The 14th MEGA Evolution Stone, a Super Lucky Togepi Pokémon Egg!
It was impossible to kill it, of course. Although Ash's strength was great, Aerodactyl had lived for countless years and was a Gym Pokémon with S-level stamina. Its body hardness was absolutely guaranteed.
However, that punch directly knocked Aerodactyl unconscious. Before losing consciousness, Aerodactyl was still wondering where this human freak came from.
He had already prepared to trade injuries with the opponent, but the opponent was still able to react in that situation and counter-attacked with an energy orb of an unknown move, shattering his Dragon Claw.
After his Dragon Claw shattered, he naturally had no way to attack Ash, and in the end, he was tragically knocked down by Ash with a single punch.
Aerodactyl, who had been knocked into the cave ceiling, fell down a moment later. Ash had Charizard catch him.
Then, after confirming that Aerodactyl was not in any life-threatening danger, he took out a Poké Ball and was about to capture it. At this moment, footsteps came, and Ash looked in the direction of the sound, finding that Gary and the others had arrived.
"Ash, are you alright?" The person running at the front was Misty. After seeing the firelight, she sped up and ran over, then saw Ash squatting on the ground, so she subconsciously asked with concern.
"What could be wrong with me?" Ash looked at himself; he only had a bit of dust on him, not at all looking like something was wrong.
"What was that commotion just now? It felt like the whole cave was about to collapse." Brock asked while looking around, his gaze finally settling on the Aerodactyl next to Ash.
"That… that Pokémon is!!"
"The ancient sky overlord, Aerodactyl!" Gary said word by word, his eyes showing deep shock.
It was one thing for this place to have Kabuto and Omanyte, but it even had Aerodactyl!
Fossils of Fossil Pokémon are already rare, and Aerodactyl's fossils are even rarer compared to other Fossil Pokémon!
Currently, the only known Aerodactyl in the world is the one Lance possesses. Besides him, no one else owns an Aerodactyl.
Yet, today, one was found in the Grand Canyon, and by the looks of it, it seemed to have been knocked down by Ash and was about to be captured by him.
Is this the encounter of the God of Dumb Luck?
"You wouldn't have known there was an Aerodactyl inside, so you made us catch the Pokémon outside while you ran in to monopolize the Aerodactyl, would you?!" Gary said to Ash in a sarcastic tone.
"What nonsense are you talking about! This Aerodactyl is an Elite Four Class. How about I let him recover and then fight you? If you can win his acknowledgment, then you can capture him!" Ash rolled his eyes and retorted irritably.
This sentence completely stunned Gary.
An Elite Four Class Aerodactyl… even if he sent out all his Pokémon, he couldn't beat it!
Although Ash had defeated Koga of the Fuchsia Gym a while ago and even defeated three Elite Four Class Pokémon, that battle was very difficult for Ash. Yet, he had taken down this Aerodactyl in such a short time. Could this guy have improved again?
Seeing Gary no longer speaking, Ash also threw the Poké Ball in his hand, hitting Aerodactyl. The Poké Ball took Aerodactyl in and made a crisp sound without any shaking.
Aerodactyl was completely unconscious. If it could still struggle, that would be a bit absurd.
"I caught Aerodactyl!" Ash exclaimed excitedly, raising the Poké Ball in his hand.
"Pika Pikachu!" Pikachu routinely chanted slogans at Ash's feet.
Although he didn't exert any effort in this battle, he assisted with his eyes!
Besides, when Ash made a move, he only needed to watch. So far, the only Pokémon Ash has personally captured are Gengar, Aerodactyl, and himself.
When he first became Ash's Pokémon, he was so disobedient, but then he had a real-life PK with Ash and was directly subdued by Ash. What could he say when a human could exert such power? He just gave in.
Under normal circumstances, Ash still adhered to the principle of Pokémon battles, unless his Pokémon were completely unable to deal with the opponent, or Ash himself was required to enter the field. Then the opponent would know what it means for the Trainer to be the final boss!
