After Raya dropped the call with Seraphina's parents, after stoping to think for a moment.
She grabbed the door handle and walked out.
The corridor outside her room felt longer than usual, the marble floor cold beneath her bare feet. She wore a simple, comfortable, nothing that screamed future bride. Nothing that felt like it belonged to a woman about to be married in three days.
Three days.
The thought made her chest tighten.
Adrian had no right to decide that. No right to announce it like a finalized agreement when she hadn't even said yes. No right to drag her into something that was starting to feel less like a contract and more like a cage.
She needed to speak to him.

Raya went straight to Adrian's study first. She knocked once, sharp and impatient, then again when there was no answer.
