Jarvis was silent for a moment, as if calculating something.
After a few seconds, he replied, "Sir, according to current theoretical calculations, this is possible. However, your bio-field is still in a very early stage. Its stability and strength are far from sufficient. Entering outer space recklessly carries extremely high risks, with a failure probability of over 98.7%."
"Oh? So that still leaves a 1.3% chance of success?" Henry raised an eyebrow, a mischievous, eager smile on his face.
"Not giving it a try isn't exactly in the Stark style."
"In that case, sir, I strongly recommend you wear your armor," Jarvis immediately advised.
"You designed emergency life support and supersonic propulsion functions into it. Should your body encounter any unbearable conditions, I can immediately activate the highest authority protocol and bring you back from outer space."
"Oh? You think I'm going to fail?" Henry said with a smirk, though he nodded slightly.
"But it's a good suggestion. I wouldn't want to be the first person streaking through space only to freeze into an ice pop. That would be too embarrassing."
He stood, stretched, and strode toward the bedroom.
Once back, he casually changed into a black casual outfit.
The living room was empty. Pepper had probably gone to the office early to clean up Tony's mess—or perhaps hadn't even returned yet.
As for Tony himself, he was likely still lying in some model's bed, lost in his daydreams.
Henry muttered about Tony's chaotic personal life while heading toward the underground lab.
"Honestly, Jarvis, if I really die out in space, do you think Tony would shed a tear for me? I guess he'd at most sigh about losing a free super-bodyguard at his beck and call."
"Sir, according to my emotional model analysis, while Mr. Tony is not good at expressing himself, his concern for you exceeds your concern for him. If anything happened to you, there's a 99.4% probability he would eliminate any threats at all costs."
"Really? Well, that's…a little touching," Henry said, though his face betrayed a 'yeah, right' expression.
He soon arrived at the underground lab, retrieving the armor already assembled into its suitcase form.
He didn't suit up in the lab; instead, he carried the case back to the second-floor viewing balcony.
He opened the suitcase and placed it on the ground.
"All right, old friend, go easy. I don't want to be squeezed too tight before takeoff."
As he spoke, the all-black armor automatically equipped itself piece by piece onto his body.
"Jarvis, what if I really meet aliens out here? Should I greet them? Ask if they've eaten? Or just punch them to show Earthlings aren't to be trifled with?"
"Sir, according to basic interstellar diplomacy, I suggest observing first and not exposing hostility."
"Fine, boring as usual."
Soon, the armor was fully donned.
Henry flexed, feeling a newfound power surge through him.
He stood at the balcony edge, looking at the horizon where sea met sky, taking a deep breath.
"Ready, Jarvis? Our space journey is about to begin."
"Standing by, sir. All life support and emergency protocols are activated."
"Good." Henry's face broke into a radiant grin.
"The first Stark to fly into space under his own power is about to appear! Let Tony stay in his tin can dream!"
He slowly floated, his body half a meter off the ground.
"Start the countdown, Jarvis. Give me some ceremony."
"As you command, sir. Three, two, one, launch!"
"Boom!"
Henry's figure became a black streak, shooting vertically into the clouds, disappearing from view.
High above, Henry kept accelerating, feeling like a bullet freed from all constraints, heading into the unknown universe.
"Jarvis! Test maximum speed! I want to see how fast I can fly now!"
"Calculating, sir. You are currently at Mach 2.8 and still accelerating! Analyzing compatibility of your bio-field with upper-atmosphere conditions! Analysis complete: excellent! You may continue accelerating!"
"Good work, Jarvis!!"
Henry's speed increased, tearing through the sky.
"Prepare, sir! Ready to break through the atmosphere!" Jarvis's voice rang out again.
"I've been ready!"
The next moment, he felt himself pierce an invisible membrane.
The view ahead opened dramatically.
He had broken through the atmosphere.
"Oh my God!" he couldn't help but exclaim.
"Feels like tearing through a layer of cling film. Not cool at all."
He kept ascending, the surroundings growing deeper and darker.
"Exiting near-Earth orbit."
"Entering outer space."
"Sir, about to enter a complete vacuum!"
Jarvis's voice continued to guide him.
Finally, he stopped ascending.
He had reached outer space.
The massive, blue Earth slowly rotated below his feet.
It was a grandeur beyond words.
The silence of the universe was almost terrifying.
"Sir, are you okay? Any discomfort?" Jarvis's voice broke the stillness.
Henry froze for several seconds, then spoke slowly, disbelief and joy in his voice.
"This is amazing! Jarvis, I can still hear you! Is it the bio-field? Wait—I can still speak! Fuck! This really is the bio-field!"
"Apparently so, sir," Jarvis's voice was tinged with awe.
"This bio-field not only allows sound to propagate in vacuum, it also seems to resolve your oxygen needs."
"Exactly!" Henry clenched his fists in disbelief.
"I feel no suffocation! I can breathe!"
Looking at the beautiful planet below, he couldn't help but marvel.
"So this is space? It's beautiful! And Earth…so vast!"
"Yes, sir. From this perspective, human conflicts seem trivial."
After a few exchanges, Henry looked at his black armor, then his powerful hands.
Have I…really become a superman?
Judging from comic book logic, maybe I really am a low-tier Superman.
"Hey, Jarvis," he suddenly said.
"I feel like I'm absorbing solar energy faster here. Probably because I'm closer to the Sun."
"Yes, sir," Jarvis replied.
"With no atmosphere or ozone layer to block it, the sunlight's intensity and energy density are completely different from Earth's surface."
"Then I'll stay here and absorb as much as I can." Henry's face broke into an eager smile.
"Sir, that's an excellent idea. In theory, your strength will increase dramatically."
"Then it's settled!"
Henry slowly lifted his head, looking at the massive ball of heat and light in the distance.
That's…the Sun?
"Strange, it's not blinding. Feels…comfortable, warm."
"Your body is actively absorbing and converting solar energy, sir. Your eyes can now fully adapt to this intensity of light."
"Is this what being Superman feels like?"
Henry whispered, then slowly spread his arms, making a gesture as if embracing the Sun.
His black cape floated behind him, held aloft by the bio-field in the vacuum.
Endless sunlight poured over him, completely engulfing him.
In that moment, he felt as though he had merged with the entire universe.
