After his trainee pays for her shoes and the destruction she caused, the trainer decides to bring the beaten-up trainee to a fast-food restaurant in the mall. At first, they were searching for a place that sells hachimi, only to be disappointed that there was none. To stop his trainee from throwing a tantrum in public, the trainer then picked a random fast-food restaurant that sells steak.
"It even sucks that there's no store that sells hachimi."
"Even more than you getting beaten up?"
"Did I stutter?"
"Noted."
Seeing the normally cheerful Teio's mood darken rang an alarm inside the young man's brain. His brain is saying, Back off or get Umapyoi.
Wait! Why am I afraid of that?! I can just use my many skills to escape!! I'm practically the only Uma Musume fanfiction protagonist that is immune to the threat of Umapyoi!!
"Excuse me, your dishes have arrived."
A waitress walks up to their table and places two portions of steaks, a cappuccino, and a honey lemonade. The honey lemonade is there to replace the hachimi, even though Teio was saying that it's not the same. She doesn't have any other option, so she begrudgingly accepts her defeat.
"Is there anything else I can help you with?"
"No. Thank you."
"Then how about your friends on the other side of the glass?"
"Eh?"
The trainer and trainee look at the other edge of the table. Planted firmly on the glass is McQueen's face, glaring at both of them. Her mouth was moving, but the glass was thick enough that none of her voice was coming through. Either that or she is breathing through her mouth.
"The door is over there, McQueen."
You're fast, but you're not the flash. You can't phase through objects.
Sensing danger, Teio quickly moves and sits beside her trainer as McQueen storms into the restaurant. Securing the best position is an important skill to have after all.
"Trainer!"
"McQueen!"
"Teio!"
"McQueen!!"

Mejiro Dober speaks out when no one is calling out for her. She feels left out.
"Please sit down and order your food. There's plenty on the menu."
The 2 Mejiro ladies sat down with McQueen sitting on the opposite side of the young man. Dober sits opposite Teio, the farthest from the young man.
Dober, huh… Knowing her personality toward men, I don't need to bother being friendly with her.
The young man wasn't being cold or harsh by not wanting to get close to Mejiro Dober. Dober is well known to not like men so much. Not in a feminist kind of way, she just doesn't know how to interact with them and usually comes off as rude, which is where her reputation comes from.
The young man's old world knowledge knows why she was designed like this. Rumor has it that she never wins in a mixed filly-colt race. She won in the filly-only race, but always lost in mixed races. This is probably why she corrected men with bad things.
I wonder how that characteristic develops in this world.
If we were true to history, then she should start hating men after being a student at Tracen Academy, and not before. But the fact says otherwise, as Dober already hated men before she became a student at Tracen.

"Shopping for new clothes."
"Bought what you're looking for?"

Under the table, McQueen lightly kicks Teio on her shin. To attack using a guerrilla tactic is a cowardly move. McQueen wouldn't be as angry if Teio told her in advance that she would be having a date with trainer. At least that way she'll be an honorable rival.
"We were just buying her a new pair of shoes."
"She can do it on her own."
"I'm her trainer. This is what a trainer does, McQueen."
"...why only now do you act as a proper trainer?"

"Why are you shopping for clothes anyway? Didn't you have a hard time closing your wardrobe?"
"I just sent some of my clothes back to the Mejiro Mansion. I'm not like you, who wear the same thing until they're shredded into fibers, Teio."
"It's called being environmentally friendly, McQueen."
"What kind of clothes did you buy?"

His 2 trainees kick him in the shins to shut him up. Being kicked by an Uma feels like someone has just swung a metal bat at you.

Teio's curiosity got the better of her as she extended her leg into McQueen's bags and pinched one of the items between her big toe and index toe. She silently pulled it toward her and then looked at it.
"BUGH!!"
"What's wrong, Teio?"
"Nothing!! This steak was so good that it surprised me!!"
The item that Teio pulled out was the sexy thong. Teio thought that McQueen bought everyday clothes that were slightly different from what she wore right now, but seeing what she pulled out, Teio is drenched in cold sweat.
She is worried that her rival might be far ahead than she earlier thought. Why would McQueen need to buy this and say that Igo would love it if she weren't planning on showing it to him?