If it weren't for the fact that a Trainer entering a battle in an official match was a foul, Ash would probably already be an Elite Four Champion.
After capturing Aerodactyl, Ash turned to Gary and asked, "How are your harvests? What Pokémon did you catch?"
"I caught an Omanyte," Misty said, gently shaking a Poké Ball in her delicate hand.
"I caught a Kabuto."
"Me too."
Brock and Gary both caught Kabuto. Men find it hard to resist dual-wielding, and although Kabuto isn't a dual-wielding Pokémon yet, it will be after evolution.
Compared to Omastar, they preferred the more rigid Pokémon like Kabutops.
However, somewhat to Ash's surprise, none of them had captured the evolved forms of the Fossil Pokémon.
Both Kabuto and Omanyte were initial forms, but Ash remembered that among the group of Pokémon just now, there were the final evolved forms of both types of Fossil Pokémon.
"You didn't catch Omastar and Kabutops. Is it because you couldn't beat them?" Ash asked a probing question.
"Nonsense! Those Fossil Pokémon just woke up; their combat power is less than one-tenth of what it should be. Even the Professional Level is not as strong as the Elite Level. What's so hard about defeating them? We just simply want to train them from scratch!" Gary retorted with dissatisfaction.
For normal people, being able to directly capture a Professional Level Pokémon would be incredibly happy. Gary and the other two were not normal people; they were very confident in their own training.
The strength of a Pokémon, besides its level, is also very important in relation to its bond with its Trainer. So, they chose lower-level Fossil Pokémon to train from a low level. This way, when they reach Professional Level, they will definitely be much stronger than Professional Level Pokémon captured directly.
Ash actually knew this point; he only said that just now to tease Gary.
"Alright, I was just saying it casually, you took it seriously. You guys came at a good time. Come with me and go deeper inside. I feel there's still something in there." Ash could feel that the MEGA guidance in his mind had not ended yet.
In the deeper parts, there were still items related to MEGA Evolution. As the big shot in the group said, A-level guidance should at least yield two items.
"Something else? Is your Aura so amazing? How can it detect everything?" Gary pouted, saying with a hint of sourness.
"Of course," Ash replied noncommittally, then walked deeper again.
As the group went deeper and deeper, they finally reached the very bottom of this underground cave. Here, they saw two items placed on a display-like stand.
One was a Pokémon Egg with strange patterns, and the other was a large, gem-like object.
Gary looked at Ash with a ghost-seeing expression. There really was something here. He had thought Ash was just bragging, wanting them to accompany him on an exploration of the cave.
After all, this place had living Fossil Pokémon, so going deeper might lead to finding some fossils, which, even if not revived, could be sold for travel funds or something.
But the result was that there really were things inside, and it was a Pokémon Egg, as well as a gem-like object.
This place was a habitat for ancient Fossil Pokémon, so any Pokémon Egg appearing here would definitely not be an ordinary item!
As for the gem, although it was something he had never seen before, Gary's intuition told him that it was definitely a good item!
After all, since it appeared in this cave, how bad could it be?
Ash's expression also brightened when he saw the smooth orb. The appearance of that orb was completely different from the Key Stone in his hand.
That is to say, that thing was a MEGA Evolution Stone. As for the other Pokémon Egg, Ash didn't pay much attention to it.
His main purpose for coming to this place was to obtain a MEGA Evolution set. Regardless of whether this MEGA Evolution Stone was compatible with his Pokémon, at least now both stones were complete.
Later, he could ask Professor Oak to keep an eye out for similar stones. Even if MEGA Evolution was truly discovered, and the MEGA Evolutionite he had was useless, he could still use this Evolutionite to trade with others at an equivalent value.
In short, there was no loss.
"Ash, do you know what this is?" Misty asked curiously, seeing Ash smiling happily while holding the MEGA Evolution Stone.
