Inside the biological research facility, a man was looking through dark archives with the faint light of a flashlight.

Eddie Brock was a well-known local reporter. A while ago, he had discovered that the Drake Life Foundation was conducting inhumane human experiments involving mysterious alien creatures. He had tried to expose the conspiracy, but had been fired by his media company instead. In desperation, he had snuck into the facility to find evidence.

"Yes, that's it!" he said, pulling a document from a safe.

Alien Symbiote… Venom, Riot… A liquid life form… Parasitizes with a suitable human host, can show extraordinary power… Of the five human experimental subjects, only one succeeded in coexisting with its symbiote!

The more he read, the more frightened he became. He hurriedly folded the materials into the inner pocket of his jacket. Just as he was about to leave, the entire office building began to tremble violently. He looked out the window and saw that the facility's spacecraft was launching.

RUMBLE!

The spacecraft, which was about to pierce the night sky and leave the planet, exploded at an altitude of several hundred meters, the orange-red fire illuminating the huge facility below.

Eddie witnessed all of this in shock. Driven by professional habit, he took out a small camera and began to record. Countless fragments of the spacecraft, trailing flames and dense smoke, fell from the sky like meteorites. In the camera's lens, amidst the falling wreckage, a small black beast's shadow flashed past.

Inside the mysterious dimensional space, a warning sounded. "Insufficient energy. Repeat, energy is severely insufficient."

The light on Iron Man's chest and eye sockets dimmed. He could only keep the suit's engine running at extremely low power, leaving him stagnant in the middle of the space, surrounded by floating alien corpses.

"Am I going to die in this unknown ghost place?" Tony Stark thought with a bitter smile. He was lost in this place, a graveyard for countless alien creatures. The clothes and weapons on the corpses were all different, a testament to the complex and densely populated universe beyond Earth.

The formation of the Avengers was the right path for the future. But it was useless to know that now. His energy was about to run out. This would be his burial place.

He was surprisingly calm. "Turn on the built-in camera to archive a personal video," he said.

His tired face was reflected in the helmet's display. "Leave it to Pepper. Virginia 'Pepper' Potts."

"When you see this, I'll be dead," he began. "Living in an era of alien invasions and raging mutations, you never know when an accident will happen. Maybe I should have been prepared. One moment I was in New York, and the next, I'm trapped in this place with no escape. I tried my best, really."

"But I'm not telling you this to complain. I just want to tell you that I… love you."

Leo fell from a height of a hundred meters, landing in a crater of his own making, rubble splashing everywhere. The remains and fragments of the spacecraft crashed down around him, setting the facility on fire. He cautiously looked around, and when he was sure that the third symbiote was truly dead, he relaxed.

Disposing of the third and final symbiote had been much easier than he had expected. The symbiote, Riot, had tried to escape in the spacecraft, but had only ended up trapping itself in the enclosed cabin, where it had burned to death. If he had been a step later, the outcome would have been very different.

Now, all three symbiotes were dead. The Venom was dormant in the Flerken's body.

"It's over," he said, and with a flick of his cat-like paws, he leaped over the facility's railing and headed back to the hotel where Nami and Kayla were staying.

Halfway there, he suddenly remembered something very important.

"By the way, I almost forgot," he said, and without stopping, he opened his mouth wide and spit something out into the block below.

A red and gold steel body fell from the sky.

Leo didn't stop. He disappeared into the night.

CLANG!

Iron Man, covered in viscous saliva, sat blankly in the middle of the street. The familiar, prosperous streets of New York were all around him, with busy traffic and Christmas songs beginning to play. More and more people were gathering around, some of them taking pictures.

Tony was silent for a moment, not with the relief of a man who had just escaped death, but with the quiet fury of a man who had just been deeply and profoundly embarrassed.

WTF! My last words… I recorded them for nothing?

Not long after Leo left, inside the office building, Eddie, seeing the flames spreading, fled in a panic. He tripped over a chair and fell heavily to the floor.

As he struggled to get up, a cold feeling spread from his bruised palm, as if something had seeped through his wound. He looked at his hand, but there was no scratch.

The fire was about to reach the office building. He didn't think too much about it. He just pushed open the door and ran.
