Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Shattered Trust

Selena couldn't breathe. The envelope still lay open on the table between them, its contents spread like poisonous seeds. Her eyes burned, her chest rising and falling as if the weight of truth might crush her.

"You lied to me." Her voice cracked, soft but sharper than any scream.

Nolan's jaw was tight, his hands curled into fists at his sides. He didn't move toward her, didn't try to reach for her like he usually did. "Selena—"

"Don't." She held up a trembling hand. "Don't say my name like that. You told me everything. That's what you said. No more secrets. But this?" She jabbed a finger at the birth certificate. "This is everything, Nolan. This is a life you hid from me."

Nolan's eyes were stormy, filled with something between rage and despair. "I didn't hide it because it mattered. I hid it because it doesn't."

Selena's breath caught. "A child doesn't matter?"

He flinched, stepping closer. "Don't twist my words. That birth certificate—it isn't what it looks like. I'll explain everything, but you need to trust me."

She shook her head, tears spilling freely now. "How can I trust you when every time I peel back a layer, there's another lie waiting underneath?"

His hand shot out, gripping her wrist. Not hard, not violent—but desperate. "Because what we have is real. Because I would burn this world down before I let Clara or anyone else take you away from me."

Selena's pulse hammered at his touch. Her body screamed for him even as her heart ached with betrayal. She yanked her hand free. "Then prove it. Right here, right now. Tell me everything. All of it. No more half-truths."

For a moment, Nolan said nothing. The silence between them stretched, thick and unbearable. Then he took a step back, raking a hand through his hair.

"I can't."

Selena's chest split open. The floor seemed to fall away beneath her feet. "Then we're done."

She turned toward the door, but before she could take another step, Nolan was there, slamming it shut with his palm. His body caged hers against the wood, his breath hot against her ear.

"You think you can walk away from me?" His voice was low, rough, trembling with rage and fear. "You think I'll let you?"

Her heart thundered, fear and desire tangled so tightly she couldn't tell them apart. "You don't own me, Nolan."

His hand slid to her jaw, tilting her face to his. "No, but you own me. And I don't survive without you."

Then his lips crashed against hers.

---

It was brutal, desperate, like a man clinging to the only thing keeping him alive. Selena fought him at first, pushing at his chest, but his tongue swept into her mouth, his hands gripping her hips, and her resistance melted into fire.

"Nolan—" she gasped as his mouth left hers to trail down her throat, biting, sucking, marking.

"I'll give you proof," he groaned against her skin. "I'll show you everything. But right now…" His hand slid beneath her shirt, rough against her bare stomach. "…right now, I need you to remember who you belong to."

Selena's head fell back, a moan escaping her lips as his fingers dipped lower, teasing, demanding.

"Say it," he growled.

Her eyes fluttered shut. "I hate you," she whispered, even as her body arched into his touch.

His laugh was harsh, broken. "Then hate me while I make you mine."

He lifted her effortlessly, her legs wrapping around his waist as he carried her to the couch. Papers scattered to the floor, forgotten, as he laid her down and stripped her bare. His mouth claimed her breast, sucking her nipple until she cried out, his groan vibrating against her skin.

Selena clutched at his hair, torn between anger and need. "You're impossible," she gasped.

"And you're unforgettable," he rasped, his tongue sliding lower, lower until she bucked beneath him. His lips closed around her clit, sucking hard, his tongue circling with maddening precision.

Selena's scream filled the room. Her fingers tangled in his hair as wave after wave of pleasure ripped through her. "Nolan—oh God—"

He didn't stop until she was trembling, her body spent. Only then did he rise, his eyes dark with hunger. He freed himself, and with one deep, claiming thrust, he filled her completely.

Selena cried out, nails digging into his back. Their bodies moved together in a frenzy, every thrust an argument, every moan a confession.

"Say you'll never leave me," Nolan demanded, his lips at her ear.

Tears streaked her face as she clung to him. "I can't—"

"Yes, you can." His pace quickened, relentless. "Say it. Say you're mine."

Her sobs turned into cries of pleasure as her body surrendered, breaking apart beneath him. "I'm yours!" she screamed, her climax tearing through her. "Always yours!"

Nolan groaned her name like a prayer as he followed, collapsing against her, their bodies slick with sweat and desperation.

---

For a long time, they lay tangled together, their breaths ragged, hearts still racing. Nolan pressed a kiss to her temple, his voice hoarse. "I'll prove it to you, Selena. Tomorrow. I'll show you the truth. But don't you ever say we're done again."

Selena's tears dampened his chest. She wanted to believe him. She wanted to let the heat of his touch erase Clara's poison. But deep inside, her heart whispered the same warning over and over.

Love built on secrets would always be fragile.

This chapter showed just how fragile Selena and Nolan's bond really is. Even with betrayal and lies hanging between them, their passion is undeniable. The mix of anger, desperation, and love made this intimacy scene raw and explosive
