Luther, with a handprint still on his face, clung to Joshua and grinned foolishly.
As expected, Joshua still liked him best—an undeniable fact!
Just then, Henry suddenly spoke: "Joshua, ice cream."
Hearing that, Joshua looked up and saw a convenience store just ahead.
Without hesitation, he ran toward Henry, smiling brightly. "I'm coming!"
The group walked inside. Joshua, without so much as a pause, made a beeline past the aisles straight to the ice cream freezer.
Seeing him like that, Luther couldn't help but say, "Ms. Elly told us to cut down on our sugar intake, remember?"
Of course, Luther's words didn't reach Joshua at all.
Waving his hand dismissively, Joshua peered intently through the clear glass, starting to pick his ice cream before turning to Henry to ask, "Henry, what flavor are you having?"
Henry looked at Joshua, swallowed a little, and replied softly, "Peach."
"I'll have peach too," Justin quickly chimed in.
