The possessive way he said my made Cassian's entire body jolt, his face exploding in heat.
"Wh–wha–WHAT?!" he blurted out, his voice cracking halfway through. A few students turned their heads, some smirking, others whispering, and Cassian wanted the ground to swallow him whole.
Leonel only chuckled, stretching lazily as if nothing scandalous had just left his mouth. Aiden rolled his eyes, muttering something under his breath that sounded suspiciously like, "Unbelievable."
The rest of the lecture passed in tense silence at least for Cassian. His mind kept replaying that single word, my, over and over until it burned into his thoughts. By the time the bell rang, he practically jumped out of his seat.
"Finally," Leonel groaned, stretching his arms over his head. "I swear if I had to listen to one more equation, I'd start chewing on the desk."
