Raya couldn't sleep anymore after everything that had happened at dawn.
The night clung to her like a suffocating veil, heavy and unyielding. Every time she closed her eyes, Adrian's voice echoed in her head — calm, teasing, cruel in its restraint. As you wish. Those words replayed again and again, each time sinking deeper, carving unseen wounds into her chest.
By morning, she gave up.
She rose quietly from the bed, her movements slow, deliberate, as though her body was no longer entirely hers. The mirror reflected a woman with tired eyes and hollowed cheeks, a woman who looked like she had aged years overnight. She stared at herself for a long moment before turning away.
A bath. That was all she allowed herself. No thoughts. No tears.
Just water.