"Hmm… I don't know yet, but I'll definitely know later. There's a mysterious power inside this stone. Maybe it can help Pokémon unleash mysterious power when they carry it." Because he had Aura, Ash's words were almost beyond suspicion.
Misty also didn't doubt him, only assuming that Ash had detected the energy of this gem in the cave with his Aura, which was why he came here.
This MEGA Evolution Stone was naturally taken by Ash.
Brock and Misty naturally couldn't contend with Ash, and Gary… how could he, someone brought down by Ash and who received the favor of capturing a Fossil Pokémon, have the face to snatch things from Ash?
If it were Team Rockets, they might have fallen out on the spot, but Gary and Ash were childhood friends.
After Ash took the Evolutionite, everyone's attention also focused on the other item, which was a Pokémon Egg with red and blue patterns. Just by its appearance, Gary and the others couldn't tell what kind of Pokémon Egg it was.
But Ash's Insight Eye had already taken in all the information about the Pokémon Egg.
[Name: Togepi (Egg)]
[Gender: Female]
[Type: Fairy]
[Level: None]
[Ability: Super Luck]
[Moves: Growl, Pound, Follow Me, Metronome, Skill Swap (Egg Move), Morning Sun (Egg Move).]
[Six-Dimensional Abilities: Physical Attack E (B) Special Attack E (A) Defense E (S) Special Defense E (S) Stamina E (A) Speed A (A)]
Ash: ???
Following Aerodactyl, here was another Pokémon that could be called heaven-defying, or more accurately, a Pokémon Egg.
Double S and Triple A with one B, which would be considered heaven-defying in any Pokémon group.
Single S-level Pokémon are only likely to appear one in a million, and today he encountered two such double S-level Pokémon at once.
Let alone others, even Ash himself wondered if he had some Chosen One's Radiance on him?
Did that one-time ability, Chosen One's Radiance, become a permanent effect attached to him?
"Ash, can you tell what kind of Pokémon Egg this is?" Brock asked, seeing Ash staring intently at the Pokémon Egg.
Ash paused, then shook his head: "How would I know what kind of Pokémon Egg it is? Pokémon Eggs all look pretty similar, I can't tell. But a Pokémon Egg that can appear here shouldn't be an ordinary Pokémon. Let's take it with us."
As Ash spoke, he also scooped up the Pokémon Egg and put it into his spatial backpack.
Anyway, it was ownerless, so there was no problem with him taking it.
At this point, all the treasures in this underground cave had been cleared out by Ash. They turned back, preparing to return to the surface of the Grand Canyon.
On the way, Ash asked about the other Fossil Pokémon. Gary said that Gardevoir used Hypnosis to make them all go back to sleep.
However, this forced Hypnosis was different from their natural slumber, so they might wake up again soon.
So Brock left a lot of food there. If they woke up again, they could eat something. This could be considered compensation for disturbing their hibernation and even beating them up.
Then, Gary again questioned Ash about Gardevoir's situation.
This was Gardevoir! One of the Pokémon that countless men dreamed of. How did Ash get it? And it was a one-in-ten-thousand Shinny variety!
Ash didn't hide anything and directly told Gary how he obtained Gardevoir. Gary showed a ghost-seeing expression for what must have been the umpteenth time, exclaiming that Ash's dumb luck was too abnormal!
A Shinny Ralts appearing from a Pokémon Egg that fell from the sky… If this story were told, people would say you couldn't even make up a story, but this was precisely the truth.
With this kind of luck, how could he compete with Ash? He couldn't!
...The trip to the Grand Canyon ended, and Ash and Gary parted ways. The latter said they would see who was stronger at the Indigo Plateau Conference.
However, it was hard to say how big the gap between Gary and Ash would be at that time.
Anyway, the gap was already immense now. By the Indigo Plateau Conference three months later, Gary's main Pokémon might only be able to spar with Ash's second team. Although it sounds pathetic, this was reality, unless Gary also found his own cheat...
