijutsu—an art built to bloom only under the eye of the Sharingan. Without it, even the most diligent Uchiha could only push so far… Chūnin at best. But with the Sharingan awakened, each motion, each faint twitch of muscle could be read and countered. With three tomoe, their taijutsu was said to rival three jōnin at once.
That was the true weight of the dōjutsu, a fact few outsiders truly grasped. Even Kakashi, feared across nations, had risen high on a single borrowed eye. What, then, of one who bore both?
Indra exhaled, lowering himself to the ground. His hand slid over his face, covering his eyes until only a faint gleam peeked through his fingers.
Sharingan.
A blood-red bloom spread across his vision, three tomoe spinning slowly around a black center. The world sharpened, Kushina's form glowing with the faint pulse of her chakra. His eyes narrowed.
Her chakra's sealed… Kurama's already locked away.
Before he could dwell on it, a sudden pat landed on his back. His vision flickered, and the red bled back into black. Indra blinked up to see Noboru grinning.
"It happens," Noboru said lightly. "She's just… a monster."
Kushina's head snapped around, her fiery hair swinging with her glare.
"What did you say?!"
Noboru froze, paling.
"M-Mina—Minato! I said Minato's a monster… when he eats!"
Kushina huffed, crossing her arms. "Hmph. Better be."
But the damage was done. Whispers began spreading across the benches.
"He's a monster when eating?"
"Like those fairy tales… maybe he devours food with both hands."
"Yeah, just shoveling it in nonstop—like a beast!"
All eyes shifted toward Minato. The boy frowned, clearly embarrassed, and turned away with a sigh.
Meanwhile, Noboru looked utterly helpless, mouthing help me in Minato's direction.
Breaking the tension, Minato finally leaned toward Indra. "When will we train again?"
At that, Noboru perked right back up, his earlier doom forgotten. "Yeah, yeah! You bailed on us today—you better not ditch tomorrow too!" His enthusiasm rang bright, almost childlike.
Indra exhaled softly. "…Maybe in a few days."
The answer was vague, the kind that could stretch to weeks or even months. Both Minato and Noboru sensed it, but neither pressed further.
Minato only nodded, masking disappointment with a small smile. "It's alright. We get it, Indra."
Indra returned a faint smile of his own, thin but real, as the teacher began calling everyone back. One by one, the students filed into line, chatter still buzzing about "the eating monster" Minato.
Indra rose to his feet. "Let's go, guys."
The class quickly ended, Indra picked up his pace as he left the academy only to be called after.
"Indra!" He froze as he glanced over his shoulder, there he saw Noboru waving meanwhile kushina mikoto and Minato tagged along.
"We were going to Ichiraku Ramen...huff, come with us!" Noboru panted heavily as he glanced at Indra's face.
The facial expression didn't shift even slightly, still adapting the calm and composed look Indra spoke"why not?" Then he smiled.
Noboru smiled back between his pantings,"alright!" He yelled raising a fist high.
Kushina and the others also caught up,"going to Ichiraku Ramen with us, indra-kun?" Mikoto asked as Indra nodded.
"Wait—im paying for Indra today, as a big—" Indra intercepted"friend."
Kushina raised a brow as Indra chuckled"what? It's your treat and your making me wait?" He asked as kushina shook her head.
Meanwhile minato's face was of confusion then realization as he understood why he interrupted kushina.
'no way...Is he actually serious on dating kushina?'
Minato spoke it to himself as his lips tightly clasped together, nonetheless he followed the groups navigating through konoha.
The sign of Ichiraku Ramen came into Indra's view as he entered the shop.
"Hello, teuchi -san my name is Hikaru, arata's brother" the man bowed deeply.
Seeing this scene stirred something inside Indra, instantly his memories resurfaced .
"Hello teuchi-san," Renji bowed deeply even when being tired"I'm Renji Uchiha, Brother of Indra"
"Ohoho, Hikaru eh? I heard a lot about you from arata" teuchi said with a wide smile.
Instantly a surge of jealousy went through Indra's very being,he sat grumply at the seat followed by his joyful friends.
His eyes grew distant, thinking some motives to revive Renji.
But kushina glared at him deeply, her cheeks flushing red. Minato looked at her facial expression and frowned as his eyes landed on Indra who was looking at kushinas chest blankly.
"Indra!" Kushinas fist crashes down onto Indra's hands as Indra woke up from his trance"huh?" He looked at the hand of kushina between his hands gripped as he frowned
"I didn't mean to touch you kushina...was just in a deep thoughts." Minato's head shrieked back as his lips curled upwards"what?"
He spoke as kushinas eyes landed on him.
Bong!
A lump appeared on kintos head as Noboru laughed animatedly,"haha! Look! Minato is about to hatch eggs from his head!"
Noboru spoke as suddenly a primal fear stirred up deep inside him, instantly he spoke"look! Ramen is here!"
Teuchi placed the ramen Infront of them as he smiled warmly at Indra,"here you go, a special lamb ramen for Indra" seeing teuchi's sincere smile Indra smiled back warmly.
"Thanks teuchi-san!" Teuchi shook his head"no worries!"
Kushina looked at the lamb ramen as her eyes moved to the menu,
'300 ryo for a single lamb ramen...'
She said nothing yet, but as soon as the bowl finished Indra called for another one.
Instantly kushina viewed her purse and noticed it had a total of 1,500 Ryo.
More than enough, she thought. But she underestimated one thing...a ninjas appetite.
Soon the second bowl fell followed by the third,at this moment kushina felt like she herself should stop so Indra could eat.
Suddenly she froze' why did I think to save money for Indra?'
She froze between the boundary between friends and...more.
