"Can you stop acting like a baby and come out? I'm not attracted to you. Even when you're naked, it won't arouse me. So come out, okay?" Adrian's voice cut through it — dry, flat, unbothered.
Raya blinked.
The words hit her like cold water. A slap would have burned less.
For a heartbeat she wanted the floor to open beneath her, anything to spare her from the mortification swimming inside her bones. But his tone, that infuriating, detached certainty, pushed her pride to the front.
Fine.
If he didn't care, then neither would she.
Raya stepped out slowly, towel secured tightly this time, chin lifted just enough to pretend she still had dignity left to hold.
Adrian didn't even blink at her.
He simply bent, picked up the tray he was holding in his hand, and set it properly on the edge of the bed as though nothing embarrassing had happened between them minutes ago.
Her humiliation churned into irritation.
